KGTropicals My new Tank of only two months is thriving thanks to you and Lisa!! You two are a benefit already, don’t know where I would be without my new favorite TH-camrs. #startafishkeeperfishkeeping
The videos u guy's make are informative and amazing love to watch them 👍 Can you guy's make a video on best community fish combo's. Bcoz there's alot of confusion regarding this on the internet for example some say angel fish + neon tetra is a bad combo some say guppy + angel fish is bad, some say both these combos are fine n will work..... So can u guys help regarding this ?
I love bristlenose plecos. I had one in my guppy tank, the fry survival rate quadrupled when I added him because the fry would hang out in his cave and the other fish wouldn’t go in there. He was like their cool uncle lol.
my pleco is my favorite! everyone says theyre shy, require driftwood, and not social. Well its true hes not social, ignores every other fish as if hes king of the tank. Rarely touches the driftwood. Ignores the soft black sand completely, lays on gravel. My biggest mistake early was not feeding him. I fed other fish extra and felt he would be fine with scrapps. They need their own waffers abd other assortment of food. Have fun!
The hardest ones must be flower horns or arowanas because sometimes you have to sacrifice a life to get the arowanas eggs out of his mouth and you need a cage to breed flower horns because they will fight each other until death
My betta is in tank with a cory, loach, cherry shrimp, platty, and an african dwarf frog and i have not had any. Problems at all they have plenty of room and hiding spots
I remembered that I had an angelfish inside a 15 gal tank and he would always come up to the surface to see me and was so cheerful and chill. I miss him :'(
Perfect timing. I'm about to redo my 165-gallon tank and I wanted to do a community tank with mostly small fish in groups. All of those were being considered except angel fish, and now those are back on the list again.
Rummynose tetras are also very beautiful, fast swimmers that do well in a community tank. I love watching them swim in a school and the fact that they mind their own business!
khuli loaches are a great community tank fish , they are often overlooked in favor of Cory cats as a bottom feeder but are fun to watch and near bullet proof as long as they're healthy when you buy them .
@@matthewchicoine6010 They can but you should stay away from gravel with sharp edges. They prefer sand but can do well as long as the substrate isn't sharp where it will cut their mouths.

I love love love all the information you're sharing especially the little details on how and what the fish does around the tank. I also enjoyed the video on the fish that's not good for community. I will definitely be around here for all your amazing tips,he's getting me my own fish tank🥰
My Danios have learned to surf on the wave caused by my internal filter - you're right, they are always on the go - I find them so much fun! Lol I've only been fish keeping since just before Chritmas, but the Danios are the ones in my tank who got me hooked! :)
@Naught Guile I put a rather shaky 1st attempt of a vid on my own site, but I'll try my best to do a better one next time the Danios do their dance again 🙂
You totally transfered your love for rummy nose to me. They're so beautiful. Some say a school of 6 would be fine in a 10 gallon, others say 20 though and I don't think I can fit a 20g in my room.
love your shows, I'm getting back into fish keeping after many years of being out of it, I 7 year old twin grand daughters that I bought them a 3.5 gallon tank with a couple of glow tetras, and I added a couple zebra danios, but this little tank is harder to care for than a big tank, so we are going to step up to a 20 gallon. any way I agree with your top ten except the molly, platy, I prefer the sword tails had them before and even bred a few, but I would like to add the blue or pearl gourami, awesome community fish!
I agree with your list, however there is one thing that should be mentioned: 55 Gallons are still too small for Angelfish, the tank should have a height of at least 60cm(~24 inches). 300l/~80 Gallons (100cmx60cmx50cm) are the lower limit, otherwise you'll experience puny growth sooner or later. Regards & Keep up the good work Sebastian
Agree with 9 out of 10 choices. Angel fish (in my experience) can be aggressive territorial little sods that disrupt the harmony of a chilled community gathering. Probably the cichlid side coming out . The other 9 choices , spot on . Add 1 sub from England
I have to agree with you. I just removed my beloved angel from our tank because it became a little nippy towards the swordtails and my wife's beta. Between the swordtails, the beta, the tiger tetras, the neon tetras, the danios and the plecos in the tank its mostly foolproof harmony all around. The angel caused most of the strain in the tank.
Bought two danios yesterday (my first two fish!) and accidentally dropped one on the floor while transferring into the aquarium!! I freaked out, but about half an hour later he was acting as chipper and energetic as the other little guy. TLDR: yes, they basically are bulletproof.
corys will often lay at the bottom of the tank in odd positions (like on their sides) and look dead - I realized this is common and you don't have to panic lol
Don't forget endlers! Cobras are especially beautiful! They are pretty hardly too. Not a big bio load, etc. Mine love to get in the outlet from the filter, I guess it's like a roller coaster for them...wheee!
I have 7 danios and they are so full of energy! They actually look like they are playing by zooming around the tank, going trough plant leaves and running to the glass to greet me when they see me.
I have angelfish for some 30 years now as community fish. Sure they can be agressive when breeding, but if your tank is 1 meter or more, they jus occupy a small spot in the aquarium for the other fish to keep out. Also you can facilitate a breeding spot, for example in the corner of the aquarium.
I love my sword tails. I now have a small tank that my 1 female went into to have her babies and then back into the big tank. The fry are so much fun to watch grow.
My two year old angelfish is my baby. He has never hurt another fish, though he will chase one of our female bettas once in a while (they don't hurt each other, but they have an odd relationship. Tiger (the angel) never chases our other two female bettas in there, just her). Once in a while, Tiger has a fin torn or nipped and the most amazing thing about him is that he can heal it in two days flat, and you can't tell he was ever hurt. Tiger also acts visibly excited when he sees people - he has a food response, sure, but he has a unique way of saying "oh hey, you're home, I missed you!" Angelfish are, without question, my favorite fish species to keep.
I have 4 male angelfish and they nip and chace each other every day. I also had guppies as my frist fish. We started with 3 females and 2 males. We had 5 generations of guppies just from those guppies. Love your channel!
good upload except a few other experiences i have. 1) Keeping 5 or 6 angels is still a risk in a community tank, especially when a few angels grow out to be dominant males. I breed angels, and only promote to keep minimum 10 in a group to minimize risks. By consequence this is not a typical community fish for medium sized tanks. 2) Most and almost every barb can cause problems with fin nipping. I stopped breeding barbs only for that reason. I wanted to minimize possible problems for people getting barbs from me for their community tank. The only barb that is 100 % community tank save, is the little puntius tetrazone (not to be confused with the pentazona, or sumatra barb)... 3) tetra's are indeed a good choice but the rummynose tetra is in my opinion not hardy enough and lacks resistance in most community setups. They only do well for longer time in very clean and soft water with lower pH, and is therefore in my opinion not a (beginner) community fish to keep.
I had 2 angel fish in a 125 gl tank with a some other fish. One back and one silver. We get a 15-19 y/o goldfish from a friend who couldn’t keep it anymore and the silver angel fish decided that it didn’t like that goldfish. Constantly beating on it. At that point the gold fish couldn’t swim very well and normally hung down at the bottom side of the tank where a gourami had made it’s territory. That Black angel fish- bless him would protect that gold fish. Eventually we had to take the solve angel out- it didn’t get back in until after the goldfish had died. Never had a problem with another fish again. It was really weird
There is always a tiger barb that wants to be a fin nipping bully. They remind me of clown fish in my salt water tanks. My favorite fish of all time is the ruby scat.
I loved my Danios but decided to take them out because their spastic movement was stressing my other community fish out, particularly my Cardinal Tetras. They would hide a lot and their color was never as full and bright as others I have seen. I rehomed my Danios to a friend with a bigger tank 29 gallon vs 20 gallon, and then within a few days, my Cardinals were out swimming mid tank and colors were popping.
Serpae tetras are beautiful, but I’ve found them to be one of the most likely to shred everything else in the tank with long fins. Buyer beware on those.
Oh I forgot what is this ChannelMembership, I see everyone talking about it I did a subscribe is that the same. I have had a Facebook since around 01 or 02 and just started using youtube in the last 3 months. once again a BIG THANK YOU for all you two do Art.
Danios are busy fish for sure but the yo-yo loach can definitely give them a run for their money. They are great in larger aquariums (mine are in a four foot tank) and they are great to watch. That really seem to enjoy swim up to the other fish and bumping them but they don’t seem to mind.
Hi I think it's a wonderful idea to make a video on easiest to breed fish. I love your videos, you know so much and you so good, telling us what do you know. keep up the good work 😊
I have an Albino Pleco male about 3 years old that is well over 6 inches. He has bristles on top of bristles on top of more bristles. He is so peaceful and loves his driftwood and an algae wafer treat once a week. He can be lazy but still does his job to help keep my 75 gallon clean. I have 2 other about the same age that stay around 3 inches.
You guys should do a best self sustaining/minimal work ecosystem fish/water animal combos. Like bottom feeder/snails and real plant combos that make you only have to feed or occasionally change the water.
I agree! Unfortunately, I got 2 Gouramis for a christmas present - as part of a community fish haul - both male - and I called them Laurel & Hardy, as Hardy is always picking on poor Laurel! I'm getting a larger tank at the end of the month, so I'll be seperating them then.
@@bryanplaza3031 Fortunately, Hardy only ever picks on Laurel - and not all the time - but they both basically ignore the other fish in the tank - which I'm very grateful for! :)
I have one in my tank also along with 3 guppies, a dwarf frog, and two ghost catfish. He’s pretty chill and really smart. He doesn’t bully the other fish.
good evening sir / madam , spent a few day ENJOYING your content / vids . greetings from the UK and please keep the informative and interesting content coming .
In childhood, my group of pals started keeping fish. I wanted to follow. The bigger boys told me to get some other fish from what they have, nobody wants to see the same fish at every house they go to. So sadly, I looked for something different from the ones I saw they had and had admired so much. I found ZEBRA DANIOS !!......fast forward to adulthood and here I am, the only one of my friends who is still addicted to fish....and my tank must NEVER be without mu Zebras !.....so it seems that you were right about keeping Danios.
Angelfish being community fish and can be kept with anything well that’s debatable. I’ve had a pair of Angels that pecked my Pearl Gourami to death. And had a Angel eat one my Neons. I also had an Angelfish that kept harassing my Swordtail it keep biting it tail.
Fun fact about my aquarium.. when I went to get my fish I didn't do much research, just knew I wanted a pleko and the lady sold me a common pleko. Welp looks like I'm keeping him till about 4 inches and then he's gotta get rehomed but he is pretty cute and active
You forgot to mention that with danios there is the opportunity to talk to your kids about the birds and the bees. It's easy to please the danios and they let you know it by prolifically breeding.
I have 10 giant danios in my 125 with 3 types of botia, dojo loaches, a synodontis, and an erb+green terror hybrid. They swim around the middle and the top and make the other fish feel safe. Giant danios are amazing dither fish
As per my experience, if you want to keep tiger barbs without them resorting to being fin-nippers, just keep them in large groups. I used to keep ten or more of them in a tank with angelfish and the barbs never bothered them.
I love my danios. One of my local stores currently has a 5 for $5 special on certian fish, and danios are one of them. (Which is pretty crazy) You can bet I got a heap for my community tanks.
I bought those fish, 5 longfin leopards, 5 zebra, 2 weeks ago. Put them in the long established tank that I'm using for quarantine. Only 3 survived. Will never do that again. I'm going to wait a couple more weeks and if any are left might add them to my newer 44 gal.☹️
Corydoras are my top pick for cutest freshwater fish, hands down. I'm just waiting to redo my 10gal and I'm getting my hands on some pygmaeus, for sure.
@@cjaymarriott and I mean to say that because I keep neocaridinas, I won't keep barbs. I'm afraid I don't know how they interact with catfish, because they eat shrimp.
I have some ideas for videos: - Top ten most delicious aquarium fish - Most MARXIST fish - Top five causes of psychic powers in goldfish - Help! I'm a Fish (2000) enacted live with real fish - How to change a Mazda 323 wheel bearing with a platy - Top four hundred tankmates for a gerbil Thank you I'll wait for them.
I love danios the males look amazing and will race around your tank swimming in and out of your decorations/plants chasing each other like street car racers...
Agreed! Getting a few danios and neons for my daughters tank. Love the shape and color of danios and reminds me somehow of a trout. Also its a hardy fish so great for any beginners too.
The danio thing is true! When I started fish keeping my mom bought me a 10 gallon tank, and I decided to get 3 male guppies and 6 danios ik it was over stocked but I was a begginer. After some months i fell in love with the hobby and i've been it for 2 years now!
I got a Golden Zebra Danio as a free fish from a mail order fish store. One. I had to buy more, since they're social fish. Neat marketing ploy, because I fell in love with these little spazes.
The Skunk Botia Is a bigger spaz and is only second to the Yoyo Loach for being a total spaz all the time. I consider Danios to be very active and move around a lot. the Thing about the two fish I mentioned is they will be rummaging on the floor then just take off and fly around the tank for no reason at all. Try adding a new fish and that poor new fish has an instant BFF. 😂
I also gave up on Swordtails too.. with 1 main reason: They POOP a lot. (they almost rival Goldfish haha) They are no strangers to eating algae too.. and because of that they poop a lot (and sometimes with long poop). Beautiful fish.. but since I gave up on the messy Goldfish.. I gave up on Swordtails too. (but the alternative is the Platies.. in comparison with Swordtails they poop less.. cuz they are also smaller).

Do a video of "Easiest fish to breed" and "Hardest fish to breed"
I think the hardest fish will be the ones that people haven't figured out how to breed or how to keep their babies alive like (freshwater) pipefish.
The hardest ones must be flower horns or arowanas because sometimes you have to sacrifice a life to get the arowanas eggs out of his mouth and you need a cage to breed flower horns because they will fight each other until death
The Platy would win the easiest to breed prize. It's harder to stop them from breeding than to make them breed.
Juan Gutierrez snails would be the easier To breed
He asked about fish, snails aren't fish.

One of my mail guppies is definitely more active than my zebra danios. He won’t stop chasing his reflection in the glass
Danios are busy fish for sure but the yo-yo loach can definitely give them a run for their money. They are great in larger aquariums (mine are in a four foot tank) and they are great to watch. That really seem to enjoy swim up to the other fish and bumping them but they don’t seem to mind.
My yoyo loach is such a spaz my danios get annoyed lol
Hi I think it's a wonderful idea to make a video on easiest to breed fish.
I love your videos, you know so much and you so good, telling us what do you know.
keep up the good work 😊
10 THINGS EASIEST FISH TO BREED YESSSSS!! Lol
I’ve been loving my community tank. I’ve got female swordtails, guppies, neon tetras and danios
You guys should do a best self sustaining/minimal work ecosystem fish/water animal combos. Like bottom feeder/snails and real plant combos that make you only have to feed or occasionally change the water.
Dwarf gouramis are great fish and are peaceful when there’s only one in the tank
I agree! Unfortunately, I got 2 Gouramis for a christmas present - as part of a community fish haul - both male - and I called them Laurel & Hardy, as Hardy is always picking on poor Laurel!
I'm getting a larger tank at the end of the month, so I'll be seperating them then.
But some gouramis are bully's to other tank mates
@@bryanplaza3031 Fortunately, Hardy only ever picks on Laurel - and not all the time - but they both basically ignore the other fish in the tank - which I'm very grateful for! :)
I have one in my tank also along with 3 guppies, a dwarf frog, and two ghost catfish. He’s pretty chill and really smart. He doesn’t bully the other fish.
"Danios are spazzes!" Best decription ever!
good evening sir / madam , spent a few day ENJOYING your content / vids . greetings from the UK and please keep the informative and interesting content coming .
Good episode. How about a top 10 fish (fish type & how many) to fill up a 75 gallon tank? 🙂
I've always believed angels are responsible for my missing tetras and guppies with the fancy tails seem to be targeted by other fish
Tetras are awesome!! I've got Serpae tetras in with my goldfish... A bunch of em.... They love to school
I had an APOLLO SHARK once...that THING never stopped Moving!
In reference to John asking if there were other Super Active Fish besides Danios!
I have a 20 gallon tank. With three tiger barbs 3 goldfish 5 danios and two small goldfish and 2 mini catfish , they all seem to get along great.
Please make a top 10 easiest fish to breed I would love that
Guppy, livebearers, bronze cory, kribensis, zebra danio, goldfish,
Stop Playing ok thank you
One of my guppies is actually pregnant
Definitely an easy breeder video!
Lisa: don’t neglect the lady’s
Me: the lady’s neglect me
🤣😂
Hell yaa!! 10 things is back
Was waiting for this series......
Gotta love some spazz fishes! Great video guys you are killing it with this series! 👍
I have 10 giant danios in my 125 with 3 types of botia, dojo loaches, a synodontis, and an erb+green terror hybrid. They swim around the middle and the top and make the other fish feel safe. Giant danios are amazing dither fish
Erb lol. I dont have epic rap battles of history. Its an eba*** electric blue acara
I'd love to see a ten things episode about the easiest fish to breed. Please put convict cichlids on it! 😁😁😁
As per my experience, if you want to keep tiger barbs without them resorting to being fin-nippers, just keep them in large groups. I used to keep ten or more of them in a tank with angelfish and the barbs never bothered them.
I've kept them at times, and never had trouble with that reputed fin-nipping, but receiving a warning on purchase is practically universal.
Great vid....would love to see 10 easiest fishes to breed.
Awesome video as always love you guys. thank you for the insight
Hey! Just watched this video and Found your channel! I subscribed and liked the video! Please keep it up! ❤️❤️❤️
Y’all’s videos are so helpful to me
I love my danios.
One of my local stores currently has a 5 for $5 special on certian fish, and danios are one of them. (Which is pretty crazy)
You can bet I got a heap for my community tanks.
@@joybuckeye7493 dang sorry 4 ur loss bro
Corydoras are my top pick for cutest freshwater fish, hands down.
I'm just waiting to redo my 10gal and I'm getting my hands on some pygmaeus, for sure.
do they go well with tiger barbs?
@@cjaymarriott can't say, as all species of barb are incompatible with neocaridina shrimps
@@armouredjester1622 i mean the corydoras if they go well with barbs, not a shrimps😊
@@cjaymarriott and I mean to say that because I keep neocaridinas, I won't keep barbs. I'm afraid I don't know how they interact with catfish, because they eat shrimp.
Good afternoon....great video....happy Sunday....
Your video was so helpful thanks ❤
My personal best tiger fish .. looks amazing in tank
Can you do video on 10 fish that can live inside one tank please.
great list guys i love the top 10 stuff!
I have some ideas for videos:
- Top ten most delicious aquarium fish
- Most MARXIST fish
- Top five causes of psychic powers in goldfish
- Help! I'm a Fish (2000) enacted live with real fish
- How to change a Mazda 323 wheel bearing with a platy
- Top four hundred tankmates for a gerbil
Thank you I'll wait for them.
My favorites are platies- especially the blue ones.
(they almost rival Goldfish haha)
They are no strangers to eating algae too.. and because of that they poop a lot (and sometimes with long poop). Beautiful fish.. but since I gave up on the messy Goldfish.. I gave up on Swordtails too. (but the alternative is the Platies.. in comparison with Swordtails they poop less.. cuz they are also smaller).
