This music is so powerful and will stick with me forever. Helped me through a very strange period of my life. I will remember this, Radio Dept., The Las, Elvis Depressedly forever. Very somber and eerie but hopeful music. Really influenced a lot of later stuff.
It's becoming ever-increasingly true for me. The thing is, I'm actually coming to accept it as my fate. At this age I am now, and with the way the world has gone deeper into the dumpster, there's really not much reason to challenge it now. Maybe I actually thought differently in my early twenties Uni days of the mid-'90s when I first heard of the Field Mice, but those are all so hazy now.

i was born in 79, so i caught the last of the original, sometimes cheesy, but ever-awesome music .. the 60s would have been the best time to be born... late 50s early 60s ..

My friends and I have always said the dream pop/shoegaze late 80's and throughout high school for us (I assume you're 97 or 98) was the second wave of psychedelic music and only wave since the 60's. Politically, we weren't screwed over the way Nixon and his muffin, Hoover, did the 60's-70's Vietnam era folks and the rest of the country, but it appears we are getting close again. ...walking away now. Wait. I'd have loved to live through the 70's as a college kid for the music alone. Every genre seemed to peak during that decade. Now we are in to sub sub sub categories. Oh yeah preferably before they went all drugs are bad too. I want to try these qualudes I hear so much about.
