    I’m no expert or vocal coach, but it must take a lot of skill to be able to sing in that style.

    • @darmakx99
      @darmakx99 2 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      I've been trying to learn for like a year, and I only recently figured out how to do false cord distortion. Most people pick it up a lot faster than I did lol. Once I did figure it out, I found the basic mechanic behind it isn't that difficult to do but to get it to sound good takes a LOT of practice and effort. Alex Terrible (the singer of this song) had been doing distorted vocals for about 14 years by the time this song was written and released, and he is definitely amazing and talented.

    • @randywissler9923
      @randywissler9923 2 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Alex, the singer, has been working on that style for 12 years. He doesn't have a very deep normal speaking voice.

    • @matttake4852
      @matttake4852 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@darmakx99 I do distorted vocals for 13 years and i'm not even nearly as good as Alex, mainly because I used a wrong technique for about 10 years and it got me off road (nothing dangerous for my vocal cords but I had not enough "power" on my vocal back then), but yeah, once u figure it out it takes only a lot of pratice but you will become good if you pratice enough

    • @csnoob02
      @csnoob02 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Most people need a lot of time to learn how to activate their false cord's distortion and also learn how to use their diaphragm, plenty of people will never be able to do what u hear here.
      There are 3 layers on this video just so u know.

    • @Killergold88
      @Killergold88 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      To do it safely is the key. It took me years to learn most of the styles, and for being a metal head for closing in on 20 years i still cant to some things comfortably. The "fry" and or "false chord" is what most people learn first because it is the most common to hear in metal vocals. Be safe when learning, and if it hurts, stop, and try a different approach. It will be uncomfortable at first, but eventually youll find a technique that works. Great example. When i do a "pig squeal" i actually inhale to make the noise, because the twisting needed to it with an exhale just doesnt work for me.
      To most people it may just sound like scratchy growls, but there is real technique behind these sounds. Alex here can do most of the sounds of a metal vocalist but he is best known for his low low "gutterals", and more so for something called "tunneling". Whats most amazing his how fluently he can switch between all the sounds. There are times in some of his songs that he switches from a tunnel into an almost clean sound, then back again within maybe a note or two and that my friends...... is pure madness

    Hi! You should check out Necrophagist. They were a technical death metal band from Germany in the late 90s-early 00s and they were insanely technically proficient. Would love to see your reaction to "Ignominious and Pale" or "Stabwound." They just disappeared around 2010 and nobody has heard a thing from them since. The guitarist, Suicmez, wrote all of the instruments and performed them on the first album - which is absolutely insane - and he has a crazy unique sound as he was influenced by classical music and early death.

    There is some contention around harsh vocals being pitch less. Someone already commented about them being a bandwidth of noise with a movable centre and for pure fry/false vocal that's true, but true phonation can be added to blend noise with pitch. Alex does this on Made in Russia specifically and there's plenty of vocalists that add fry to their true phonation.

    ...so what did you get from your first listen to STP's Demolisher? Aggressive cuddles. I think I'm in love! Keep up the awesome work!

    Immortal disfigurement- dragged through the inferno. The song is good but the last min or so is insane vocally

    Beth, I recommend reaching for a bit more "classic" version of "deep" growl, I recommend Cannibal Corpse "Evisceration Plague", including this and no other song by the band because it is quite "calm" (calm , i mind 🤣🤣)

    Check out viking it is just as awesome. The vocals was all Alex. I saw them live a few months ago and he sounded just like this video.

    Alex the terrible did an epic cover of Aqua's Barbie girl. The best part about it was that you tell that they were having so much fun shooting the video.

    I'd have never thought, in all my days, I'd find such a sweet young lady, giggling to hardcore death metal, and describing it as "a cuddle". It must have happened, I've now seen it all, I've reached the end of the internet...
    RIP to your beloved queen.😥

    Would love to see you react to any Seven Spires song! “Gods of Debauchery” is one that gets a lot of YT reactions, but it truly is a fantastic place to start for one’s first time hearing them. Her voice isn’t as downright demonic as Alex Terrible, but she can do a huge range of distortion styles AND crisp cleans.
