Sukuna is on that War-arc Kakashi juice. It actually broke peoples mind how Kakashi who always had a pretty firm limit before, could suddenly spam jutsu for days, Unlimited Stamina Works, unlimited chakra cheat code and such were all thrown out.

I think complaining abt the binding vows is dumb considering gege’s writing style was always to be vague then reveal info later on. He did this with Sukuna BV before (world slash)

I've never felt this conflicted over anything fucking ever, one the one hand, the stocks for my goat are six feet under right now, he's _probably_ not coming back (not to say I'll stop coping), BUT ON THE OTHER HAND, MY 2ND FAVOURATE *GOAT* GOT *THIS* , man am I feeling something. The conflict doens't come from the narrative competence though, I think narratively this chapter was absolutely fucking phenomenal, the amount of character development thematic significance they had was insane, and to avoid writting a whole ass novel about it I'd like to go over me thoughts in parts:
Yuta: I think a very overlooked aspect about Yuta is just how young he is, and relative to that how much responsibility he shoulders. Before Shibuya, when Gojo thought something bad was gonna happen to him, he didn't go to any adults, he went to Yuta, his student, the Jujustu world looks up to him like the second coming of the Honoured One, and despite how strong he is, seeing Sukuna has to have frightened him somewhat, and even then he had people, both younger and older than him expecting him to do something if Gojo isn't there anymore. And if this wasn't enough, he takes so much responsiblity upon himself it's insane, I'm gonna kill Kenjaku, I'll have to do something against Sukuna, I have to become a monster. I think part of the reason is how much his friends and Gojo mean to him, he tried to off himself in Vol. 0, man quite literally owes his life to Gojo, and he probably sees just how desperately Gojo wants his students to catch up to him, so it takes it all on himself, the weight, the responsibility, all as a 17-year-old, that's what his character was to me, and this chapter just took all of that and dailed it up to 11, nothing in it was new to Yuta's character, it was a logically consistent path for him to take, but it did fix what in my opinion was his character's biggest weakness, better representation of his ideals to the audiance, my GOAT is about to deliver some fucking PEAK in the coming chapters and I couldn't be more hyped for him.
Gojo: What can I say that's not already been said, Gege cooks with Gojo's character ever- umm, most of the time, even after his death, I can't imagine a stronger way to hammer home the point of what he was when he was alive, a tool, the Strongest, not a person. I think the inhumane nature of the chapter kind of gets lost in the stylized art, but imagine it was live action, Gojo looked, wrong, with the stiches and the face, even if we know he isn't in there, that is still his body, it is what we associated with him for so long, it felt wrong seeing him used like that, but again, that's what he's always been.
There's so much I wanna say but I'm tired now so I'll go touch some grass, probably

Edit: after thinking about it, I take the L. Ronin doesn't make it clear but maybe he's talking about the fact that gojo needs to touch people in his domain to keep them safe unlike yuta who can do it without that limitation. But I wouldn't be be surprised if Gojo could binding vow his way out of the dilemma
Gojo can't select people out the way Yuta can, Yuta didn't hit Yuji with his domain sure hit effect and only hit Sukuna with his domain, what Kenjaku said was if Gojo can have his domain only bring the disaster curses into his domain then he would crush the people against the barrier, don't believe me chapter 84 says exactly what I'm saying
No Gojo couldn't selectively not target the civilians INSIDE his Domain unlike Yuta who showed he can target who he wants.
Gojo couldn't select target for his sure-hit effect like and no one can but Yuta.

Complaining about the pacing when Gege literally said that Yuji and Todo has no time to talk because Sukunas cursed technique was going to come back soon and then we literally see it come back the next chapter. Sometimes you guys have to take what is actually happening in the arc into context when talking about the pacing. Not much time has passed. Choso dying and Gojo showing up had to have taken place in the short amount of time that Sukuna was recovering his burnt out cursed technique. If it took longer it would actually be more inconsistent.
Love the new background art for you guys and these chapters lately have been really good but starting to feel like we're really spinning wheels here
As a gojo stan, i’m not happy how he went out but i do respect the fact that gege forces the characters into a corner (which elevates the stakes) and makes them do gruesome abnormal shit due to the circumstances. Unfortunately, the end justifies the means in this situation. I really hope Gege stops glazing sukuna and focuses on the actual protagonist, Yuji. That’s only thing he can do to make up for how he treated Gojo.

Gojo got his RCT back in 2 Blackflash and Sukuna hit 4 blackflash didn't get his RCT back and this was before Yuji landed any blackflashes

Make no mistake I love this chapter, and I enjoy reading week to week, but to say the caution to the story beats being unwarranted is a bit unfair.
Now, you are right. There will probably be a little blurb explaining the conditions of Sukuna's current Domain, and more importantly Yuta's. And when it happens, I'll read it and say, "Got it, a series of impromptu binding vows. What did he offer? Who cares. Look at how cool Yuta is!"
Imagine if gege doesn't actually end the story. As in we finish with the appearance of the merger, a new sort of power system is introduced and therefore we start a new manga
4th comment completely agree with you on the pint made around 2:45:00 gege has been rushing the last arc and things don’t tend to marinate personally I really felt it at the solider arc cause that isn’t really an arc and in the grand scene of things was pointless but could have been a great arc to introduce and add to characters or weaker characters like Miwa. I think gege wants to end the series but wants to kill sukana in a believable way
The same people claiming Gege is rushing are also complaining that Sukuna has been fighting for too long. The pacing is just different but I bet the anime fixes a lot of the issues people have with itm

We were very specifically told that Sukuna wasn’t going all out before, even when he was getting cooked in Yuta’s domain he wasn’t trying his absolute best, even fighting Yuji at times he just looks bored. He’s the strongest sorcerer in history for a reason, it makes sense that he has a massive reserve

As far as Sukuna's extremities being vague and I do agree there does need to be an eventual con for all these spur of the moment binding vows... I'm fairly certain NONE of the translations ever specified the vows he made to use this cobbled together fucked up MS w/o a drop in output or range were for a one time use. Having Yuta levels of CE is still a lot and enough to do a DE more than once and if he made it so he can keep doing it regardless of the damage to the barrier portion of the brain it isnt THAT crazy. The real question is how many more times can he pop it? Before the cracks already there really start collapsing into fissures. How much more can Sukuna take before all these actions blows back on him? Thats the real thing we gotta focus on

3:05:08 Merger Binding Vow is Kenjaku Binding Vow

If you tally up Sukuna’s CE, I think the most likely answer is this. He did not regain CE from getting his old body back, so he was pretty low on CE against Kashimo. Then during the next couple fights he regained up to about 50% by just not really doing much. Then when fighting Yuta he didn’t stop healing because he was out of energy, he was saving it for domain expansion. This still set him back a bit cuz he healed a lot at the start, so during the next couple black flashes he got back to about 50% (Yuta level). The Yuji black flash combo doesn’t make too much sense at all, best I can think of is after encountering Megumi, his soul became too weak to really fight back at all against Sukuna, so the major drops in CE control don’t apply anymore. Then when it came time for DE he had plenty of CE for it (still at Yuta level) but still had the messed up brain and lack of arm (could have healed it, but I assume he saw the advantage of a one handed activation so planned to make that vow anyways).
The domain expansion vows I think we can give one more chapter to explain before it gets to be mad writing because he’s using it right now, so we’ll wait and see
To be fair Uranus biggest point is area control and she’s great at handling multiple-enemy’s at once . She would lose with another heavy hitter on her but she still waste a lot of there time

I agree with the takes on Gege’s writing style & decisions, but what keeps me afloat is the fact that we haven’t gotten a final arc announcement yet.
I think it doesn’t really matter if they wear down sukuna or not because the merger is still his trump card! How are they supposed to beat that if all the heavy hitters are gone? 😂 oh how Gege finna write himself into a corner!

Hakari slander has no substance it’s very forced. It reminds me of the slander Zoro got when he fought Lucci from One Piece and the fight was off screened for like 4 months lol. Zoro still won tho and Hakari is going to win now 🤷♂️
Hakari was said to have the potential to surpass Gojo and was compared favorably to Yuta. His technique excels in battles of attrition and 1v1 fights which is why he was selected as the perfect counter to Uraume, Uraume who got literally one-punched by Gojo. He's most likely going to win, but even just by killing Kenjaku Yuta has already done far more in a fraction of the time.
@S-fp7uz The thing is Hakari is doing it entirely alone, vs Yuta who had Takaba as a distraction. The plan was for Yuta to hide and one tap Kenjaku because he needed his technique to take over Gojos body. Hakari was just meant to stall.
BR made a whole video about Yuta being a “monster” but failed to mention Hakari in it. Was fine with bringing up Uraume’s statement that she made about Hakari and didn’t even include how Hakari was the only 1 who didn’t mind the plan lol very disingenuous BR
