Overall, minus the no hair cut, the cold, and those clouds that looked just as cold as they were, in fact, a very beautiful day. The rain, the wind, and those nice enough cows that let you wander pass in peace actually are what made that little journey memorable. Reminding us it's the journey, sometimes, not the destination that makes a trip worthwhile. Stay warm.
I love that you cut your own hair, Scott. I started doing the same in 1993. Then started a hobbie of cutting friends and family. I became a licensed barber in 2012. Great career! Stay dry, friend.live in my Sienna Camper Full Time.
Do you charge for your services? Could be a pretty good side hustle. I cut my own hair as well; it isn't always straight but I'm not trying to impress anyone. It's a one time a year affair.
@@supercooled yes I do. It is my job and how I make a living. That being said, I do a lot of work for those in need as well if I’m on the road. Right now I’m stable in the way up north.
I'd say you have a Lotta friends and a full life.respect the way you talk very nice no bad words just like listening to you an meif I was younger I'd give it a go.but 70 great years just to start out now so I make it a part of life just to listen thaks
You've got to try this recipe if you can tolerate the ingredients: 1 egg, 1 mashed avocado, 1 c. freshly grated parmesan, a bit of salt, everything bagel seasoning on the second side. Mash together and pan fry slow, flip to finish cooking. So good.
Just beautiful backgrounds there,Moo my sister was a hair dresser for 44yrs she just retired I learned a thing or two from here,I cut my own hair to now😃Safe travels🚐
I have lots of dehydrated food in my van including mushrooms beans corn etc which I use for making soup and adding them to noodles I think dehydrated foods are great for van 🚐 life
What a coincidence! I just read an article about a tiny bit of water helping the grinder! They said it helps reduce static which makes grounds stick to the grinder.
Hello Scott, i enjoy your coffee videos walks in the pacific north west and van life narrative. You have been doing the van life for years now. You have become a master of the nomadic lifestyle and motivate others to learn self sufficiency Your not swayed by the pressures to have what sticks and bricks dwellers cling to or the theory that competition with collectors of things is necessary to find happiness. Been following your narrative for years. I always learn something new from you. You live life in the , moment in real time. Your steady and dont get swept away by the issues that come from weather or finding propane, water coffee beans or hot sauce. You stay calm and collected. It transfers to your followers. Im a half and half fan too. Sometimes add flavor with almond cinnamon or vanilla. Do you ever choose hazelnut coffee? Beautiful vistas. Glad your comfortable and gettig fresh air coffee and have tuks.
Dancing between the raindrops is definitely a good Humboldt phrase. Also, I have a good friend who moved from here to Missouri and she said even with the lower winter temps and snow there, she felt the cold here in Humboldt more deeply probably due to the dampness. Beautiful scenery! 😊
I think you're right, Lisa. Humidity makes the difference. It's amazing how much different 50 degrees feels in the summer night vs 50 degrees in the winter day
Tell ME about humidity. It's the same in hot climates. I've been in hot dry areas of Australia and I'm right as rain (pardon the pun). Add humidity to a hot day and I'm just a lazy lounge lizard under the air conditioner. Sydney is one of Australia's most humid cities in the southern part of the continent.
Hi from Stanton Michigan. I think that your hair aways looks good so you do a good job in cutting your hair. You have a great day and thank you for who you are.
We have been getting your left over rain 🌧️☔ here in the UK Scott, it's been non stop for weeks, it's been nice and sunny the last few days, so I'm getting plenty of solar.. my hair is going down my back now 😂lol, I seriously need to cut it asap.. thanks for the nice long video Scott very enjoyable and entertaining. Stay safe and happy buddy 💯🤟🚐🚐🌧️🤟🙏✌️😊📽️
... watching again, and remembering that song by Crosby Stills Nash & Young ... "Almost cut my hair - happened just the other day - gettin' kinda long ... " ... have an ez nite, Scott
Hey Scott, Going to be near I5 the next couple days? I picked up a bag of Metropolitan Light Roast for you if you want. I figure we'll be cruising through either tomorrow afternoon or the next morning. If you're not able to get together, no biggie, we'll have it with Paul with whatever we can get at the bakery for a treat. Take care...
I love that whole coastline...so beautiful. I was up there last year and fell in love with Mendocino. I also cut my own hair but there's not much to cut. I purposely keep it short. I use my van's side mirrors to cut my hair and trim my beard. I drape a shemagh around my neck and quite often have passersby, wanting me to cut their hair. 😂
What a lovely day with the cows & clouds!! I had to laugh when you showed us your frosty fingers cause my fingers are soooo frozen too. Heating this house by candle is gonna take a bunch more candles in these 27 degree nights. I like your hair as is, but easy wash-ability is important, and I don't remember your hair ever looking too short ... all good things in all good time 😺💜

Hi Scott. A little depressed. Someone stole my Nissan and they found it totaled. Watching you makes me feel better. That car got me through a lot. Otherwise, your hair is gorgeous. You almost look like Elvis, lol. Please have a great day!!!

I hope you get a chance to cut your hair. you look fine to me but i definitely understand the need for a trim. we are dealing with heavy rains out east too. thank you for sharing the beauty.
I've cut my own hair for the last 4 yrs using a Flowbee and a small shop vacuum. Better haircut than any barber. All the hair gets sucked up and put in the vac. Sometimes you can buy used.

Im up in Coeur d’Alene, we’re waiting on a possible foot of snow. Only been her 14 months but the handle clearing the roads very quickly. Live that. Snow is really not slowing it down up here. Dropping down below -0 in a few days. 😊⛄️

And I'm also not scared to just buzz it and save in shampoo if I mess itnup beyond fixing. But I only cut my hair once or twice a year so I don't get a lot if practice.
Hi there scott your a real trooper ot looked pretty cold out there to me and your right the view there is amazing it was also cool to see you interacting with the livestock 😅😅😅
I enjoy how you show the realistic side of living in a van. Life has peaks and valleys, it's how we get through the valleys that makes us stonger
Kentucky is green without as many evergreens! It is beautiful as well.
Thanks Scott. I found one if those lighters at Walmart, love it, in van life it's the little things that makes me happy.

Hey Thanks. I appreciate having you here and like seeing your positive comments!
and the Sierras are very beautiful as well, mostly in the Northern part.
Clippers. I used to let my hair and beard grow 3-4 weeks, then trim it down to stubble. Good show!

Hey, Scott. You're some man! The talk about the rain is so like 🇮🇪 Ireland!! You're looking good in spite of the rain.
It’s always sunny when your talking 😊
Wow! That's Heavy sister 😎
Yes! on the spritz of water on your coffee beans to get a more even grind. When I forget, I get an uneven grind with chunks in it again.
Bless you.
Your appreciation of nature's beauty is contagious ❤ Yay for self haircuts!

Wow. That overlook is so beautiful. The clouds make it look even more majestic. Just wow. Thank you for enduring the cold and mud. 😊

Can you just imagine the pioneer’s thoughts as they finally reached the Pacific Ocean in locations like this. Wow! I’m never leaving.

Spend $15 on a good barber. It’s the best feeling and money worth spending!
What a coincidence! I just read an article about a tiny bit of water helping the grinder! They said it helps reduce static which makes grounds stick to the grinder.
There’s been a lot of talk about adding water lately. So far, it certainly seems beneficial
Cool info! Thanks!
Wind is nice so long as it is not a cold wind. I love a nice warm wind.

Sometimes I think it’s harder to deal with the damp air versus colder temperatures that have dry air. But then again, warmer is probably better
@StaticCamperVan 🤷♀️ I've never been in super cold, but dry climates so I don't have an opinion, but yes, warmer sounds better to me!

I’m still wearing a hat. Maybe tomorrow
How much water do you carry in your van?
The Dodge Promaster is certainly a nice looking van only if Dodge would correct the engine and transmission issues!!
@jamieo8653 lately, I’ve been carrying about 12 gallons of water. I can carry as much as 16 gallons at a time
Pretty landscape, I'm a California native, Cindy 👋
We noticed how well your white porcelain pot fits perfectly into your sink! The universe was definitely with you when those two came together! :)
