In defense of the N is Zoroark theory, Zoroarks don't have to see something to transform into it, because it is creating something from its imagination. Also for the trading theory, the reason that they evolve when traded is the energy they are exposed to. They could get exposed to similar energy in the wild, or maybe know another way to replicate the effect, but the only way Trainers know how to evolve them is to trade them.
True. Zorua is known to transform into small children and walk around among people all the time. Also, some trade evo's just provide ideal situations, like the trade between Karrablast and Shelmet, which is just an opportunity for Karrablast to mug the Shelmet and steal its armor, resulting in the newly souped up Excavalier, and the resentful, but much faster, Accelgor.
@@samarmstrong3651 Correction, Zorua transforms into SILENT children. Also the biggest thing against N being a Zorua/Zoroark is no one at any point in time mentioning him turning back into a pokemon. The whole "Kanto has 8 gyms yet Gary has 10 badges" theory explained. In the anime, one of the first episodes says that in order to gain access to a Pokémon league you must have 8 badges. They never say all 8. That leads you to interpret that there are more gyms in ADDITION, Brock and misty have both suggest on multiple occasions that there are more gyms. Misty is deadset on Ash not going to cerulean asking him if they could go to a different gym. Brock has also pointed ash in the direction of a gym. They also go to many town not found in the game. Given that so many towns exist it is possible there is a gym for each type in kanto.
0:56 for this theory there might be an explanation. In the gen 5 games introduction we can see a Zorua besides N, along with a Darmanitan and a swoobat. We know for a fact that Ghetsis is....not really the kindest person on earth, not even to his adopted child. Maybe he killed N in a fit of rage because he didn't listen to him like he would've wanted, took the Zorua, and made him evolve to make him transform into N. We know that some Zoroark can talk and behave exactly like a human would.
I think a theory could be Ash’s dad was the champion Blue beat in the Kanto games. Also one of the extra badges Gary had might have been from the fighting dojo next to Sabrinas gym. @@dragonheart1357 there still would’ve been a moment between them when others weren’t around. I’ve already seen the theory on Giovanni. Still doesn’t fit, because ashes father went away to become the greatest Pokémon trainer not a mafia boss.

The crossbones thing with Koffing and Weezing could be seen from a different angle: they are the universal symbol for danger BECAUSE they are the markings on a dangerous poisonous Pokémon. In that event, the Pokémon would come first, and then humans would learn to associate the markings on Koffing and Weezing with danger and start using them in their daily lives. I don't remember where I saw that theory, but that makes for a fun (and deep) think. It's a "what came first, the egg or the chicken" thing.
You also have to remember that within the world of pokemon there are many pokemon that are based on man-made objects and also predate those man-made objects, as called out by professor Juniper.
One of my favourite theories is that Pokémon that evolve while being traded are so sad for being traded away and being seen as weak they gain new powers and thus evolutions.
Got to love the theory about Fuji creating Mewtwo. While it has been confirmed, they didn't touch on the fact that Blaine also was one of the scientists who helped create Mewtwo.
when mewtwo was created his creators wanted it to be the strongest pokemon ever...or something like that...I presume the mega evolutions and inability to freely transform stem from the changes they made, someone probably went: mega evolution, conditional power ontop of more power, yes, that sounds stronger, lets tune it's transformations to that rather than just being able to turn into any/everything else at random
When talking about the multiple gyms idea, I like to think theirs places for kids to train for gyms and these places are considered gyms but for like little league and not intended to be actually challenged. Like kids could train a bit in these minor gyms for fun and could decide if becoming a Pokemon trainer was a good choice for them.
I'm surprised that the "Shadow Triad is the Striaton Triplets" theory isn't mentioned in the ridiculous theories, and it's kinda funny since it's debunked in B2/W2.
I like the Maxie theory. 2 years before Gen 2, in Hoenn, Silver, who is somewhere between the ages of 8-14, has a middle aged son. That just makes perfect sense! I love it!
fun fact: ash actually aged, but only 1 year, making him 11 years old; after all, in alola, the minimum trainer age is 11 years old not 10. so basically 20 years for us is 1 year for ash
@@adammorin2955 in what episode?? i only watch the journeys anime in japanese so maybe it's something that's only in the translated version of maybe i missed an episode
Another theory for Ash not aging, probably because he had seen Ho-oh in the first episode, i remember like anyone who seen Ho-oh gets eternal happiness, and i suppose Ash's eternal happiness made him not aging. I heard this theory from some person and i kept it true for me
@Arcana zero Studios tbh the "it's all a dream and the main character is in a coma" is such a bad theory with almost no effort put into it You could say that for every other show, Like maybe Phineas and Ferb is in a coma and all the things they built were imaginated and that's why they never feel tired
The Ash is 10 forever theory should make sense. The Ho-Oh granted his wish and that Ash died have to work together. Here me out. It has been said that Ho-Oh guides people and Pokémon into the afterlife. It has the ability to revive perished parties (see: the Beast Trio). Ho-Oh appeared before Ash to not only guide him over the Rainbow Bridge but it also appears because he was willing to risk himself for Pikachu, a Pokémon that essentially wanted nothing to do with him. I believe Ash was revived by Ho-Oh after these events instead of being brought over the Rainbow Bridge into the spirit world, thus making him a Rainbow Guardian. It explains why he can die and be rebirthed/revived, it explains his superhuman strength (lifting Pokémon much heavier than he should be able to). It explains why he never ages but his spirit continues to grow. It explains why he is a chosen one and is able to calm/make friends with legendaries/mythicals. In essence he did die but was then revived and presented with a blessing to not only discover/meet all Pokémon but to protect them as well.
Sidenote: I think a better "N and Zoroark" theory would be that it's kind of a "changeling tale" sorta thing, based around the Pokedex entries for Zorua. 1. We know that N was abandoned in the forest as a kid. 2. We know that Ghetsis isn't N's real dad. 3. We know from Zorua's Pokedex entries that Zorua often replace human children using their illusions. So my theory is that N was a human boy who was lured away into the forest by a Zorua while another Zorua went to N's birth family pretending to be him. While the Zorua lived as N to his oblivious family, Ghetsis found the real N in the forest and took him in and the rest is history.
10:33 This may just be the biased view of a D&D player, but wishes are rarely ever absolute boons. Wishes are usually left to the interpretation (and temperament) of the one fulfilling the wish. It's entirely possible that Ho-oh doesn't fully understand humans and gave Ash his wish in the most literal way. Gods are often aloof to mortal problems after all...
One of my favorite (well least favorite) things about the Pokémon community is how they can't just accept that time doesn't really pass in anime. Ash doesn't age because the writers don't want him to. That's it'. It's the same reason Mickey Mouse isn't dead when we all know mice don't have 80+ year lifespans. Also why does everyone focus on Ash... Not a single person in the anime ages.
I remember reading a theory that Mimikyus are dead Dedenne. That would explain the fairy type and why it wants to mimic Pikachu (since Dedenne is a pika clone).
Fun fact: Phantump was actually created through a free drawing in an artist casting interview. It eventually got the dark lore about the children in the forest
Pikachu's name been Jean-Luc is actually from the "The Electric Tale of Pikachu" manga where Ash's Pikachu is named Jean-Luc Pikachu. It is a reference to the Star Trek character, Jean-Luc Picard.
My take on the Ditto and Mew theory is that when creating clones you need stem cells. My belief is that when scientists extracted those stem cells from Mew the cells mutated into a blob and became Ditto. The scientists then spent time trying to isolate these stem cells without them mutating and when they were able to do so they created Mew. This theory helps explain why Ditto appear in other wild areas as it is possible other groups have attempted this procedure before.
Maybe this is just me being an N stan, but I actually kinda hate the "N is totally just a Zoroark" theory. It just kinda feels like it misses the point of N's character--that he's a human who understands Pokemon, because he was raised among them and he feels kinship with them, and over the course of his journey regains his humanity while still keeping his connection to Pokemon. The worst part, imo, is that it kind of...unintentionally vindicates Ghetsis? Remember when Ghetsis called N "a freak without a human heart"? Well, if N is _genuinely not human,_ then it MUST be true! Yeah, I don't like this theory at all. On a lighter note, we actually may have some recent vindication for the Cubone being a baby Kangaskhan one, since beta Kangaskhan was revealed and it looks suspiciously similar to Marowak...
I see your point but I disagree, about N point as a character well English is not my first language and I don't really know/remember the exact words to explain it but more than ruining it the theory give it a turn from a human raised among pokemon regaining his humanity to a pokemon that learning to understand and create bonds with humans And about the human heart part it really doesn't vindicate ghetsis it does the opposite even if N is not human he does a lot of things we associate with having a heart like caring about others N heart even if he is a zoroark is far more human that ghetsis will ever be. But again it's just the way I see it maybe I right maybe you are right or maybe we are both wrong that's the magic/frustrating part of a theory
0:42 The two biggest problem with this reasoning: 1. He only uses 5 Pokémon in the Tower, thus is makes no sense his Raticate was already replaced. 2. He asks why you're there, because none of your Pokémon are dead. That implies that one of his actually is. (Or one that he knew, like one that belonged to his parents and died when he was young or something.)
The main debunking for this theory is that with 2 of his battles where he still has a Rattata, the first battle Rattata is a higher level than the second battle Rattata, implying that he just switched out which Rattata he was using. He probably just boxed the Raticate since it was just a filler mon and a dex entry for him to evolve if we're being realistic.
@@aereon_gaming I don't know where you remembered this from, but Blue only used Rattata once, in Cerulean City. On the S.S. Anne (which is skippable), he uses Raticate. And then in Pokémon Tower, he has neither. And while he could have easily boxed it, you'd only really do that if your team was already full.
You can battle Oak's team in R/B/Y using the missingno glitch (cinnabar surf) or the trainer skip glitch (the one most of us used to get Mew) depending on the letters/placement of letters in your name or your opponent's special stat, respectively.
This is such a fun video! Different from your usual, but I really enjoyed it. Definitely down to do a deep dive into some more Pokémon conspiracy theories sometime!
There is literally battle data in Red and Blue for Professor Oak, with a team consisting of Tauros, Exeggutor, Arcanine, Gyarados, and a starter, presumably the one weak to yours that was left in the lab.
People have theorized that the 8th Kanto gym was originally going to be the flying type, since the badge is shaped like a feather, but I think it was going to be a bird gym, a type that existed in the code of gens 1 and 2.
Something I haven't seen and could explain clefable not getting one of either form. Aside from Clefairy being the original mascot and being replaced. Is that Gengar being the shadow of Clefable means it could shift and distort. Also Clefable gaining the fairy type I feel strengthens the theory as Gengar now is stronger and could be the reason why.
I'm surprised at how little exposure there is for the theory about Giratina and how it has like 6 wings, 6 rib cages, and 6 wings, and 666 is the devil's number, making giratina an even more direct allegory to the devil
the article DID say that maybe ash wished for an eternal joruney. that doesnt JUST apply to ash. maybe he could have wanted to have an eternal journey with friends
Gary/Rival's Raticate only knew Tackle, Tail whip, Quick attack, and Hyper Fang.. And the Gastlys there only know Lick, Confuse Ray, and Night Shade.. He probably didn't want to get in a really long, boring battle if he was left with just his Raticate.
4:13 I actually have one about why they evolve when traded. The Pokémon thinks the trainer doesn’t think it’s good enough and evolves to strive to be better
For trade evolutions, at least Gen 1 there are several aspects that seem to indicate incomplete data transfer. Graveler has 4 arms and Machoke has 2...Machamp has 4 arms and Golem has 2; etc. Even Pokedex entry details swap, with elements from Kadabra's entries in Gengar entries and details from Haunter's entries winding up mentioned in Alakazam's entries. We see this with item-mandated trades, where the Pokemon takes on properties of the item they are holding. A la Scyther with a Metal Coat becoming Scizor. This also anticipates the mechanic for specified trades (Shelmet and Karrablast evolve when specifically traded with each other).
With Phantump having such a sad origin, it just makes me want to love one of my favourite pokemon even more, to give them comfort and stop them being scared and lost
Hey John, you heard the theory that the Accelgor/Escavalier trade system was meant to be there from the beginning? Like with Graveler and Machoke, Machamp getting Graveler's arms, and Golem getting Machoke's face shape.
i just had a thought, if only a champion or former champion can enter the hall of fame then who makes it so clean? like is the janitor a former champion? how did their carrier go from literal champion of their respective league to janitor?
I remember watching a video on a mimikyu theory: Basically, it said that mimikyu was actually a gastly. Let me explain: They share many moves, a type and the other type was introduced in a generation prior to gastly’s first appearance. In the anime, when meowth looks at mimikyu gas comes out and in the strange dream world thing the gastly evolution line appear. Also I forgot the move name but the theory said that gastly can learn a move that would make sense with all of the deaths from looking at mimikyu’s real form. Yeah I know, kinda crazy but not as crazy as the pyukumuku theory lol, back then it was either you believe the gastly theory or the pyukumuku one.
I thought Sword and Shield established that there was a G-League for gyms, and gyms can be promoted or demoted, to mirror how teams in the Premier League can be promoted or demoted.
In Galar it been stated you can make your gym but only like the popular ones people go,but i though the fightning gym in Kanto prove there can also be multiple
3:25 #3 kangaskhan and cubone can actually breed together so thats more likely fact than theory. Whoever made the next evolution like 20 years later probably didnt know the hidden lore
The Hoenn-anime actually solves the question of how trade-evolutions work in an episode about Huntail and Gorebyss. They just need to be teleported, not traded. After they get teleported to the Pokemon Center, they'll evolve outside the ball if the Clamperl holds the required item. That should be in episode 95 of Advanced.
I feel like for the trading theory, I think Pokémon might have evolution methods we've never heard of or are impossible or too dangerous for us humans to do. Or their methods are more similar to the anime when they're in the wild.
Also about the Pikachu that Ash has, It was Given to him by Oak. The reason this is big is because due to the time travel stuff that happened with Celiebi and ask being in the past and meating with the young trainer that was friends with Celiebi that is later revealed to be Oak as a child, It makes the opening of Pokemon so much more hilarious knowing that Oak Knew who ash was and specifically held onto a difficult Pikachu just for Ash, then played it down like "well I'll see what I have in the Back"
I think the bigest mystery in history of pokemons is how can mewtwo mega evolve . Isn't mewtwo a Pokemon created by scientist so how can it have a mega stone?. Not only that it has two mega stone.
In the Black and 2 Adventures manga, they explained that once Genesect was revived by Team Plasma, they modified their bodies and added cannons and all of the metallic body parts, and Genesect was originally a pure Bug-type Pokémon. That actually sounds like a cool concept.
yeah, the ditto one is entirely true. I can't remember where, but I saw somewhere that while cloning mew, since they only had A SINGLE CELL of it's DNA, the scientists thought they could just duplicate the cell and put a bunch of them together, which created Ditto. At which point, they cloned ditto since they realised it's ability to transform was super useful. After that, they created Mewtwo, and then cloned even MORE ditto to make an army or smthn
i actually much prefer the mimikyu theory that it is a dead clefairy, as it would explain ghost/fairy type and it makes sense for it to hate pikachu, clefairy was going to be the mascot for pokemon and then pikachu took it away

Ash's father being the final boss of the anime is a theory I too had come up with years ago. My idea also had him use the Ho-oh Ash saw in the first episode as his ace Pokemon, while Ash is using Mewtwo from the first movie
I'm pretty sure the Kangashakn theory (i cannot spell that pokemon name ^^U) was confirmed by the gen 2 beta, where you could catch baby kangaskan and evolve them into Cubone.
wait no, Mimikyu ISN'T a deceased Pichu, I can back this up because in Mimikyu's pokedex entry it says: "Mimikyu's disguise is modeled after Pikachu because of the popularity of Pikachu-styled merchandise, thinking that its disguise would allow it to make friends with people.Unfortunately, this attempt makes its disguise look more creepy." So Mimikyu only wanted to make friends and it isn't a dead Pichu
4:58 This theory is insane cuz Hoenn games take place at the same time as kanto games and maxie is 27 y/o in RSE & ORAS and Silver Is 10 or 11 In GSC & HGSS which take place 3 years after RSE & ORAS.So,Silver Can't be Maxie's father cuz he is younger than him at a later point in time.
About the Mr. Fuji created Mewtwo theory, it's actually confirmed by the movie - Mewtwo strikes back. In the movie, the professor who created Mewtwo was called Dr. Fuji. Mr. Fuji never showed up in the anime so a lot of people just thought this was a naming coincidence until there is more and more evidence proving this. The photo with Blaine in Cinnabar Gym, noting that Mr. Fuji did live there in the past, where Mewtwo is made. Also if you manage to find the Faraway Island in Pokemon Emerald, there is actually a faded sign on the island stating something about Mew. The person who left that sign was Mr. Fuji. Why? Obviously, he went to get Mew's DNA in order to make Mewtwo.
4:08 That or there is a method to evolving trade evolutions that doesn't require trading that Game Freak has been withholding from us for years. Also Phantump was designed by James Turner.
I really believe the Venonat Butterfree theory, my only qualm with it is that Venonat and Venomoth have a very similar name, but this could be explained if the switch was on purpose.
The English localization wasn't a thing until Pokemon went viral in Japan. In other words, the English names aren't something that was decided during the game designing process. And I'm pretty sure these two Pokémon's Japanese name aren't similer. (Venonat = Konban, Venomoth = Morufon)
There’s the theory that ash’s pikachu was swapped at the pokecentre, the anime episode with lots of pikachus and potentially ash took a different one with him.
One: Ditto is Not a byproduct of Mew cloning... It's an ingredient. They used Mew DNA AND Dittos UNIQUE cellular composition to create Mewtwo. Two: N resembles Zoroark because he was RAISED by Zoroark. The Zorua in plasmas CASTLE is his brother, and the Zoroark You encounter is His adoptive Mother, keeping an eye on her helpless child. Three: Apparently, the current series will reveal Ash's dad... Or possibly the next series... Also, he's never there because he's lost. Season 1 DID mention he took two weeks vto get from pallet to viridian, which Ash and the others covered overnight... So hes got a worse sense of direction than Ash... Hell, he might still be lost in KANTO... Four: THEY NEVER AVOIDED POKEMON DEATH... Lavender Town, gen 1. Five: In the associated manga, Jessie and James aren't just dating, they got married and Jessie was pregnant. Not canon, but who cares. Six: Arcanine AND Ninetales were both initially legendaries, Based on the Shiisa and Yoko, respectively. Seven: the origins anime WAS NOT the first confirmation of Fujis connection to Mewtwo. In FireRed and LeafGreen the mysterious journals are signed DR Fuji.
Years ago, I've read Arcanine is supposed to be a legendary pokemon (I still believe it is a legendary) but developers (or bosses, whatever) thought a dog legendary would be weird with two birds in same generation. Then, they changed Arcanine to a normal pokemon and created Moltres.

Pokemon Theory: In regards to N, I believe that the original N may have been one of the first people to have interacted with and befriended the Zoroark and that person wound up putting themselves in harms way to save the Zoroark, so the Zoroark took the place of N so that in a way it could carry out N's goals and continue their friendship even after the loss of the original N, this would explain why a number of people mention N acting odd and also that he hasn't changed in a while at the same time. The Zoroark wouldn't be able to perfectly mimic N for long, and would only know what N looked like while the Zoroark knew N, so physically N wouldn't change, but the flighty personality of the Zoroark along with it not knowing much of interacting with people other than N would be a possible huge shift in personality.

Got to love the theory about Fuji creating Mewtwo. While it has been confirmed, they didn't touch on the fact that Blaine also was one of the scientists who helped create Mewtwo.
I feel like the biggest mystery in the Pokémon Universe is why Mewtwo can't learn Transform when he's a clone of a Pokémon who CAN learn it.
Some DNA was lost or mutated during the cloning process, I assume. Otherwise, they'd look the same, and they don't.
and why the Mewtwo has 2 mega evolutions and the mew that is the original doesn't have any
when mewtwo was created his creators wanted it to be the strongest pokemon ever...or something like that...I presume the mega evolutions and inability to freely transform stem from the changes they made, someone probably went: mega evolution, conditional power ontop of more power, yes, that sounds stronger, lets tune it's transformations to that rather than just being able to turn into any/everything else at random
Half his dna literally came from blaine hes not an exact clone of mew
in the manga mewtwo doesn't have enough mew cells, so they use human cells, specifically a certain ex-team rocket scientist with glasses

This is really well thought out👍, pretty believable
So, your theory is… N ISN’T a Zoroark, but somewhere out there there IS a Zoroark pretending to be N? Am I understanding that right?

One of my favorite (well least favorite) things about the Pokémon community is how they can't just accept that time doesn't really pass in anime. Ash doesn't age because the writers don't want him to. That's it'. It's the same reason Mickey Mouse isn't dead when we all know mice don't have 80+ year lifespans.
Also why does everyone focus on Ash... Not a single person in the anime ages.

I see your point but I disagree, about N point as a character well English is not my first language and I don't really know/remember the exact words to explain it but more than ruining it the theory give it a turn from a human raised among pokemon regaining his humanity to a pokemon that learning to understand and create bonds with humans
And about the human heart part it really doesn't vindicate ghetsis it does the opposite even if N is not human he does a lot of things we associate with having a heart like caring about others N heart even if he is a zoroark is far more human that ghetsis will ever be.
But again it's just the way I see it maybe I right maybe you are right or maybe we are both wrong that's the magic/frustrating part of a theory
Mikey's Team Sky bit never fails to make me laugh.
0:42 The two biggest problem with this reasoning:
@hat That makes sense, considering the eixstence of the Exp.All. (And it worked out for him, as he always appears overleveled as Champion.)
You can battle Oak's team in R/B/Y using the missingno glitch (cinnabar surf) or the trainer skip glitch (the one most of us used to get Mew) depending on the letters/placement of letters in your name or your opponent's special stat, respectively.

Zoroark doesn't necessarily have to look like something that actually already exists. It can look how it wants.
Or the person Zoroark is copying is a younger version of Ghetsis, as they have simmilar features.
So N is just Zoroark’s Humansona?

Something I haven't seen and could explain clefable not getting one of either form. Aside from Clefairy being the original mascot and being replaced. In gen 1, night shade could hit normal pokemon. Seismic toss could hit ghost pokemon
I always thought that Red was Ash's father, when he comes back to become the champion of Kanto, he'll have to beat THE boss.
Evolve one into a legend and bring him to the pokemon hall of Fame. Make his life purpose complete.
Lance has a day time job of cleaning the hall of fame
Well pretty sure the champion keeps it clean as one of their jobs

The Hoenn-anime actually solves the question of how trade-evolutions work in an episode about Huntail and Gorebyss. They just need to be teleported, not traded. After they get teleported to the Pokemon Center, they'll evolve outside the ball if the Clamperl holds the required item. That should be in episode 95 of Advanced.

yeah, the ditto one is entirely true.

Years ago, I've read Arcanine is supposed to be a legendary pokemon (I still believe it is a legendary) but developers (or bosses, whatever) thought a dog legendary would be weird with two birds in same generation. Then, they changed Arcanine to a normal pokemon and created Moltres.
It probably comes from the Pokemon anime with Arcanine being displayed with the legendary bird trio
