I had spacers when I was 12 but then I never braces (until now as an adult). Are spaces sometimes used without braces or was I supposed to get braces as child and my parents just never did it.
yeah it’s super painful. i’m on my second day of having them and i can’t even eat bread without pain. i have a super high pain tolerance too. i don’t get braces until june 1st, so i’m just hoping they stay in and the pain gets better. the top back left one i have feels like it’s in the wrong place or like it’s going to come out but my ortho told me it would be fine if it did?
my top left is poking about a bit at the bottom so when i bite i can feel it and my doctor said the same and he also said that if they fall out on accident it’s okay

After the spacers is put on, it pushes all other teeth and it hurts, specially the front 2 bottom teeth. Does it affect those front teeth? After the molars move and space is created, it just pushes other teeth where there is no space in the mouth, where will they go, aren't they just getting affected? And how long do we need to keep the spacers? I am just getting started in my braces journey and have questions about many things. It would be very helpful if you would answers these question.

I've had spacers for 2 days and oh god help me my teeth have been in pulsating agony for the 2 days I've had them I haven't been able to sleep very good, ibuprofen doesn't even work! 😭 I had to get 8 spacers *Edit~* I CAN'T EVEN EAT SWEET STUFF OR MY TEETH HURTS!!!!! The only thing I've been able to eat without it hurting my teeth is mashed potatoes.

Update: after almost 1 month of braces + bite plate (which was definitely worse than spacers) they took of the bite plate, and now I have TPA. It's not that bad. 🙏
In my case putting spacers are not very painful but a little painful ( difficulty to chew )😌 I'm gonna put my bands on the next day I don't know how is it 🥴🤞
i got them for now my dentist said “come back tomorrow for braces” THEY HURT SO MUCH thank God i have them for a day people over here got it for weeks but the PAIN
@@xftdeditor sooo they hurt way less than i expected!! day 1 was the most brutal for me but by day 2 the pain was completely gone. however one of the rubber bands did snap around 6 hours after they put it on so maybe that’s why it was so painless for me lol. i went back to the dentist on day 2 to get a new band but they said my teeth had already moved enough(!!) so they just took the impression right away loll the molar bands didn’t hurt at all, it was just a strong pressure on the tooth and the impression took like 30 seconds. i assume that you’ll be pretty sore when you get your actual metal expanders, but the jaw expansion part will probably be more painful than the molar bands themselves. hope this helps 😽

After the spacers have been removed, your metal bands will be placed and if that goes well, your actual braces will be put on
