Emily is absolutely adorable. She has the sweetest face. I can only imagine the medical difficulties are challenging. My heart goes out to this sweetie
Parents have done the right thing by going the hormone route. I am below average height and if I knew there had been an opportunity for me to be taller and my parents hadn't taken it, I would be resentful. Yes even a couple more centimetres can make all the difference.
Same. I only just hit 150cm, and I really wish my parents had been given better information. Interestingly, all my children are much taller; the shortest is 170 cm, and she’s considered average.
@@gemmas3172 obviously. But I only see people complaining about being too little and nobody acknowledges that being quite tall is also not cool necessarily.
@@Kloetenhenne Well go and find some docos on Gigantism then. This is about people who are not tall enough and don't need to worry about being too tall.
I wonder how Zilla is going? She's about my age, I'd love to see how she's doing. She's so gorgeous and bubbly she's the type who i think would make a fantastic friend. Her laugh, her outlook on life, she's intelligent and amazing 👏 💖
I wonder why the doctors didn’t inform these parents that you can literally blend up the same food there eating and put in the g tube that would give her tons of calories
No you can’t my daughter is on a g tube. Only liquids can go through the tube. It’s to small you can get more natural brands but you can not blend up food and put in feeding tube.
@@Jdjustsayingcan’t use blended food. My daughter is on a tube. Liquids only. You can get more natural formulas with extra calories depending on the child’s needs, this is a common misconception. Amelie Gledhill @Ameliesbigworld. I believe this is on X? In my old age I don't know how to do Facebook, etc. I have seen her picture. She is a gorgeous young lady. I hope she meets someone to share life with.
I’m just over 5ft tall, so short but “normal”. While a few items of my wardrobe are kids sized, to shop solely in the children’s section would be super frustrating. My spouse is 16” taller and my kids outgrew me at ages 12 and 10. Was offered kids menus in my 30s. Have had the validity of my ID questioned. I wouldn’t want to be tall, but I certainly appreciate how practical my level of minor shortness is. These kids have other challenges with their syndrome, and if human growth hormone can make their lives a little easier I certainly wouldn’t judge that! Wishing them well and closer to 5ft tall!
There are lots of asians and Indians who are undersize. The don't have a condition. These cultures think nothing of it. I know a chinese and an indian lady who are well under 5 ft. They're the size of a child but live in the normal adult world.
@subhapun3137 hi my mother told me she was to scared to let the doctor's give me the drug hormone to make me grow. Because of the side effects. I told my mum. That it was ok that I understand. The side effects were terrible. I told my mum she made the right decision. My mum thanked me. I tolded my mum I loved my size .
Can someone help me understand what Zillah was talking about the with the "tano" system at the gas station? They were calling her "Charles? " I'm just confused.
Being tall is also absolutely a daily torture, with everyday life. Although only 173cm in hong kong and in medium size for international brands, colleagues everyday play jokes for 2 to 3 times a working day for every single day about my statue in the month until i really not happy about that and suddenly he became quite beware of other conversations. Such as how difficult i could buy clothes and this is absolutely not the case, can even fit in clothes and shoes for m and s biggest teens. Also compare the students parent height with me and also saying i am so tall that can hold up everything put at the top. My height has been one my of biggest trauma in my life with nobody could understand as few people have such a height and at the same time as a strict parent with expectations far beyond their children age.
Shes got two different things going on, russell silver syndrome and something thats causing the hips and scoliosis. My youngest had two things but we never found out what the second thing was till he was an adult and i was diagnosed first He has cayler cardiofacial syndrome and ehlers danlos syndrome.CCS is a 22q11.2 microdeletion syndrome. EDS is a genetic problem as well.
It’s not actually milk, it’s a nutritionally complete formula feed, as she couldn’t eat enough. The formula feed can be rough on many people though, so she may have struggled to intake enough through her tube to sustain herself
It's probably the type of formula like you find for babies, except specialized for her age and condition. Boost and Ensure are also formulas, for adults.
I’ve heard that giving HGH to a child will make them grow faster to their final height, but it will not make them any taller than you would gave been. I have also heard of children who have taken it and had fatal heart attacks in their 20’s.
Making her taller or any child with the syndrome, taller does not make them cognitively the same age as the others her age. if you’re still brushing their teeth and doing everything for them, they’re still a toddler. It doesn’t matter their height. You can adjust a stool to their height to the sink if they’re not mentally matured, it doesn’t matter how tall they are if they can’t do it own their own they are still immature
I have noticed, watching these kinds of shows, that most patients end up in America with our "terrible" healthcare system while their countries have that wonderful universal healthcare system.
A universal, healthcare system is essential, unfortunately in Australia, although we have one, it is getting a little more privatised every year 😢 Having said that, hospitals do cover everything but seeing specialist and general practitioners does sometimes cost money and it is effectively some people’s access. I wish we were expanding it rather than reducing it because we do not want the American system, it’s horrible 😢 Sadly, it’s going to be some years before Americans can even hope for universal care.
@ we don’t have pro ban medical care. Hospitals are free, follow ups with hospitals are free, you make part payments for some doctors and specialists. If you have private health cover, you can use the private system too but pro bono is only for lawyers, not medical care.
The terrible thing about America is the price gouging...its the fact you have to pay. In addition, just by population size, rare disorders are more frequent so there is more likely prior experience for medical specialists. Children come from all over the world to be treated here in the UK too. Great Ormond Street is a prime example. The difference here is you dont have to sell your house to get excellent care for your sick child.

Wishing these children a happy fulfilling life. Would be great to get a follow up in 10 years maybe
It has been ten years. Just look her up.
Beautiful child. Apart from the treatments she seems oblivious to the drama going on around her. Such innocence.
They are such gorgeous little girls ! So adorable.
Can't they put wheels on the backpack so it can be pulled?
Where I live you can buy those kind of backpacks lately.. but I don't know when this was filmed exactly.

The formula usually has a ton of calories, however I think there’s benefits to blending real foods.

Name one. I don't know of any. My friend's daughter took it until she reached five feet tall. BTW, it's growth hormone.

$1.38 a gallon for gas this must’ve been made a long time ago. I wish they had another video following those children as they got older.
I'm thinking that is per litre, not gallon.
Hm so being small isn’t bad, but the sclerosis. The Documemtary is older, maybe there are better treatments now
How tall did they say she was ?
I dont understand, was there some reason she was being given milk every day instead of solid diet? 🤔
She's not eating anywhere near enough food as she has such a tiny appetite. It's part of her condition, so the g tube allows her to get more calories

Why does she live on milk rather than prescription liquid food in the tube.
I believe she does get nutritional supplements not milk. The narrator is just calling it milk.

i"m wondering why Amelie is still sleeping in a cot.
I'm guessing because she's still as small as a baby so if she were to roll out of a regular bed while sleeping she could be very hurt.
Most little children have beds with bars and open at the end to climb out themself
Wonder if a rolling suitcase or backpack would do better for her.
Car seat!!!! Why allow her to have her face out of the vehicle?
No, on the growth hormones!
