Silence the Sea might be the most challenging perfume I’ve tried, you’re right about sensitivities to certain sea notes. I’d love to hear your thoughts on melt my heart after giving it some wears…I find the chocolate fuses into a real buttery leather/orris concoction.
I gave Melt My Heart a full wear this weekend and you're absolutely right. Buttery is a great word as I kept thinking that the iris gives this creamy unctuous feel to the perfume. The sweetness is nicely restrained, but for me it is borderline too sweet/too gourmand for my taste because it is literally making my mouth water, but it is a very addictive and comforting smell. I'd probably place it 3rd (behind Fall Into Stars and Dead of Night) of ones I'd buy if I stumble upon a stack of cash. For gourmand lovers, I can totally see this being a holy grail.
I have Lost in Flowers and Melt My Heart. Lost in Flowers is my favourite overtly floral perfume, and Melt My Heart is the only gourmand I like. People seem to love Fall into Stars but I find it very peppery; I will give my sample another chance. Dead of Night has a noticeable genuine oud, and I think it is miles above all of the synthetic oud fragrances. I’m not against synthetic molecules, it’s just that oud accords are scratchy and do not come close to replicating the real thing. I find that the base of Dead of Night is a soup of woody synthetics that last until you bathe; I’m pretty sure oud does not do that, having worn many pure ouds from Ensar. I am fortunate to have oud fragrances by Henry Jacques, which use the highest quality ouds and they are not highly fermented like the oud used in Dead of Night or The Night, and I just can’t go back. I know not everyone can afford those, so I would say that Dead of Night is in a nice tier a few rungs below the very best. A warning to beginners: it is very much an acquired taste. I find that you are a thoughtful and overall excellent reviewer and I hope you keep going.
Are there any places you can check the batch code? There are some weird (good) offers out there that might be fake, but I can't find sites selling fake Strangelove NYC perfumes, so I'd like to check the Batches.

Ooh nice, yea I'm liking what I smell on the dry down on strip. This weekend I'll wear it!
