Shop manual calls for 12NM torque for the original style pump, I imagine the new ones ought to be the same, thanks for the video. Makes my life so much easier!
Thanks for your video! I just replaced the same pump on my 2017 Discover 5 with the 3.0 SC engine, and it was great to have your video as a reference. Thankfully mine already had the newer style pump, so I was able to reuse the hardware. I have a Mityvac 7201 oil extractor and pump that I used to suck out the oil beforehand, and pump back into the sump right after completing the job. Made it nice and easy, and also mess free. Hopefully this one lasts, and the original was leaking at 50k miles.
Awesome video! Thanks! Help me replaced mine. Solved oil leak but I still have no brakes. Still stiff and pedal will not retract back out. What do you think is wrong with my brakes? 2010 Jaguar XF supercharged
Just for information guys. Who will plan to change it: put oil inside before screwing new in place. And by the way, new one is different inside, blade ends are made from plastic. Case of this, the previous generation vacuum pumps can jam and brake oil pump chain or even High Pressure pumps shaft.
Sounds like you only replaced the one mounting gasket on the original pump instead of buying the kit with the 2 gaskets and 2 orings. I bet if you had changed all the seals, the original would have been fine.
Do you need to drain the engine oil to replace the pump? I was thinking of putting the truck in extended height mode and driving onto a ramp with the RF tire to move the oil to the back of the pan.
nice video but no operation troubleshooting, before and after syptoms, cause this is happening and at same time smoking out the back with performance issues
White smoke is indicative of the engine burning coolant, so a potential cracked block or head gasket. Unfortunately pump replacement won't help. Get a second pair of eyes to look at it.
The white smoke is common with a failing PCV on these engines. Cheap and easy to replace on the right rocker cover and there are 2x of them. Round flat black plastic caps with a diaphragm under them

Watched this video prior to changing vacuum pump today. A big help, thanks. I lost no oil by raising the front up about 8 inches. Tks.
Raising the front was a good call. Nice job.
Dude, liked the video. Kinda chill and relaxing
Hey man thank you! Would be awesome if you could putting the part numbers for the pump, gasket and bolts in the description.
muy linda ❤🎉😊 ❤❤ gracias 😊🎉❤🎉 1:21 1:24
Do u have the video for tdv6 brake vacuum pump replacement?
Awesome video! Thanks! Help me replaced mine. Solved oil leak but I still have no brakes. Still stiff and pedal will not retract back out. What do you think is wrong with my brakes?

I've been told (on a 3.o sdv6) that it's a body off job as access if horrible. Is this a 2.7 or 3.0? Thanks
it's the 5.0 V8. Take off the bottom skid plate and have a look. You might be able to reach it without the body off.

does this pump suppplie vac for the brakes?
Yes

Probably. I idiot my way through a lot of this stuff.

No, but you will lose about 2 quarts of oil when you take it off, so catch it in a pan, measure it, then put the same amount of fresh oil back in.
@@fredbrackely thank you. I drained the oil and put it all back in. Seemed easier than making a mess. Thanks for the video. It helped greatly.

Hey quick question by replacing a leaky pump will it help stop with white smoke? While driving

Did you ever find the torque specs for those bolts?
18ft/lbs
23nm for install bolts cover bolts are 10nm vacuum line adaptor 5 nm
Nice video! Same question for me will this work with a 2012 5.0 Supercharged? Thank you in advance
It should
You have the gasket part #
LR012685 IIRC
My pump just went tits on me also!! What year is your Rover? Will this work with a 2011 HSE? Thanks so much for this.
Its a 2010 - yes, this will work with the 2011 HSE V8. Sorry for the late reply, I got temporarily banned by the communists who run TH-cam.
