I’m 22 now, so i was 6 when Warren Zevon passed away and i had no idea who he was, but he’s easily one of the greatest songwriters of our time. It’s a shame how underrated he seems to be nowadays
Don’t feel bad, I’m 56 and I just discovered his more than werewolf’s of London discography, Warren has a IQ of 171, listen to his lyrics, a lot of hidden historical and futuristic predictions;-).
My best friend in the last year of his life as he was dying of esophageal cancer discovered Warren mainly through his remarkable interviews with Letterman. His songs speak to so many people but his conversations with Letterman showed my friend Jim how to face down cancer in the hardest days of his life.
Zevon is a great companion in the dark night of the soul. A lot of personal grief for me in the past 5 years, but Warren's taught me a lot and I feel like I'm starting to live again.
I'm planning my memorial now and this is the first song I thought of for my playlist. Just not sure where the placement will be. I know some people will want and/or need a tearjerker or two. I want upbeat, fun, and ironic but mostly I want my music. I agree with you, Warren taught me how to face death. I know I'll have bad days but I want to have a sense of humor about it. I'll say hi to Jim for you.
This guy really packed it in during his short stay on earth. Such an honest song and such a cool dude. We miss you Warren. Thank you for the music and all of the memories...
I miss this bad, brilliant, blessed man like I miss my own soul. He looked like this the day I met him: long golden ponytail...incredibly handsome face....and I fell madly, incurably in love. My matchless husband understands. Live Forever, Golden Renegade...Out There In That Great SOMEWHERE....
I didn't know this video existed. I fucking love Warren Zevon, and this is one of his best. Had the Mr Bad Example LP, didn't know he'd made a video. His lack of appreciation is criminal.
warren jones GREAT first name. Of course you were moved emotionally by this beautiful song. You have a soul. For myself, I confess to an absolute addiction.Everyone has an addiction. Mine just happens to be Warren Zevon. For me, he is both God of Music and Irreplaceable Legend. Matchless talent, genius...Spirit. He lives Forever, you see...for Gods and Legends NEVER die, and Warren Zevon IS BOTH!! He lives Forever on the Edge of Dreams.....
After you’ve lived through your 40s & had certain life experiences, you realize those let-downs in your past were about a lot more than you knew, so you have to come to terms with the fact that falling in love leads to some dangerous and litigious business because there are mostly nothing but heartless strangers out there.
breathtaking, warren. Very beautiful tune and its a wonderful album. This song really stands out 2 me tho, so touching and yet sad :( Beautiful yet again sir
warren jones Great first name ya got goin for you there!! WZ is still the greatest talent out there...no question. And yes, I'm aware that, tragically, he's no longer HERE. Trust me...he's simply exchanged Realities, and where he is now is the better for his presence there. See...Legends never die...and Warren was, is, and shall ALWAYS be the greatest Legend of them all. Rock the Pillars of Heaven, Mr. Bad Example! And save me a seat, front row , center!
Vote Warren for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Another extraordinary Warren Zevon song!
History did Warren dirty.

he'll never be forgotten, we will make sure of that

He was ahead of the curve. The music lives on a-ooh!
It’s a shame how underrated he was when alive. Much great music is to be found besides the path walked by many!
Had the great fortune to see him live in a small club in 87. Best concert ever!
Can't start it like a car you can't stop it with a gun. So fuckin true.

I miss you and your music, Warren Zevon. Remembering you today on what would have been your 75th birthday.
From a great album. Good to see the late Jeff Porcaro in the clip

I know he made a lot of great songs but this has to be one of the best. Love the lyrics.
"I'm staying inconspicuous.....I'm staying out of sight...."
Nobody gets me like Zevon. What a tortured soul. This is why he was the best!!
Saw Warren many many times. He was a true artist who could transport you in concert to the fifth dimension.
JEFF PORCARO!
Boy, what a sweet surprise to see him in this video
My favourite drummer.....such a sweet sound and beautiful groove....the master....

Only 16K views over 2 years after uploading. The world is broken. The music isn't.
"Leaving in the evening, traveling at night, staying inconspicuous, staying out of sight"
Warren .... Jeff ..... RIP.!
This brings back memories. I thank God for Mr.. Warren Zevon
my god is that Jeff Porcaro on drums. i'm losing it now...
Yes it is.
What a song; what a band!!!
Darkness in the morning
Shadows on the land
Certain individuals
Aren't sticking with the plan
And I'm searching for a heart
Searching everyone
They say love conquers all
You can't start it like a car
You can't stop it with a gun
Leaving in the evening
Traveling at night
Staying inconspicuous
I'm staying out of sight
And I'm searching for a heart
Searching everyone
They say love conquers all
You can't start it like a car
You can't stop it with a gun
They tell me love requires a little standing in line
And I've been waiting for you, lover, for a long, long time
I've been pacing the floor
I've been watching the door
Meanwhile I'll keep searching for a heart
Searching high and low for you
Trying to track you down
Certain individuals
Have finally come around
And I'm searching for a heart
Searching everyone
They say love conquers all
You can't start it like a car
You can't stop it with a gun
They tell me love requires a little standing in line
And I've been waiting for you, lover, for a long, long time
I've been pacing the floor I've been watching the door
Meanwhile I'll keep searching for a heart
Searching everyone
They say love conquers all
You can't start it like a car
You can't stop it with a gun
Searching for a heart
Searching for a heart

Traveling at night
Not a day start to a Sunday morning here
Warren must have read the bible because some of the words and sayings are from the Torah with slight changes, he was something.
Why so few views? Thank god.
Amen
❤
So 😎
What are your other favorite Warren Zevon songs?
Certain Individuals aren't sticking to the plan
Is there any way to get ahold of these old VH1 videos? I think that the website doesn’t exist anymore
Anyone know who the players are for this session?
@Joseph Armenta the "incomparable Jeff Porcaro". Damn right, dude!
Bob Glaub on bass, Waddy Wachtel on guitar and Jeff Porcaro on drums. It was Jeff who suggested I shoot the shoot video.
Is Beck his love-child.....?
I'm pretty sure all of those 12k views are mine
