You say Master of Myriad Forms overlaps with Mask of Many Faces, but you can just switch out Mask of Many Faces for another invocation when you level up.
Seriously. Has Tulok ever done one of these build videos where he alctually does swap out older spells known or Invocations for new ones? Or, for simplicity's sake, he could have just skipped Mask of Many faces in the build progression entirely, since it's an illusion instead of a transfiguration, so not entirely serving the design goal. Being a Changeling is enough for the early levels. Sculptor of Flesh for mid levels.
I just wanted to thank you for doing these Steven Universe builds! I had never seen the show before hand but seeing your videos gave me the push I needed to look into the series and realize it was something I would enjoy. I know not every video is not for everyone but it's really nice to find something new and support a content creator you like at the same time.
Well, there's an episode of Steven Universe called "Cat fingers" that sounds like sculptor of flesh and IS like a horror movie. Not in a good way. Caution is advised.
*Amethyst* A changeling warlock who has fully embraced human cultures, especially professional wrestling and the consumption of all the different kinds of food out there. More importantly, she is a skilled shapeshifter and can handle a whip very effectively.
I assumed “Help Garnet, Pearl, and Shaggy get their critical hits off” was a MultiVersus reference. Then I checked the video date and realized Tulok is just a very portent wizard
Prediction: Changeling hexblade warlock with all of the invocations that allow you to modify your appearance and body, as well as the eldritch blast invocations that push and pull you. Maybe a bit of bard in there cause its SU, but I'm not sure what subclass.
I am genuinely surprised that it is not 18 bard for true polymorph, but I like the route you went! I forgot that warlocks had the healing and polymorphing requirements for this!
Okay, Amethyst, one of my favorite characters from Steven Universe. I'll probably be lightyears off but it should still be fun. Race: Not sure if Warforged can physically be the size of Amethyst so Warforged if they can, probably some kind of Dwarf if they can't. Background: Though she's generally very happy go lucky she was originally created to be a soldier so the soldier background would be useful. Stats: #1: Charisma: She kind of acts as the secondary heart/comic relief of the gems with Steven serving as the primary. #2: Strength: Though she came out shorter than expected due to a lack of material (I think that was the reason) she is still designed to be a warrior gem like Jasper and is probably one of the physically strongest of the gems realistically. #3: Constitution: She's also incredibly tough, Once again, being a similar type of gem to Jasper who can take hits from Garnet she would have some pretty decent defense. #4: Dexterity: Her primary weapon is a whip/flail and in 5e a whip is a finesse weapon. #5: Intelligence: Amethyst is not unintelligent. Take, once again comparing her to Jasper, something she hates on the show, Jasper who is one of the Gem's greatest warriors but is also a skilled fighter, and a great tactician. It's just that Intelligence isn't all that important to this build. #6: Wisdom: Amethyst is headstrong and doesn't always think things through, tending to rush headfirst into danger while throwing caution to the wind, like in some of her later fight's with, again, Jasper where she was emotionally unbalanced and kept throwing herself against the much more calm Jasper and got thoroughly defeated multiple times. Class(es) - I'm thinking Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer: The subclass doesn't matter too much, the class gives some of the additional durability that she would have but we're mostly here for Alter Self which is a good stand in for gem shapeshifting which Amethyst does more of than any other gem and with greater creativity. This doesn't fully cover her abilities though because Alter self doesn't change your basic shape but she can such as turning into a horse and a helicopter, so for those more in-depth spells we go down Sorcerer a bit until we get to Polymorph which will cover her more extreme shapeshifting. - Moon Druid: The Moon druid's Wild Shape put's in even more wacky shapeshifting shenanigans to what Amethyst can possibly do. - Kensei Monk: She's a skilled fighter and her abilities seem a bit more Monk-y than Fightery to me. Her sonic rip off spin dash, her flaming whips, etc. To be fair, really the shapeshifting spells are the only real in-character spells but that's not a big problem here. Of course having guessed this Tulok is 100% DEFINATELY going to make her a Bard and do with her kind of what he did with Ben with True Polymorph. Oh well. Okay Tulok, show me the Bugbear Bard/Paladin/Warlock/Ranger/Artificer!
I can't really see him as anything other than a Simic Hybrid Monk (With Nimble Climber and later Grappling Appendages as your Animal Enhancements). There's an argument to be made for a Paladin (Conquest) dip considering the conquesting he did and the fear he inspired. I'm not sure if you can -technically- use Divine Smite on unarmed attacks, but your DM will let you if they're cool. Long Death Monk is definitely the way to go as it gives you a way to 'eat' your opponent right away (3rd level feature Touch of Death). You also get a fighting style from Paladin and Blind Fighting seems most sensible to me. The only issue with this build is that Monks need Wisdom and Kaneki clearly failed an important Insight check early on. You could focus Dexterity first and then pump Wisdom up later on as a semi-roleplay solution.
Could also have taken Pact of the Tome for Thorn Whip, but Eldritch Smite is at least a good knockdown effect for some extra flavor while using an actual whip. Too bad the only other way to get a Charisma-based Thorn Whip is a minimum of 6 levels of Lore Bard. 30 foot range feels just about right for how she uses her whips, so the 120 of Eldritch Blast is kinda overkill, even if it is a pretty easy solution combined with the Pact of the Blade for the close range uses of her whips. ...As someone who's played a Celestial Warlock with Pact of the Tome for additional divine magic thematic cantrips and rituals while running Spirit Shroud, though, shotgun Eldritch Blast is fantastically amazing enough that Pact of the Blade is unnecessary even if you do want to be a close range combatant. Just grab the Gunner feat (or Crossbow Expert, but Gunner includes +1 Dex) if you're afraid of relying on party members to stand between you and the enemy while attacking from 10 feet all the time. Though, Green Flame Blade is a good backup if you want to put off getting that feat for ASIs.
I was sorta expecting eldritch knight/rogue for sneak attack with whip, a fighting style for grappling attack as a maneuver, and your weapon bond being the summoning, but this works really well
Episode 272 of the Fire Emblem stats: Amethyst. She's great at heavy armor and swords (specifically whip swords). She's weak at brawling and lances due to how Pearl and Garnet work. Out of the Crystal Gems, she has the best dexterity and defenses but the worst in terms of magic.
Not every Warlock needs an Eldritch Blast, min-maxing is a shackle that keeps you from telling a good story, and if this were MY build I'd give her the Unscarred or Anvilwrought gifts from "Mythic Odysseys Of Theros." Gems are space-rocks... that makes them a living construct. And "Unscarred" is great if you want your melee-badass to not die.
You say Eldritch Blast isn't in character. I use the fact that you used it for Banjo-Kazooie's eggs and Wesker's gun to say that it works for her whip as well. Just grab Agonizing Blast and Eldritch Spear. Let's just say you use your gem powers to make your whip range incredibly long.
I personally love playing an eldritch archer which is a hex blade warlock with a first level fighter dip, so I can fire off big damage with eldritch smite from over 100 feet away.
What a fun character! I know it might seem like biting off more than you can chew, but I think you could really do an amazing job making an Anderson Cooper build! Please make it happen!

For flavouring pact of the blade Not much shapeshifting but she can do it. but at level 17 you get simulacrum holo pearl via the wish spell Overall i think she'd be a hella fun character to play for a SU oneshot.
You could potentially flavour your eldritch blast as a magical whip, specially if you take the invocations to push and pull with it. But it is up to your DM wether the flavour makes sense or not. As a DM myself I've seen weirder, eldritch blast just being the warlock's sword stretching and bending to hit a target for example.
I haven't watched Steven universe so I have no idea how accurate this build is other than the fact that Tulok is good at this so I'm assuming it's as accurate as it can be
Polymorph on self is great when you first get it, because when you can first cast it (as a primary caster anyways) you can hit Giant Ape right away. And then that's it, that's the best form you can every get with Polymorph. After that, it's best used to turn your enemies into killer whales. They can't move towards you to attack, and you have an hour to figure out a better solution.
I expected a Dwarf. I didn't even think a changeling would be necessary with all the Warlock morphing tricks: I did guess Warlock right, so I got that going for me.
A youtuber name Tabletop Nephilim did one for Maple. He also does what he calls breaking character builds like doing most damage in one hit, and highest AC.
You could use Eldritch Blast in place of Pact of the Blade and reflavour it as a magic whip you conjure to smack people with. Because flavour is fun and good and Eldritch Blast is good
I made a warlock that didn't use eldritch blast. I was making a hexblood(ua) Hexblade and I found that toll the dead could deal out some nice damage, so I would use the Hex spell to give disadvantage on wisdom and barrage the with the cantrip.

Honestly, I'd make Amethyst a Warforged. She doesn't eat and sleep because she needs to, she does it because she enjoys eating and sleeping. Then you don't have as much overlap with the transformation invocations.
If you wanted to be effective with your racial option, sure, but Amethyst sure isn't. And at least you get +1 AC instead of the quickly overshadowed shapeshifting.
Build Takeo Goda from My Love Story by Kazune Kawahara. Every party needs a tank; a big rough and tumble bruiser. But sometimes we need a big lovable lug with a heart of gold and muscles of steel. Goals 1. Super physic: Takeo is a hulking freshman able to run marathons and lift steel support beams. 2. Intimidation: your not angry you just look scary. But with a build and face like that it's a mirical you have a group to begin with. 3. Will Power: You're not the sharpest tool in the shed. But what you lack in smarts you make up for with blinding passion. Race: Takeo is described as the red oni and since dnd is pickie with oni, a half orc or orc variant will do. Class: Takeo is a skilled judo fighter and his sumo like wrestling moves, coupled with speed and endurance. To me that spells a monk with some wrestling moves, waiting till sumo is added to the game.
If you're taking suggestions on here still Entrapta from She-Ra and the Princesses of power could be interesting, maybe a similar hybrid with her hair being the extra limbs?
Genuine question, even if dual wielding sucks, can you conjure two pact weapons at once or would you have to play this build with a pact weapon whip in one hand and a regular whip in the other?
I believe according to RAW, you can only conjure one pact weapon at a time. And since the Warlock doesn't get proficiency in martial weapons, you would have to pick up a level in a martial class like fighter (which would give you a fighting style)or paladin (which would give you extra healing and an ability to detect extraplanar" threats). Youd also need the dual wielder feat, since normally you can only dual wield light weapons, which the whip is not. If you've got a more lax DM, you might be able to work something out, but otherwise stick to one whip.
@@coolroachbugs I checked, you are proficient with the pact weapon while you wield it, but you would need the proficiency to double wield. Thanks for the clarification of everything else.
I forgot, have you made the Pearl build and it somehow got removed or have you just not gotten to her yet? I can’t seem to find her now and I’m not sure if I just imagined there was a video for her.
I know this isn't the Patreon, but I really hope you do Jacob Twilight because i just made a werewolf character for a campaign I'm about to start, and I'd like to see what someone else does with a similar prompt. (We're starting at level 3, so my werewolf is Monk 1/Moon Druid 2.)
Like the absolute fool I am I saw this and thought, “Ah surely it will be a Druid or wizard” this is why I don’t have the TH-cam channel about building characters

Build Takeo Goda from My Love Story by Kazune Kawahara. Every party needs a tank; a big rough and tumble bruiser. But sometimes we need a big lovable lug with a heart of gold and muscles of steel.
Goals
Race:
Takeo is described as the red oni and since dnd is pickie with oni, a half orc or orc variant will do.
Class:
Takeo is a skilled judo fighter and his sumo like wrestling moves, coupled with speed and endurance. To me that spells a monk with some wrestling moves, waiting till sumo is added to the game.
Cannot help but wonder how Tulok would build Dean Winchester...
Steven Universe? oh boy our next build is getting a true strike.
Finally the content i want
I'm pretty sure that the +3 to charisma has since been changed, but other than that great video.
Kind of wondering what spell is used for your fusion concept. Polymorph into something Garnet or Pearl casts on?
If you're taking suggestions on here still Entrapta from She-Ra and the Princesses of power could be interesting, maybe a similar hybrid with her hair being the extra limbs?
You should do one for Blue Marvel or Skaar
Favorite Crystal Gem! Yay!
Unfortunately, Warlocks only get one Pact Weapon. It's the Eldritch Knight that gets to have two Bonded Weapons.
@@coolroachbugs I checked, you are proficient with the pact weapon while you wield it, but you would need the proficiency to double wield.
Thanks for the clarification of everything else.
@@marmato9332 Yea, I probably could've made that part a little clearer. Ah well, glad to be at least a little help
So is anyone gonna point out the awesome edit done at 6:18
You’re going to do a Twilight build? So you’re subjecting yourself to the Twilight films?
You poor man.
Sung jin woo from solo leveling would be an interesting build to see
-Variant Human (Telekinetic feat)
-Necromancer/Assassin mix (at least 14/6 for the Necromancer capstone)
-Max out Int and Dex.
Thoughts on maybe making a video for Zagreus from Hades? I think it'd be an interesting video and challenge.
Souron or talion from shadow of mordor
I kinda want to see you build Prince Noctis from FFXV.
Warlock fits there too but we need an element spell for each of the three he casts.
Tulok already has done Noctis. It is a reasonably accurate build.
Hellsing ultimate alucard build when
Hey you should do a Nathan Drake build
Just make EB a really long and spicy whip
I am once again asking for your build for Stroheim, Mettaton or the Medic.
Up 4 Stroheim
But frfr? Legally Blonde the Musical slaps
Overwatch Orisa, Ashe and Brigette when?
Hmmm i wonder how hard it is to make claptrap from borderlands in DnD
Ok, but isn't she literally a warforged
Please do a Raistlin Majere build!
So is Garnet gonna be in the mix?
Asking for a friend.
He's actually already done Garnet
Really, no fighter? Isn't it a SU lore thing that amethysts are bred specifically as warriors?
Well Amethyst is a faulty quartz that specifically isn’t good at fighting like they are
Algorithm, algorithm.
Beginning of video guess: Barbarian?? (Zealot)
Edit: Wow, way off. lol Had no idea how to build this. Good one!
I’m curious about how you would mechanically pulled off fusion in D&d then again that would probably be broken though.
What do you use for a helicopter In dnd ? Dragon or roc should be large enough to give the crystal gems a ride.
