First time i heard this I was driving down Bridson Street, Bassendean, WA to my girlfriends house in 1996, listening to TripleJ. Right from the first chords I was like 'Woo, what is this'. I had to stop the car and just listened to it, just blew me away. Such a vivid memory.
Same for me mate. I remember thinking in the mid to late 90's music is shit after Grunge/Glam Metal died i was wrong. Australian bands led the way too.
What makes songs like this immortal is that while the arrangement might be simple, it’s sung with such heart and soul that it lives forever. The same could be said about grunge music
Powder finger will go down in history as Australias biggest icon there should be a statue or a landmark named after this famous band. Wish you guys were still around do sad never got to go to one of there concert's one of the best songs ever
pick you up, daf, bless my soul, sunsets..goes without saying these guys wrote some great songs. Thanks for posting this. Brissy girl remembering the early 90’s ? I miss those Brisbane days . 👍

When you are set To throw in your hand When you are far from home When what you believe Is buried in your hands When you feel outgrown I'll be the one to pick you up again When you decide you've had enough of it I'll be the one 🖤
When you feel betrayed when your heart is frayed when your feet are cold when your sight are low... double allergic has this darkness that no other album of theirs had maybe because it wasn’t overproduced! Fucken brilliant
pick you up, daf, bless my soul, sunsets..goes without saying these guys wrote some great songs. Top Aussie group, one of the best..., and they still are to me "these days" ;-)
I first discovered powderfinger when seeing one of their music videos on rage (i think???) when i was 4 or 5. now i am 17. still a huge fan! easy my favorite aussie band :)
Hello future person, yes we are still listening to this song in *[insert date here]* . Thank you, you have great taste in music too, legend. Have a lovely day!

I don't mind pearl jam, but PF weren't that similar. PF were a much better band IMHO. Had more depth and contrast to their music. Need some of the bands of this era to start pulling their weight and producing some good music, its getting depressing listening to most of the rubbish that's coming out.
Ozzy Man! pick you up, daf, bless my soul, sunsets..goes without saying these guys wrote some great songs. pick you up, daf, bless my soul, sunsets..goes without saying these guys wrote some great songs.
While they were on stage at a festival once, Simon from Ammonia and I knocked off Powderfinger's rider (we were topping up L7's esky, so it was a good deed) all except for two beers. Question is: there are five 'fingers, which two get the remaining beers?
LOL, that's not the only one, I didn't even mention snogging the bass player from L7. Why were we pillaging Powderfinger? Well, as I said, we were hanging with L7, and those ladies can drink! We'd already polished off Ammonia's substantial rider and we were busily emptying the last cans of bourbon from L7's even more substantial rider. None of us were going to pay for any piss that's for sure, Powderfinger were on stage and not in any position to defend their drinks, so... Who does get the last two cans left in Powderfinger's esky?
Powderfinger were the best 90s Aussie band, period.
1 of the all time best aussie bands brother
I agree man 🎸🍺
Man, that whole decade was amazing! Regurgitator, spiderbait, custard, silverchair, the fauves. We won’t see anything like that in our lifetime again.
@@andthefatman thanks Jeff Kennett for killing the music scene and replacing it with pokie machines
@@andthefatman awesome saw them all live! Swoop too. They where cool until mushroom records ruined them

I wonder why. Maybe because this song isn't mainstream enough?
