I’m glad you picked up on the angst of the cello next to Ebenholz in the song. Ebenholz was a flautist alongside his cellist relative Kreide who passed away from oripathy (the mineral disease present in most of the game’s story) with his body being used as an originium arts catalyst by the antagonists of his story. The names Ebenholz and Kreide themselves are likely references to the ebony keys of the piano and the chalk used in string instrument maintenance

Their battle theme is literally "Flight of the Bumblebee" (SPOILER) The character's name is Ebenholz and the song saying "Under my skin" is literally what it means, cuz the Witch King is constantly trying to take over him, whispering in his ear thus "Killing him from within"

It's just a great thing to see. If you're doing more Arknights, there's actually another piece heavily inspired by classical music called "Winter Absolution." It's in direct reference of the Gregorian chant, "Pange Lingua," and I think it's one of the best, definitely one of the most unique, in Arknights' repertoire.
Winter absolution is a pleasure to hear no doubt, what a love of arknights music is it's wide range of musical styles and is always telling something about someone about somewhere or about a certain moment or cirscuntance, how many times i just paused to hear the music i lost the count .

Ah, Standchen, the EP or character leitmotif for our boy, Ebenholz. The EP isn't released yet for the EN server, just for CN for now. The event, where this song and character were released, is called "Lingering Echoes," and from the trailer it is heavily music based, heck, the music that they used for the trailer started slow with a female singer then later transitioning to an orchestra as they introduced the new characters. Great trailer to watch, again, Hypergryph does not mess with their music.
I might also recommend you take a look at "Radiant" and "Operation Lead Seal" (or any of the "Operation" songs - they are lobby themes for Contingency Contract events, think Events where you can apply buffs to the enemies or debuffs to your Operators for better rewards) Arknights has a wide span of genres, so there is a ton to look at, depending on what you feel like.
i can't wait for you to check out more of their ost, it's one of the cases where the tracks aren't just background noise but something truly enriching for the fun you have in the game
Dear Marco. The only thing I can ask of you is to listen to the song "Прощание". It’s another Arknights ost, that just left me devastated. As a person who is completely far from that kind of music, I was incredibly shocked by this composition. Honestly, I just sat there, feeling empty, and thought about what I just heard (song is performed in my native language) for a while. I hope that you will appreciate this work of art.
Now that the event has been released there is an additional context, you see Ebenholz, the featured character of the song essentially has an eldritch voice being, a work of the monstrous witch king residing in his head. After the featured event was over it turns out the voice cant bear rock rock music and is quiet when its up soEbenholz went well then, Imma do a rock opera to spite you!
Thank you, thank you so much for covering more arknights music!!! Getting a professional opera singer react to my favorite songs feels surreal. Arknights music has a lot of genres including pop, hip hop, jazz, ballad, rock metal, techno, and orchestral songs. If I may, I'm very excited for you to hear arknights' most iconic theme called Towerfierce. It is composed by Go Shiina, the composer who made music for God Eater and Demon Slayer. Another epic song I'm excited to see is Arknights' own bloodborne inspired song, called Voices. Again, thank you so much for checking out standchen!! ❤
Nice! Recommended this in the last Arknights reaction video, probably just a coincidence lol. Arknights has so many other tracks that are great and so Diverse. I strongly recommend Winter Absolution, it’s got this sacred vibe to it combined with the Greek Vocals. Another one of my favorite is “And Yet It Wines”, Traditional Chinese instrument mixed with Jazz
Thanks for the insight about this song, it's really nice to hear that from someone who understand it. I'll wait for your another arknights reaction, especially "awaken"
It’s so mind blowing and hits different when hearing a song and then seeing a music proffesional discuss the song and it’s origins and what it stands for. It really makes me appreciate the music and effort Arknights puts into there songs. Anytime Arknights drops a new genre I always walk out with a new genre of music I enjoy.
Marco, I love Arknights music a LOT. Like many comments already said Arknights is just the facade of a really good music company. And you wouldn't belive how hyped I am for more reaction's to Arknights Music, especially some of the Character Theme Songs, since the lyrics of the song are essentially telling the Story of the Character. (Also I want to see how much you can guess the personality and motivation of the Characters based on there Songs)
I found your channel a week or so ago and am just hooked on listening to your breakdowns. You do such a great job. I would recommend checking out the Arknights song 'Awaken' if you get the chance.

People have been raving over Arknights music, so I'm glad you're covering it. This is my first time listening as well, and it's just so good. On a separate note, there's a really cool video I stumbled upon called "Mozart vs Pokémon" and it really highlights the evolution of classical music into videogame music.
Its wild. Not very familar with this type of music or arknights, but been exploring all their amazing songs. This one was on repeat for a few days and I thought to myself this reminds me of Marco, and here it is on the channel! Awesome to learn about the background of the song, I didnt know it had a bit of history
standchen.... such a beautiful song... tbh, I didn't expect to hear this classic song in tower defense game at first but well, this is arknights after all, always full of surprised. I'm excited to see how reaction in another Arknight song, try "minima" or "invitation of wine boss ost", those two are really cool as heck! note : I really like when you also sing standchen. it's really rad! hope to see your another sing again!
The event is finally out and found this video in my recommendation. I learned about this song thanks to you, you are also an amazing singer Hypergyph should HIRE YOU!!
I really hope you can react to Arknights Shining's theme "Winter Absolution" to hear your thoughts about it. The song is sung in Latin, and it is a rendition of a famous hymn "Pange Lingua" but with a twist
Damn, I never went and listened to this song before now. Maybe that was for the best since it took me a good long time to start tolerating English lyrics in video game soundtracks for some reason. I was absolutely not prepared for the whole ass electric guitar and everything. Hypergryph is truly beyond comprehension. Funniest part of it all is that, as far as I’m aware, they actually are a music company lol That or the people they employ do music for a lot of other things, not completely sure They just up and decided to make Arknights once upon a time and holy SHIT. The music, the story, character designs, audio effects, animations…all of it is done by Hypergryph as far as I know and all of it is of simply astounding quality.
i love arknights and his music no matter the genre they release its always interesting to hear, marco i love your reactions and today i learned one or two things about classical music, didn't knew the first part of the song was already a fragment of an already existing song wow! and a very popular one, can't wait to see you reacting to Requiem and Прощание from this game
Arknights is just a music company that happened to have a game with a ridiculously good cast and story added on lmao, i love just how stupidly diverse and well done every piece is and every time a new char gets announced half the hype for me is just trying to m Imagine what beautiful work of art the music associated with them is going to be like lol
Oho, I’m not too familiar with Schubert (tho I definitely have to change that) so it’s very interesting to find out that Arknighth’s Standchen is a variation on an existing song. Loved its vibe so I’m sure I’d quite enjoy the original too! Loved the reaction too :3
I haven't looked through your channel but Kings Raid has some very beautiful and powerful music that embodies the story, the characters heart break, the resolve and change, and the desperation that they experience. Would be cool to see you react to that.
Wow what a coincidence, just listened to this song a few days ago and thought it was beautiful, played Arknights for a few weeks and gotta say their operator themes are really good
Yes, more Arknights music! Love hearing your impressions of them with the perspective and insight of a musical professional, and I've discovered many rocking tunes through your channel! If you enjoy reacting to more of Arknights' soundtrack, I'd like to suggest more from the Abyssal Hunters' story (Stultifera Navis: Awaken and The Golden Age Will Return Again, and Caerula Arbor's boss battle theme 02) but there's really too many bangers to mention in that game's soundtrack. Cheers!
Arknights is a musical game disguising itself as tower defence game with great plot full of deaths, despair, partings, betrayal, the darkness of hearts and..., sometimes goofiness.
Since I didn’t see others mention it, here’s some detail on the character this song is the theme of. Spoiler warning for anyone waiting for this event’s release in English. As the song implies, it’s a classic tale of tragedy. The pictured character is Ebenholz, one of two individuals who survived a decade of child experimentation. Despite being close, they separate once free in order to forget their past. Years later they meet again but after becoming close once more, lasting effects from the experiment start corrupting Eben’s friend. Ultimately leading to Eben having to kill his first friend/“brother” to stop his endless pain and rampage.
Love this content, Arknights is basically a music company masquerading as a game. Would LOVE to see more Arknights content covered, there's so many different genres.
This is one of my favourite EP from Arknights tbh, a leitmotif for a charcter named Ebenholz who had a pretty depressing story in the Lingering Echoes event, as you can see in the lyric...
Oh wow, what a gorgeous song, I love it! THat's another cool thing about following this channel, I'm introduced to songs from games I don't play, and sometimes we have gems like this one. I was also surprised to see that the singer is Brazilian, too! I don't think Ive heard of him before, but that name is 200% BR haha. Apparently he's indeed a more metal-inclined singer, which shows a lot here. So cool!
Hell yeah i love classical music. The first ever piece of classical music i remember listening to is Vivaldi's Four Seasons in my elementary school. Fell in love ever since \o/
Oh shit... I was wondering why I thought that music from Signalis sounded familiar: I've watched this video before, which is where I first learned about Standchen.
So it's probably been suggested a bunch, but I would love to hear your thoughts on the wild ride of a song that is Awaken. It takes heavy influence from musicals and is just a blast to listen to!
Arknights has like every genre so it's not surprising it has classical music. I'm waiting for the day they do symphonic metal. I haven't heard anything regarding this event since it hasn't released in global. The next event we are getting is Stultifera Navis, which has a sea shanty for a boss theme. If you plan on doing more Arknights music, I highly recommend duskdragon from the Who is Real? event. It uses traditional Chinese instruments as the event is for the region of the game based on China. Honestly though, it might be worth listening to the whole soundtrack for that event since its just so good.
It's funny you mention Phantom of the Opera, when there's a whole character named Phantom based around that play in the game. Would highly recommend Curtain Call and "Rglk1phantomcastle", the latter being the theme that plays during the event based around Phantom.
Bloodborne OST were the ones who awoken my taste for classics, and Arknights becomes the ones who lit my love for it. HyperGryph have always got "memed" for being a music company instead of game, solely because despite Arknights being a RTS tower defense game, the OST and BGM they made are always quite a banger!! You might want to check out the BGMs, and I recommend that you try the Boss BGM of the current event of new story campaign
It's always fun to learn classical music from you, you seem really passionate talking abt it, and I also appreciate the insight I get from listening to you. Might I recommend you Ensheath? :D
Oh wow, haven't heard this track yet, it's really nice And I once again recommend "Stay Gold", also from Arknights I think you would like it, it has a really uplifting vibe to it, imo
come from bilibili saw a china friend suggest so i come here rewatch again and saw some people suggest you can go to hear phantom and crimson solitaire ost
There's an in-game battle music in this event that plays Flight of the Bumblebee. I forget the name, but I'm sure someone in the comments would drop it in.
I don’t actively seek out classical music, but I like it when modern artists covers classic stuffs. As far as I know, My Chemical Romance did a cover of Romance
At this point, Arknights is a glorified add for a music company, so if you play Arknights, you like music, whatever the genre.
It's a long standing meme that hypergryph is a music company. Heck we already had a Collab with cytus, a rthym game.

Another one of my favorite is “And Yet It Wines”, Traditional Chinese instrument mixed with Jazz
> sees arknight music video
We eating good tonight. Still hope you give Eternal Flame from arknights a listen

Aw man, I love this song so dang much AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Thanks for the insight about this song, it's really nice to hear that from someone who understand it.
I'll wait for your another arknights reaction, especially "awaken"
It’s so mind blowing and hits different when hearing a song and then seeing a music proffesional discuss the song and it’s origins and what it stands for. It really makes me appreciate the music and effort Arknights puts into there songs.
Anytime Arknights drops a new genre I always walk out with a new genre of music I enjoy.
Oh dang, I've been really looking forward for you to react to this, this is definitely a good way to start my day!
I haven't played Arknights or anything, but I guess now i've learned a little bit more of Standchen and Schubert : )
I found your channel a week or so ago and am just hooked on listening to your breakdowns. You do such a great job.
I would recommend checking out the Arknights song 'Awaken' if you get the chance.
Thanks so much Benjamin!
I have only just discovered your channel and am absolutely loving it both as an Arknights fan and amateur musician
Thanks for the great video!
Welcome aboard!

I commented before, then deleted it because I saw you did it on your other video, then realised it was the incorrect piece, but 'Rhythm in Literature' is an excellent theme.

I love how Ständchen was done and how the background music of it. Loved you singing to it!
Your reactions and insight is immensely interesting! Been going through a bunch of your videos recently. Very well done and enjoyable.
If you havent heard I would recommend Serpent Eating The Ground from Bravely Default. One of my all time favorite.
Mhm!
I really like your explanation about standchen and again, thank you so much!
as a part of AK community, I really like you react AK music lately. please reach another Arknight music. "minima" or "awaken" or "invitation to wine boss theme"
can't wait to see your another react!
I'm totally unspoiled for Ebenholz event and it is almost here on EN server, i can't wait to actually know his story.
for whatever reason I could sadly only hear/understand 50% of your Ständchen acustic wise but the other half sounded really great/good to understand compared to so many other attempts on the german language I heared on yt^^
great job
looking forward to more ak ost/songs in the future

People have been raving over Arknights music, so I'm glad you're covering it. This is my first time listening as well, and it's just so good.
On a separate note, there's a really cool video I stumbled upon called "Mozart vs Pokémon" and it really highlights the evolution of classical music into videogame music.
I watched it!!!
@@MarcoMeatball W! How'd you like it?
I've said this every time i've heard this song, from the first time I heard the vocals; It's Kamelot lol
The event is finally out and found this video in my recommendation. I learned about this song thanks to you, you are also an amazing singer Hypergyph should HIRE YOU!!
:)
I'm so happy you listened to this one
this best male voice artist in arknights that i really love
I really hope you can react to Arknights Shining's theme "Winter Absolution" to hear your thoughts about it. The song is sung in Latin, and it is a rendition of a famous hymn "Pange Lingua" but with a twist
Golden age next? great vid as always
Funniest part of it all is that, as far as I’m aware, they actually are a music company lol
That or the people they employ do music for a lot of other things, not completely sure
They just up and decided to make Arknights once upon a time and holy SHIT. The music, the story, character designs, audio effects, animations…all of it is done by Hypergryph as far as I know and all of it is of simply astounding quality.
New subscriber and the first video on your channel I watch was the frostpunk and I love Opera
One really good one you need to react to is Arknights’ login screen theme, both the old and the new version if you want to
wow your singing voice is so good!!
Great video, as always!
Btw, I recommend you check out Awaken, the song for our beloved shark nun Specter!
i love arknights and his music no matter the genre they release its always interesting to hear, marco i love your reactions and today i learned one or two things about classical music, didn't knew the first part of the song was already a fragment of an already existing song wow! and a very popular one, can't wait to see you reacting to Requiem and Прощание from this game
Arknights is just a music company that happened to have a game with a ridiculously good cast and story added on lmao, i love just how stupidly diverse and well done every piece is and every time a new char gets announced half the hype for me is just trying to m
Imagine what beautiful work of art the music associated with them is going to be like lol
Oho, I’m not too familiar with Schubert (tho I definitely have to change that) so it’s very interesting to find out that Arknighth’s Standchen is a variation on an existing song.
Loved its vibe so I’m sure I’d quite enjoy the original too!
Loved the reaction too :3
I love how the subtitles are just "Marco sings in German" lol
Cheers!
Arknights is a musical game disguising itself as tower defence game with great plot full of deaths, despair, partings, betrayal, the darkness of hearts and..., sometimes goofiness.
looking forward to you reacting to Ensheath :D or.... maybe even covering this one? :D
I've been tricked, I've been backstabbed and I've been quite possibly... bamboozled... now inject more of this in my veins.
Standchen is definitely up there for my favourite songs Arknights has made. It's Top 5 at minimum, possibly in the Top 3.
Arknights even made Flight of the Bumblebee the most epic part about the boss fight
Arknights is literally that person who will say "Yes" after asking what genre of music they play.
Love this content, Arknights is basically a music company masquerading as a game. Would LOVE to see more Arknights content covered, there's so many different genres.
Please do more Arknights! I love your reactions to them
This is one of my favourite EP from Arknights tbh, a leitmotif for a charcter named Ebenholz who had a pretty depressing story in the Lingering Echoes event, as you can see in the lyric...
So cool!
Oooo thanks for sharing this lovely comment!
Ebenholtz E2 splash art goes hard as fuck. Love his design.
My favorite musical producer is arknights 😳
It's funny you mention Phantom of the Opera, when there's a whole character named Phantom based around that play in the game. Would highly recommend Curtain Call and "Rglk1phantomcastle", the latter being the theme that plays during the event based around Phantom.
Nice explanation about the historical story behind the song. I wanna see how you react with Arknights OST "Keep the Torch"
you must watch Arkngiths Ambience Synesthesia on this Oct 30!
Oh wow, haven't heard this track yet, it's really nice
And I once again recommend "Stay Gold", also from Arknights
I think you would like it, it has a really uplifting vibe to it, imo
come from bilibili
saw a china friend suggest so i come here rewatch again
and saw some people suggest you can go to hear phantom and crimson solitaire ost
YOOOOO ANOTHER ARKNIGTHS VID. WOOHOOO. didnt know i liked classical music outside the memes... but i guess i am
Now we need Arknights ep - requiem. It’s on Russian language and it’s so good
There's an in-game battle music in this event that plays Flight of the Bumblebee.
I forget the name, but I'm sure someone in the comments would drop it in.
I hope u give a listen to ‘winter absolution’.One of most favourite AK Eps and has quite an atmosphere.
I don’t actively seek out classical music, but I like it when modern artists covers classic stuffs. As far as I know, My Chemical Romance did a cover of Romance
I feel that you would enjoy Arknights Winter Cleansing.
I've never played Arknights, but Standchen is one of my favorites!!
