- Demonstrations have been continuing at college campuses across the United States.
In New York, police raided a building at Columbia University, occupied by students protesting in solidarity with Palestinians.
In Los Angeles, a mob attacked a Palestine solidarity sit-in at the University of California.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in West Jerusalem.
Blinken said a deal for a ceasefire in Gaza is achievable, and reiterated US opposition to an Israeli ground offensive in Rafah.
An Israeli strike has killed at least two children in Rafah.
The military has been attacking residential areas across the strip.
More than 34,500 Palestinians have been killed in nearly seven months of war.
Al Jazeera’s senior political analyst, Marwan Bishara, speaks about the need for a wider conversation about the incredible spirit of generation Z as it manifests on US and European university campuses and public squares.

I’m in my 70s and I believe this generation will save us. I visited UPenn encampment and I felt so hopeful talking with these kids. They are smart, kind and on the right side of history. Everybody help in anyway you can. I brought food for them. They are up against the rich donor class that owns politicians, the media and heads of universities. Mayor Adams answers to them too.❤🍉students.

Totally agree, Blinken is a liar (what politician isn’t these days) but a 40 day cease fire is a very good break where the other countries and allies can pile on the pressure to Israel and force a permanent ceasefire. At least that seems to be the plan in the UK.

Some said the 'Age of Enlightenment' follows the 'Age of Technology'. I could never see the association, but now I do. The connection technology has given to young people and places globally in real time has given a window to truths that had previously been hidden. This generation's cynism is driven by that truth. They're navigating life by their standards and moral, ethical values that they feel not necessarily taught. I'm really proud of them. F* the haters. They don't matter.
