When she said "Why would God trust me to have Josie, why am I special that God chose me?" It brought tears to my eyes. An amazing example of the unwavering, unconditional love of a Mama.
God is horrible! Giving children diseases is ungodly! I can’t believe that people believe in God when a child does something like this to a human being! Religion makes people crazy-don’t get it!
She is kids with down syndrome are adorable, they like to smile, hug and they like to play with small kids and they don’t know what it is bad because they’re always happy.❤️❤️
Wow!!! From a mom of a small child with cancer, this just helped me cope with a new outlook I’ve never had before. Thank you so much. You have no idea how much I needed this today.
from somebody's who's loved one is really sick - this also really helped me. I worry about making today a good day and do not think about tomorrow. That's how we live anyways but I never thought about it like that, and hearing somebody saying it out loud makes a world of a difference. All the best to you and your family!
The fact she often wondered why she was given the gift of such a wonderful little girl tells me she was definitely placed in the right hands. So much love and acceptance of any possibility in that statement. ❤
There is a saying that God never gives us more than we can handle. I’ve seen this over and over, and this young woman proves it more than anyone else I’ve seen. It does take strength to deal with difficult and adverse situations like this, but doing so, and meeting the challenges head on, also builds strength that a lot of people never had any idea they could have.
I have a son who has severe autism. He is now 21yrs old. He’s completely non verbal, not potty trained, he has the mindset of a 2yr old. He has extreme anxiety and aggression. He has meltdowns and tantrums. He’s also very loving, affectionate, he loves his mama(me😊) so much and he knows I love him so much. I commend any parent raising a special needs child because it’s very hard and challenging and overwhelming at times. GOD bless u Mama for being an awesome mom to your beautiful babygirl ❤🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽❤️🥰🥰🥰❤
I have a daughter with a disorder too.And Josie is so lucky to have you.I cried when my daughter was diagnosed but then put my big girl pants on and did what I do best .Continue raising my kids .She has grown to adult hood with stories like she will be crippled she will have a shorter life .She is now almost 40 years old not crippled .I would love to say it's been easy but that wouldn't be true .But with help and getting her into a program that helps her it's been a life long learning lesson.Shes been in the community people love her and she loves seeing them too. It taught my other children and their friends that everyone is different .And everyone is loved unconditionally.
Oh my goodness…she is PRECIOUS!!! God doesn’t make mistakes and you were chosen to be her mama because He knew she needed YOU to love her. Your outlook on life is astounding. Thank you for sharing your story! My husband is a pediatrician and he has never heard of this syndrome so you just taught a doctor something new. ❤
Josie is absolutely beautiful and she is truly a very special gift from God! When I was working as a case worker in a group home for developmentally disabled youth I had a wonderful young man who had the same syndrome as Josie and I absolutely loved working with him because he would just take life by the horns and go for it! He did not let anything stand in his way and he was so funny and loving as well! As a parent I absolutely love your attitude and your love and joy in raising Josie because you can't think about the negative when you only see the positive impact that she is having in your family's lives! Much love and many prayers for your little girl and your family!❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
What a beautiful story! I was also chosen to be the mom of a kid with special needs. He is 29 now and living in a house with 3 roommates. It’s still challenging to be his mom but I wouldn’t change it for anything.
I know a 60 year old woman with Apert Syndrome, which is similar, but with a few differences. Each syndrome having its own challenges but both with premature skull bone fusion. Anyway, as for wondering about tomorrows, I wanted to share the bright side. She is simply amazing. Her older sister is pretty amazing, too. They get along wonderfully. Way more independent and self confident than most women I know, including myself. She takes 2 trains into the city to work. She will retire someday, but likes to work. She drives and lives in her own condo which she purchased herself. Yes, she has had relationships and many friendships. Her life is just as everyone else lives. 😊
That's amazing to read I have vitiligo it's a skin condition that make my skin have white patches tell him he is a gift to his mother may God bless him each day
❤ That made me cry when you said that you made it clear that you wouldn't terminate her. The world needs more people like you guys. Thank you for loving her and the rest of your wonderful kids❤
She is just too cute. I loved hearing her laughing on the swing and kissing her mum was so special. You keep fighting little girl and always be the best you can ❤
What an amazing and articulate woman. Kudos to her for helping others. I loved her statement about living in grief. I hope that she continues to share her wisdom.
Thank you for showing your faith in tsking care of this beautiful little girl. This is why God entrusted you with her. You're showing the world that medically complex babies deserve to have a life and be loved. To Him be the Glory.
@@KissaMeAssa We don't mean "perfect parents" literally. No such thing exists. We just mean these may be the best parents for this child's circumstances.
Wow! That little girl is such a miracle! I love to see her dancing and not wanting to go to bed, laughing in the swing and all that. I also love the mom's outlook.
Wow Josie sure is amazing! I always say no one can say when we will actually pass. She is a fighter and proved everyone wrong she is an amazing little girl ❤

My precious baby was born with Unilateral Craniosynostosis in 1996. She had her 1st surgery at 6 months old at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. I was 19 years old and her sister had just turned 1 yrs old eight days earlier. So I was excited for Mattie to have a sister to grow up with. But when Kaitlin was born she wasn't passing any of the tests that would signify that she could hear or see & also I knew something was wrong with her head because the right side was flat, especially around her eye & forehead region. So we were sent to Children's Healthcare. It was all so overwhelming, we seen teams of doctors and nurses and that's when we were told that she had Craniosynostosis. We were told that she was deaf and almost completely blind. And that she would have to have a tracheotomy during her 1st surgery on her skull. I am a God-fearing Christian lady and I prayed to God for healing for my baby. I also had our minister lay hands and pray for her. She ended up not having a tracheotomy, she had 2 eye muscle surgeries and she can see wonderfully with glasses. Although she is deaf in one ear she can hear great out of her other. She will be 29 years old in March. She is bright and beautiful and she is in a loving relationship with the best guy ever. She is also a manager at a dept store. Her 1st few years of life were hard but it was so worth it. It made us stronger as a family. Her determination to overcome different obstacles always amazes me. God is good and His mercy endures forever!
