Apparently the sonoff zigbee devices will work with deConz on HA as well, if you have that already setup on HA and don't want the cloud involved.
HA should be able to convert the temp.

For zigbee that is incredible slow. I have the sneaking suspicion that those rules live somewhere in the cloud and the bridge has to talk all the way to Chine or whereever they run. Would ve nice to try with wifi internet blocked for the bridhe.

I'll buy one and bank it until there is a nice hack. I have a lot of ZB lights (Ikea) I won't be buying any more as the conbee is to unstable, but for those lights I have, it'll be an alternative to the Ikea hub that is properly awful

Thank you. Just the kind of video I was looking for. I have some quick questions. Will be nice if you can answer them.
Firstly, the black RF bridge will connect ANY 433 MHz device with sonoff (ewelink) app where as the ZB bridge will only connect ZB devices? Am I right?
Secondly, If I do not have any ZB devices, then does it make sense to buy 433 MHz RF bridge instead and buy cheaper door sensors, PIR sensors etc and use them with Ewelink app? Thank once again.

Which model of the door switch is used to indicate the Open AND Closed position?
I'm looking for something simple that would give me an indication when my garage doors are left open.
I was looking at Sonoff RF Bridge and Sonoff DW1 door switch but it only gives an alarm when the door opens (no feedback that the door has closed back or status O/C).
Integration with Google Home mini to query door status would be beneficial but door O/C status on the phone would be enough.

This will not work with tasmota or ESPurna because the protocol to communicate with the Silicon Labs chipset is not the same as the one created for zigbee2mqtt.
Hi, I’ve searched and read a lot these days about Zigbee so I give you some informations :
Silicon Lbas use its own protocol called EmberZNet, a serial protocol documented here :
    www.silabs.com/documents/public/user-guides/ug100-ezsp-reference-guide.pdf
There’s already a very good DIY gateway which use an ESP32 and a CC2538 (a lot better than cc2531 because there’s not a small limit of the number of devices). It ‘s called SLS gateway. I’ve made a small article on it here :
    www.reddit.com/r/homeassistant/comments/g30zq2/sls_zigbee_gateway_a_new_zigbee_gateway_based_on/
This gateway is zigbee to mqtt and doesn’t need an additional software : all the logic is in the ESP32. I’ve done mine and it works very well since few weeks. But the CC2538 has the same firmware than zigbee2mqtt so it will not be compatible neither with this Sonoff device… 🙁
So this new gateway from sonoff is very interesting because the zigbee chipset is probably good too for the price.
Read this article to learn informations about the EFR32MGxxx :
    sprut.ai/client/article/2583
Also interesting : EmberZNet is already supported by home assistant with ZHA… but it is created to communicate with a silicon labs chipset on a USB dongle, not with MQTT…
Now we have to wait that someone handle the EmberZNet protocol on an ESP8266 or ESP32 😉
