Please react to more Valve songs from their other games like “Left 4 Dead 2” and others that you haven’t saw yet.
I got a game that have music that i think you Will like its Minecraft Legends. My favorit is Horde of the bastion
These have been great!! Thank you so much 😮
@StringPlayerGamerOfficial U should check out songs from Warhammer games
Like from Mechanicus, Darktide (Mainly Darktide) and Vermintide, Jesper Kyd is an awesome composer
And Warhammer has a huge fan base ;)
@StringPlayerGamerOfficial U should check out the Hyper Light Drifter soundtrack
Cool weird electronic stuff with piano, some atmospheric some intense, Disasterpeice/Richard Vreeland is a super cool composer
the reason that "the calm" sounds similar to "ROBOTS!" is actually because they feature the same enemy, they're both are songs that show off the robots. :>
Mhm. Go watch part 1 and part 2 of my TF2 reaction videos.
Thought I left a comment for a second LMAO. Nice pfp.
they are in the same introduction video to the mvm gamemode. You could think of them as two different parts.
"The calm" before the storm :).
Robots has the in game music. The calm is the trailer music.
He really wants you to go watch part 1 and 2
After 9 years of development, it was worth the wait
Valve did themselves good when they actually cared about TF2
nice pfp
If only they continued.
I like to imagine that they spent a full year on each class. I know that's not at all the case. But it's a nice thought.
thats actually why it took 9 years every class took 1 year@@RiddleAnim
yea when i dont care about a game i give it a pretty big update only like 4 months ago
15:10 I can’t believe he got “Go Go Go” from art of war specifically. In the meet the team for soldier (where this song plays) he shouts “Go Go Go” while he charges in. He’s so insightful when it comes to music.
It's more fun for me this way. Music is my life.
@@StringPlayerGamerOfficialI bet your married to music 🤑🤑🤑
And you know the music producer did a great job when you can understand what's happening just by the song
@@StringPlayerGamerOfficialRIP Rick May
9:03 i suddenly imagine a cut in Pyro vision then 🎶 *Do you believe in magic* 🎶
🎵In a young girl's heart 🎵
🎵Like the music and freedom wherever it starts and it's magic🎵
Dreams of Cruelty is an interesting song. It's the theme of the Pyro, an Offense class that's centered around burning pretty much everything in their paths. There's a part of the song that sounds like childish laughter and there's a very good reason for that. The Pyro doesn't see the world like we do. He's sees it as a pastel-colored candyland where all the other mercs are babies in his eyes, and where he thinks he's blowing bubbles and giving them lollipops, he's actually shooting them with flare guns and chopping them up with fire axes. Also, in the trailer the song plays in, it actually transitions into "Do You Believe in Magic?" by the Lovin' Spoonful after the childish laughter.
It's pretty cool in this form. You almost think you're entering his manic state of Pyroland, but suddenly it pulls out at the last second and keeps you in the burning world.
i think the idea is moreso that Pyro is a pyromaniac in the purest sense of the word, they LOVE fire, and so they see setting everything and everyone on fire as a good thing because fire is good, setting things on fire is good, pyrovision then is not literal, its just their twisted view of the world where they see fire as a good thing
@@TokyoDrift456you literally get to see what pyro sees in his Meet the Team video, he's just schizophrenic and sees fire as literal rainbows, nothing more to it
Funny how Pyro's fire is the classes weakest aspect.
@@SolidoNaso.I’d say it’s pretty strong, but the only thing is I’d say it should deal a bit more damage. Maybe a rework is in order for the flame particles too. The only part of pyro I find annoying is the hard range cap, but even that can be improved upon with a shotgun or flare gun.
You know a game is a masterpiece when you gotta make three separate videos on the music alone 🤑
You assume I will make only 3.
At least he knows how to count to 3
@@8-Blitz The one time I've seen gaben mention the number 3 is when soldier counted to 3 using his fingers, but he probably just went "One" "One" and "One"
@@mrwashere9565 even there he struggled with it. and I think he only managed to count to 2.
@@StringPlayerGamerOfficial
I think at least a 4th TF2 video is in order for the songs A Little Heart To Heart and Intruder Alert
Could also do It Hates Me So Much, Playing With Danger, and Faster Than A Speeding Bullet
You need to do all versions of "more gun" back to back. The fact that there are three versions is a great callback to how Engineer's sentry can be upgraded to be more powerful and complex.
Watch part 1.
@@StringPlayerGamerOfficialOr you could just do the two you haven't done, that could be fine.
@@dreamwalking Not with that kind of passive aggressive tone.
@@StringPlayerGamerOfficial really just watch yo toned his ass lmao

Art of War is used in the Meet the Soldier video where he completely misquotes Sun Tzu so you were right about the reference.

@@user-zw5kt8ik2gA priesta and even a registered exorcist in one state
He got part of a quote right, he just didn't finish it
The funny part about your realization with The Calm being a callback to ROBOTS! is that The Calm actually comes first, and leads _into_ ROBOTS!, which is why The Calm ends as how ROBOTS! starts!
For Dreams of Cruelty, this part in particular- (9:01), is where they built up to "Do You Believe in Magic?" By the Lovin' Spoonful for the Meet the Pyro video.
Because what everyone else sees is entirely different from the world that Pyro sees. So when the "Do You Believe in Magic?" song plays, it's what he sees which is sunshine and rainbows.
Dreams of Cruelty is what everyone else sees: chaos and destruction.
“its just a silly shooter, dont go crazy with the music.”
mike morasky:
It's hard to suggest specific tracks. They're all worth listening to.
But I'd suggest probably...
"Mercenary Park"
"Saxon's Dilemma"
"Soldier of Dance"
"It Hates me So Much" or "RED Bread"
In that order
Thanks for taking the time to list down titles. I always need specific titles to organize into episodes.
Those are my favorite TF2 tracks, cant wait to watch the next video!
Its amazing how much of a character these meet the team songs manage to portray in such a short time, and a testament to how well the composer knows music and theory. The title 'Art of War' is of course a Sun Tzu reference, as Soldier quotes "if fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight!" In meet the soldier. It absolutely nails that marine band drumline feel and really captures the intensity of soldier's jingoistic "cheerleader for america" personality, and the fast paced intense nature of playing a rocket jumping soldier ingame.
Mike Morasky cooked with jet fuel for the TF2 soundtracks. Also, I love how "full" the original music already sounds like that it's hard to pair it with anything else, but you managed to slip your violin in. That's very impressive.
In "The Calm" soundtrack, when the electric guitar plays, It symbolizes that both teams have officially teamed up to fight against the robots, just a fun fact!
Orchestra is for RED team.
Electric guitar is for BLU team.
Holy moly! I just realized that!!!
recently just picked up alto sax after years of not playing because of your TF2 videos. thank you
👏👏👏
would probably interesting to see you reacting to the corresponding trailers, where these soundtracks are used. eg. Meet the Pyro for Dreams of Cruelty and Meet the Soldier for Art of War
in another comment he said he isn't planning on making content out of the trailers, but he did watch them
Your play harmonizes with initial soundtrack so well. I love it!
Your videos, analyses and reactions are more and more incredible!
Glad you like them! Thank you Richtheur!
@@StringPlayerGamerOfficial On the contrary, it's a great pleasure to follow your experience and your adventure! Never change, friend of Music!
The art of war in a sense is to Rick may . A legend who we lost not to long ago and was the voice of the rocket jumping America himself the soilder RIP Rick. You will be missed greatly but never forgotten.
I thought people usually attributed the rocket jump waltz to him.
I played so much TF2 and listened to the music so much when I was younger! crazy to see this game Still alive and kicking
This was a triumph
i'm making a note here "huge success"
@@souperchicken9395
@@souperchicken9395I’m making a note here: huge success.
Damn, your violin elevates the frantic percussion of The Art of War to a whole different level. You make the fight sound so passionate in an almost desperate sort of way, like we're fighting for our lives now.
For a semi-TF2 related comparison, I was reminded of the use of strings in the Blackmore's Night song used in the TF2 fragmovie called The Storm.
I recommend you take a listen to the halloween tracks "Haunted Fortress 2" and "Misfortune Teller" (even though it's a little late for halloween, they're still interesting pieces)
Edit: Also! "Intruder Alert!" is a really fun one to listen to! I recommend that one as well!
Red Bread has a good, TF2 feel to it. Together with Intruder Alert, they definitely define two ends of a spectrum, the "business" side and the "taking care of business" side.
There is also carousel of curses
@@teddy8042 I will let the entirety of the carousel of cruelly song play in full every time it starts in the menu
I do hope you'll continue with reacting to these and eventually get to the prelude to "MEDIC!". That being, "A Little Heart to Heart". Not to mention "Seduce Me!, "Intruder Alert", and "Petite Chou-Fleur"!
The Valve Studio Orchestra really outdid themselves.
this guys face is so expressive as he listens, my face was completely blank as i listened, but inside i felt the exact same emotions he showed on his face

As a brazilian Tf2 enthusiast I went completely nuts when you recognized and mentioned the batucada. A good batucada is more than enough to completely send shivers down someone spine. The pacing and the frequency of those drums just messes with your whole body.
And since I'm here I might as well send my suggestions: Deep Rock Galactic or Risk of Rain 2. Sci-fi bangers!
It takes skill from a composer to put a story into a piece, but is takes even more skill for someone to pick out so much of the story; especially with so much accuracy! You're so in-tune with the composers of these tracks one could think you were one of them!
The way this guy moves his head to the music
You can just see how he feels the music, love to see that stuff
Finally, a proper reaction vieo. A reaction video is supposed to add depth to the topic by either explaining it, giving more details, insights and sometimes by showing the content creator's opinion. And you nailed all of it. You even gave it a huge bonus by playing your... idk... "violin" and turning the artwork into a freaking masterpiece. Good job!
he plays an electric violin
@@leo0six almost got it right, thank you
Recommend you check out the Half Life 2 soundtrack “Something Secret Steers us” and “Combine Harvester” are my favorites
yes
Definetly! Good recommendation!
Also fun fact about The Art of War, it's made out of the sounds when a vote to kick a player is made
I loved you violin addition for "The Calm." That was beautifully done! The others were fun too, but that section for "The Calm" was my favorite.
As for other video game music to check out I'd say the music for Frostpunk is definitely worth looking into if you haven't already. It's a gorgeous string heavy OST. "The City Must Survive" is the "boss" soundtrack of the game and very fun. The main theme sets the tone for the game and my favorite track, "The Darkest of Days," hits a feeling I'm not quite sure of how to describe other than you hope to make it through it aren't sure if it will happen.
I really want a series now where you react to the actual videos and see just how good the music really fits to the on-screen assemble
The guy who's behind this music (Mike Moraski) did the sound track also for Half-Life Alyx. Very synthy. Credits song made me tear up
and also the portal 2 OST. pretty talented guy
The way the synths from ROBOTS! started and his eyes just popped open... oh I love this soundtrack
8:54 One shudders to imagine what inhuman thoughts lie behind that mask... what dreams of chronic and sustained cruelty?
fun fact about dreams of cruelty: it's one of the songs featured in the meet the pyro video. specifically the parts where the pyro is shown off as menacing. (btw it would be cool if you reacted to Roar of the jungle dragon from the calamity mod)
I'd love to see a Splatoon 3 Ost reaction, the music throughout the entire franchise has always been very unique and memorable
i loved your playing over dreams of cruelty, it really made me consider the song in a different way
a lot more to this music than I thought there was! thank you for explaining so well!
15:21 i want a full version this is amazing
9:04 Honestly feels slightly empty when it doesn't transition to "Do you believe in magic".
The Art of War is easily one of the most intense soundtracks I've heard in any game.
I recommend listening to some soundtracks from an indie game called "CrossCode", specifically "Valse d'Ahoge", "Ba'kii Kum" and "Vermillion Wasteland", I think you'd enjoy it a lot,
This is a shot in the dark but hoping SPG would do a reaction to the guitar pieces NPCs play in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series, such an atmospheric game, and those moments where youre sitting round a campfire, recovering from your last gun battle, nursing your character's hunger and injuries, then an NPC whips out a guitar and starts playing, it really makes the game.
"He was a good Stalker" by far one of the best guitar pieces that came out of the STALKER series.
The musical additions you make are always awesome.
OH YEAH PART 2!. Was hoping for this
Part 3*
great video! love your analyses, and seeing you reacting to the OST of my favorite game feels good when you realize you're not the only one that thinks its good.
Your reactions are mesmerizing to watch. Love your in-depth insight to each piece
You have to listen to "Soldier Of Dance", it's one of, if not, THE most iconic tf2 track next to its theme song
You should really do a reaction video on the Frostpunk soundtrack. The Game is about surviving in an apocolyptic winter set in the 1800s as the last city on earth. I recommend listening to 'the city must survive' from the main game, to 'the last autumn' and the 'on the edge' theme from the two dlc's. It's entirely orchestral, and my personal favourite soundtrack of all time. I always love watching these reaction videos, because I love learning about what makes the music I listen to so captivating.
I love these videos, they're making me realize how unique each of these themes are when I otherwise didn't pay mind to them. I find that "Faster Than a Speeding Bullet" might be a good listen
I was waiting this type of video! Thanks!
I'd also suggest listening to "Saxton's Dilemma" or the "Mercenary Park" they are a little bit underrated and my personal favorites. However, there are also halloween themed musics too like the "Misfortune Teller" or "Haunted Fortress 2".
I love the jacket you had on in this video.
I fear no man, but that... thing... it scares me.
void stranger is an indie game barely anyone seems to know about, but it has a great chip tune/symphonic soundtrack (i hope i used those words correctly lol). songs that i recommend are "void symphony", "buzzing boogie", and "voided". bth, when you were playing over the art of war it was sick, you really added even more emotional intensity than there was before. it would be cool to see a full version in the future.
Tf2 definitely has a really interesting soundtrack! I'd also recommend you the Blazing Beaks or Subnautica soundtracks, both create an awesome atmosphere.
always glad to see another video!
(p.s, i think you'll enjoy the track called "more gun")
Watch part 1 and part 2 of my TF2 reaction videos.
My favorite TF2 song is "It hates me so much"
Every time i hear the song calm or robots I literally intrinsically tap my foot in time with the way the robots rattle which I guess follows the baseline
The Calm is actually a theme used in the trailer for the Mann vs Machine mode, in which nearly every single class form up a team and the music progresses with the mercenaries joining up, which is is nearly ecstatic to see.
One thing about dreams of cruelty is “ do you believe in magic” starts playing half way through in the trailer it was used in”
I'd love to see some music from the game Wizard with a gun, I recommend, ballad of the bog and take your shot and chaos reigns
One crazy good soundtrack that you'd never think you'd find on that game is for GunGirl 2. Josh Whelchel has it available on Bandcamp. It's hard to know what tracks to recommend... Opening Themes, No Looking Back!, 12-Gauge Rave, Kyrie Immanis, Anomaly (with Rachel Denlinger on violin), Phantasmagoria Ex, Heartless Abyss and Libera Me (also with Rachel Denlinger), Sing Gloria. But plenty more great stuff.
I highly recommend ost for first medieval total war, it can be divided into arabic, viking and european parts of soundtrack
The Calm is always great in how it perfectly conveys the Mann vs Machine trailer it's from even without the visuals.
As for recommendations, here's three tracks from Touhou 14: Double Dealing Character that you could listen to:
- Dullahan Under the Willows (Sekibanki's theme)
- Primordial Beat - Pristine Beat (Raiko's theme)
- Inchling of the Shining Needle - Little Princess (Shinmyoumaru's theme)
Touhou mentioned *Yui celebrates*
shinmy!!!! banki!!!!!!!!!!
I'd one up you on that and go Touhou 10: Mouthain of Faith.
Fall of Fall (Stage 4 Theme)
The Primal Scene of Japan the Girl saw (Stage 5 Theme)
Cemetary of Onbashira - Grave of Being (Stage 6 Theme)
OR
Dark Side of Fate (Mina's Theme)
Faith is for the Transient People (Sanae's Theme)
Native Faith (Suwako's Theme)
tbh the calm is one of my all time favorite tf2 songs
The Luigi's Mansion bit you did made me think "Yeah Luigi would probably cry out for Mario being face to face with the Pyro."
The Calm is used in the mvm trailer.
I'm amazed by how you assume the plot pretty accurately just based on the music. I'd love to see another video featuring the Scout's theme (faster than a speeding bullet) and maybe the Sniper's theme as well. Great video!
Perfect timing! I've been listening to the calm and imagining all sorts of western scenarios :D
Love that your back
Love or hate tf2 you gotta admit the people who made the tf2 soundtrack were definitely professionals and they made some hella good music
So insightful, certainly my favorite episode!
really cool how you do a fiddle rendition afterwards
Context for "The Calm" and "ROBOTS!":
Mann Co., the corporation the mercenaries work for, is under attack by a man with an army of money-fueled robots. Setting aside their feud, the mercenaries from both sides band together to stand against the mechanized army, and protect what they work for.
Context for "Dreams of Cruelty":
All of the Mercenaries are afraid of pyro. As spy puts it, "one shudders to imagine what inhuman thoughts lie behind that mask... what dreams of chronic and sustained cruelty?". As it turns out, Pyro is a delusional schizophrenic, and the music portrays the actions of Pyro, from the view of those on the wrong end of his flamethrower.
Context for "The Art of War":
Soldier, despite his name, never was a soldier. In fact, he was rejected from every single branch of the military. This, however, didn't stop him from buying tickets to Germany, and going on a rampage killing Germans in the name of America in WWII. Turns out, WWII had ended, and he was just a crazy, lead-poisoned loon killing Germans. His crazy militaristic character bleeds into this track as it's one showing off his behavior on the battlefield, rocket launcher in hand. Each pause gives way to a cutaway of him lecturing a bunch of troops, which turn out to actually be severed heads!
The reason why the baby laughing was heard in Dreams Of Cruelty is because of copyright issues, the character this is based off of has a gas mask that transforms their vision into cute and cuddly not realizing whats happening in reality. (meaning the song was switching back and forth from intense too calm or rainbows and sunshine, but unable too in the ost for copyright)
There's one song i really love, which is Rise of the Living Bread, hope to see you react to it one day, i really love the fact you analyzes some aspects of the soundtracks, and i am really curious to know what is your opinion about it.
TF2's soundtrack often goes overlooked behind all the memes, and the pieces become so ubiquitous, we forget that they're legitimately great pieces of music.
I don’t play this game and have never heard of it, but yeah, SPG is an amazing producer and listening to him talk about music is just mesmerizing.
I loved how you described a batucada, being part of one was such a good experience
6:10 I can hear the spy say "One shudders to imagine what inhuman thoughts lie behind that mask... what dreams of chronic and sustained cruelty?"
I love these videos ... thanks to you I'm enyoing this music much better
I was just watching your other 2 TF2 reactions, what a coincidence. Was hoping you'd react to more
You should check out the music for the game "Rebel Cops", specifically the 3 songs, "Rebel Cops", "Listen up" and "At ease". Not a well known game but damn those tracks are pretty good
Love this man's violin guitar solo he did for calm
So art of war, i always pictured as drums of war sounding to arms, with drum line battalions answering the call and reporting in, with line infantryman drummers sounding to order and formation, to amass and prepare for the battle ahead with horns blaring to sound the advance, the march of thousands to war.
I'll once again recommend the soundtrack from Gunpoint (released June 3, 2013)
Some specific track recommendations (in the unlikely event that a reaction video is made):
Main Theme (Melancholia)
'Round Gunpoint
The Five-Floor Goodbye
The Five-Floor Goodbye (Crosslink)
Stealth Crawls and Dance Halls
Electric Fedora
At this point I wouldn't mind if you reacted to the whole soundtrack I'd watch your reaction for all ❤. I love your insight on my favourite video game soundtracks

The goosebumps when the tune in The Calm links up with Robots!
Wow, I was very pleasantly surprised when you stopped reacting and analysed the actual stuff.
i love to see plaing with danger and faster than a speeding bullet
My personal recommendation for video game music would be a little heart to heart from Team Fortress 2. Really great video and breakdown, cheers!
I don’t know why I expected ‘Dreams of Cruelty’ to play the song that played during ‘Meet the Pyro’ when it showed what Pyro sees
