Lyrics:
Baby I've got you on my mind, honey you won't ever know
How much I need you by my side, promise you won't ever go
I won't take no from you this time
Baby I've got you on my mind
'Cause honey I've got to show (I won't wait for another day)
Just what I can do (My heart died when you loosed the chains)
Because I think I know (I won't wait for another day)
What you're going through (My heart died when you loosed the chains)
I hope you feel it the way I feel it, I hope you feel it the way I feel it too
So if I had this all my way, honey you won't ever know
I'd be there through every night and day, promise you won't ever go
Baby I've got you on my mind
Baby I've Got You On My Mind video from Powderfinger
When Aussies rock they rock the best. This band is a great example.
Mate this is one of the best albums to come out of Australia, this whole album is so fucking 🔥🔥 from start to finish and if you remember the album came with a DVD as well, I listened to this on repeat back in the day and still today 🤟🏻🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
i'm like hella proud of them. you feel the vibe here, right? lol
Aussie Rock and roll was at it’s best in the 70’s-80’s. INXS, AC/DC, skyhooks, Divinyls, Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs, Church, The Saints, Sunny Boys, the Angels, Hunters & Collectors… to name a few. Pub bands were big. 90’s-200’s another resurgence with Silverchair, Powderfinger, baby Animals…etc… too many to list but we had a fantastic music scene .
@@sassysweetx8096 Love Divinyls. I saw Thorpie just before he died. One of the more recent Aussie bands I'm into is Psychedelic Porn Crumpets from Perth.
@@sassysweetx8096 Midnight oil and Hoodu Gurus too
God Bless the Finger!
This is one of the great Australian rock songs, whenever I hear this song I can't help but get pumped up for the rest of the day.
do you still get pumped 6 years later?
With ya
I discovered Powderfinger when this song/music video came out and was played on Canadian music channel. Few days after discovering them I found out they were touring and had a one stop in a city 2 hour drive from me. I dropped everything and went..They were amazing on stage and since then I bought every album they made and was lucky enough to see Bernard Fanning on his solo tour when he was visiting my city. Powderfinger was indeed one of the best bands that ever existed.
Great Aussie Band shame they've called it quits!
True. Still, at least they got the break.
did rona bring them back!?
Soccer is the biggest and most important sport on Earth and is massive in over 240 countries. Every nation on Earth loves soccer. Rugby league is big in only 4 countries. Its a minority sport in England, France, Lebanon etc. Soccer will be the most popular sport in Australia by 2050 fstvnv

One of my fave Powderfinger songs. Rock at its finest. I'm going to try to get up for the 5AM TH-cam show on May 23rd...try to.
The performance of this song on One Night Lonely was incredible, even better than the studio cut imo
It was 👍
100% completely random but i came to this song on a whim and it's May 23rd.
Amazing, great camera work, too. These guys prove you don't have to be heavy to rock. The drumming makes this track for me + the solo after the 1st chorus. You can hear they're not joking when they say in the book that they rehearsed for 4-6 hours a day when they weren't on tour for almost 20 years. There's some serious skill there but they make it sound easy.
This band is so underated
Hmm. 18 ARIA awards, 23 tracks in JJJ hottest 100 indicates a lot of people rate them
Agree, world class rock n roll, if Nickleback, Train and Coldplay can crack America then Powderfinger should have.
So many Aussie bands are. They are not commercial enough to be played on radio
It's the old 3min 40 rule. Too long for radio
I’ll be honest. They are fantastic band. Albums are world class I think. They were boring every time I saw them live. I don’t know what it was.
They were and always will be fucking massive in Australia. A lot of great Aussie music never kicks off overseas.
Where would any modern pub rock cover band be without this song.
Vulture St. Brisbane....they've never forgotten where they came from...awesome stuff
This band should have been bigger in the States no doubt. Great straightforward rock song. Good vocals.
SonicVision Australian rock is, imho, among the best.
No kidding! American here, I just found out about them and they're great! Sadly I think the States have moved away from rock as a mainstream genre, even though there's still so much good rock being made (Australia & otherwise)...
I heard them the same time Coldplay came out. My Happiness was played on Alternate radio but nothing else hit the states. We do get a ton of Coldplay the last 2 decades...rather have Powderfinger.
the ones that make it. from what i can tell..most club bands really suck ..in perth any way
They refused to sell their souls to the big chief....
Those chords must have been used 1000 times but not like that, one of the great Aussie rock n roll bands, World Class.
Such a good fucking song. Very powerful music.
This is why I love Australia! from Brazil
i appreciate it - From Australia
The best thing left in australia lostralia😢 art music culture
Australian's love being loved
Shades of David Bowie's 'Suffragette City' with the opening guitar riff! Love it! Very energetic & passionate!😉
Where would any modern pub rock cover band be without this song.

I remember skipping work to see Powderfinger play a free outdoor concert outside the TD tower downtown Vancouver in 2006. It was a fantastic show! While there, I bumped into 2 coworkers who were doing the exact same thing as me!
Very Cool !!
But U r not me I ham the 💯🌏 urrrr not me homeeeeeerrr b C u
It's important to give your boss the finger as frequently as possible
Classic! Heard them rehearsing in East Brisbane!
Where would any modern pub rock cover band be without this song.
Fuck I miss these guys
Great stuff. Love the use of the delay in the song from 2:20 to 2:25....the listener knows there more to come so there's an energy build up...then bam.
Quality stuff.
God was in the room when that riff was created. I want to reincarnated into that riff..
Definitely one of the best bands to come out of Straylya!!!

We used to cover this in my old band, back in Broken Hill and the crowd went nuts. Well said, potter j................well said!
The drummer from powderfinger went to my primary school.... Long before I did, but my maths teacher used to point out the seat he sat in :)
John Coghill, he’s amazing. that’s awesome and now he works at the ABC radio sunshine coast. he’s an awesome dude.

The Drummer in the band has started doing Stand up Comedy and he is absolutely Hilarious .. A group of us recently were fortunate to watch him tell us some of the funniest jokes and stories among others he will share in his stand up. Get ready Australia...
Yeah, man,
I feel it too!
another vulture street classic
I used to live around the corner from where this video was shot. Watched heaps of bands in that area but didn't really know Powderfinger. They practiced there but didn't ever see them in the pubs. There was a big scene with heavier grungy bands at that time, but not Powderfinger. I saw Nirvana open (about 40 minutes) for Violent Femmes at Brisbane Festival Hall in early 1992.
i saw them at fishermans wharf, same tour i think, also i'm sure i used to walk past the guys and a bunch of other people playing guitars outside a beat up old white terrace house in vulture street, on my way to a house near the morrison hotel near stones corner every week, for about 3 months these guys would see me walking past and eventualy i would stop and talk then we would have a few beers and talk music shit. 90's were an amazing time.
All music videos should be this good.
Welcome to Australian Rock sirs :P
indeed, thank you
What a phenomenal drummer!
Check out, in no order
Spy vs Spy,
The Cruel Sea, (similar to The Meters),
early INXS,
early Midnight Oil, (or all of it, but i really like the first 5 or 7 albums, EP's),
And to really drive home how a band should perform, buy the DVD set Midnight Oil - Best Of Both Worlds
early Cold Chisel, (or all of it), there is a good DVD as well...
The Church,
The Sunnyboys, especially The Hoodoo Gurus, (all of it),
Radio Birdman,
the albums by Midnight Oil drummer Rob Hirst, under the Ghost Writers moniker,
Paul Kelly, just all of it....
Hunters and Collecters, (especially the record, The Way to Go Out),
Rose Tattoo, for rock n' roll,
ben Lee,
and for strange stuff, check out The Necks, (start with Sex, then search amazon for reviews),
it is jazz based, so beware...
rateyourmusic.com/list/Iai/ryms_top_100_australian_albums__according_to_australians_/
The Angels, just listen to all of the albums
Early AC/DC, yes they are kind of Australian, too tedious to get into the facts here.....
Powder Finger
Jet
The Divinyls
The Saints
George
Missy Higgins
Chain, very blues based from about early 1960 to 1980
A bit personal now, but I like
Icehouse
Crowded House
Richard Clapton
mental as anything
The Tooth Faeries, hard to find...
Australian Crawl from the late 70's to 80's
John Butler Trio
Chris Wilson, especially live at the Continental, this album is on a par with Chris Whitely, Living with the law.
The Vines
even more bands, but it is getting late...
Michael thank you for all those memories of all those great Australian bands. I saw many of them in concert and in rock n’roll venues. There were great NZ bands as well, Dragon, Mi Sex, Split Enz, etc.
One of the best bands in the world ✌

That's so cool.
Others may think... whatever... cool.
It's a street in Brisbane.
I took John (bassist) and his wife fishing here on Vancouver island and his wife caught the largest Chinook salmon ever to come aboard my boat...52 pounds! Her first fish too.
