These guys are perfect.
Shoegaze, ambient, dark wave, industrial, etc.
Great mix of my favorite sounds!!!!
This is the kind of music I used to seek back in the mid- 80's. This is today's underground. People that say there is no good music today aren't digging hard enough.
Absolutely there were good music 12 years ago but not now. Not at all!
I feel you on that
I’m late but here’s my view. You say it’s the music you seemed for in the 80s which means this music is almost 30 years old already. That’s what we mean when we say there’s no good music anymore, there are no new genuine music that’s outstanding, what’s good happens to be old music only played by new artists. But nothing truly new.
clawing
I was born in 2002, and can say I think you guys generation had it good in terms of 'mainstream' music exposure!
The horrors deserve more attention!! They are awesome
Uh? Are you kidding me? 3 million and a 1/3 views on this song alone means it's popular.
3 million and 1/3 views means they'repopular not unpopular.
FOR COVERING UP FOR CHILD RAPE WITH POPE FRANCES? THEY SO DESERVE MORE LOVE AND ATTENTION. YOU ARE SO RIGHT.
I may be responsible for a million or so😊
"...a kiss that can only mean goodbye.... " -classic.
that's not what he says
Classic Shangri las lyric. Its a rip off.

Man, I love this song. The keyboards are fucking awesome.
I never meant for you to get hurt,
And how I tried,
Oh how I tried.
I could never give you just what you deserved,
Another man, would surely learn.
I know these words, they only serve to twist the knife,
but I'll strive, to make them heard.
Maybe it's better now I've gone away,
Maybe it's not,
Oh who can say.
And though it's hard, for me to say,
I know you're better off this way.
And when I told her I didn't love her anymore,
She cried.
And when I told her, her kisses were not like before,
She cried.
And when I told her another girl had caught my eye,
She cried.
And I kissed her, with a kiss that could only mean goodbye.
And though it's hard, for me to say,
Maybe you're better off this way.
And though it's hard, for me to say,
I know you're better off this way.
Get away,
Get away,
Get away,
Get away,
Get away,
Get away
what a waste of time we have ears
@@sduddy ironically your comment was the unnecessary one
Haven't heard this song for years and then suddenly it came into my head

Drummer looks like Ian Curtis from Joy Division...
coincidence? I think not

This is such an underrated band and I am so appreciative of his art and his performance. I love the horrors!!!!!!!!!!
And when she told me she didn't like the Horrors,
I cried...

"And I kissed her, with a kiss that could only mean goodbye."
Holy fuck, that is the most depressing line I have heard in a long time. I love it.
This is so sad :(
I love the surreality of their sound. It kind of adds an airy freedom behind the crashy guitars. Soothing and exciting at the same time. You've gotta love a band that has depth.
I could listen to the spoken bit forever
january 2016 anyone? just found this band recently and theyre so rad
shut up poser
+Alex Wolf eres el puto amo!
That is kind of rude, she just did knew them. Take it easy, in a moment we were like her.
howtomakeamonster rad band
I just found them in 2019.
Can’t get enough!!!!!
One of the best post punk- indie bands of all time. Their first album is amazing too
This gives me a
Rowland S Howard-she cried, Vibe. The lyrics the music. There's no way they didn't take from that song.
+Calm Clam> Howard was 3 years old when Jay & the Americans did "She Cried." The song came out in 1962. Part of the Brill Building inventory. No punk, just ballad and lush strings.
The style reminds me of Love Will Tear Us Apart
I love how people come and comment "that song is from of Jay and The Americans" YOU DONT SAY? Its on porpuse, even the official wikipedia and fan page states the lyrics are from "She Cried". People who come and try to be all " omg they are stealing!" NOPE. they got permission to use the lyrics, even the fans know who the author of the song is, so youre just making a fool of yourself by trying to make them look like the stole something they obviously got permission to use.
there will always be punks who think you stole something, even if you got permission. I mean c'mon, hip hop's foundation is from the sampling
That makes perfect sense, 'cause I don't think that a girl from this days would cry, she would just slap you right in your face, or maybe worst...
man this song does break my heart so deeply
;(
"she slapped me in the face and I still wear the mark to this day"
Still my favorite horror song
Still loving this one, much more after their live.. Beautiful as hell
the guy on 3:15 looks like jonny greenwood from radiohead
killjoyx2100 Joshua Hayward does look like Greenwood right there with his mop top hair straightened. I think his natural hair is more wavy though.
Actually Rowland S Howard's "She Cried" was a cover of "He Cried" by the Shangri-las. Rowland just changed all the "He's" to "She's" And I wouldn't call it a rip-off. it's more of a tribute. Kinda the way Trent Reznor used "You're so vain, I bet you think this song is about you" in Starfuckers Inc.
this is better than joy division
This entire disc is one of the best of 2009. NME was right on when they picked it as tops. Wish the US "alternative" stations would catch on! Go HORRORS!
I hear influences of Joy Division, Nirvana, Jarvis Cocker. Awesome track.
good summary, im massive fan of all of them.
joy division is the fucking best!!!!!!!
Jesus And The Mary Chain. I mean, just look at Faris
Psychedelic furs
This whole comment thread is the reason I love people who love music
And When I told her I didn't luv here anymore, she cried. And when I told her, her kissess were not like b4, she cried. And when I told her another girl caught my eye, She cried. And the I kissed her, with a kiss that could only me goodbye.................... How Poetic!! :-)
fantastik band
They remind me sonic youth "superstar" in a good way for sure :)
The lyrics of this song sound exactly like my ex who I was deeply in love with
He's glad to announce his weakness like it's a strength
The inability to love anyone. Like it's something to be proud of.
When in reality, those sort of people don't deserve any sort of love or attention. Because they spend their life destroying others.
bruh, "Oh how I tried"
He knows he has hurt others, he wanted/hoped to make this one different. animals aren't meant to be monogamist. He tried. He thought he could do it this time. He failed. He's now being honest and upfront with his SO. Sorry you were hurt.
@@yroe12 Thank you! I don't think the "another girl had caught my eye" line implies they're proud of breaking their heart and mean to put it on display. Nor that it means they "live to destroy others". Shit happens and things don't work out. It's just a brutal truth, a truth that puts an instant end to all the possible what if's and maybe's. It's raw, ugly, unpleasant and honest, just like every other breakup. At least it's honest, unlike every other breakup.
They sound more like Wire, Television or The Damned with the same musical talent as Can...maybe you think about Joy Division because of the bass and the Cure because of the look?
No one mentions Nick Cave's cover for Elvis' In the Ghetto :)
Finally he's in something other than all black...
Who can say where the road goes,
Where the day flows, only time?
+Félix Lemay That's life
Jeanne W What?
Je meent het...nooit geweten..HaHa.,.
Wonderful Enya...
Sh!t.. I came here to find this kind of comment😅
I know the band a bit and they are big girl group and 60s pop fans - it's obviously supposed to be a nod to that era with the ronettes drumbeat in the dropdown isnt it
The monologue/spoken part feels a lot like a Jarvis Cocker hand-me-down. But then again, everybody will have their masters.
BilisNegra It is actually a straight rip from "She Cried" by Jay and the Americans.
It reminds me more of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.
Poliana Costa
I can see the connection. Have you ever heard the Jay and the Americans song I mentioned?
:') los amooo ♥
Usted si saber de músic
@TomStraub Actually, that part has the same drumming and a similar guitar to that of Rowland S. Howard's cover "She Cried".
2017. Anyone else?
Geovana Iraheta Seeing them live tomorrow, quite excited
These cats got some funky doos
I'm the only one who loves Joshua's hair in this video? Am I?
sí cuando the ramones empezaba así tenía la voz Joey i mss u Joey God bless you Joey Ramone wherever you are...
Breenda MH The Strokes
Fantastic band and song ❤✌🏻😎
Heard this song again for the first time in many years. Flashbacks of driving around as an angry teenager. Still a powerful song.
this is the best rock band that I have heard since I first heard the Pixies back in the late 80's. Rock and Roll is back - one great band exists
Lets reiterate the 80's..
who care's if it sounds so good, this is not a reiteration as much as it's a reinterpretation of sound
Frank - how about reiterate the time before music existed and shut up
gota love that von grim shuffle :D
Rowland s Howard - she cried
aye
Jay & the Americans is original
All you Horrors, fans like me check out this band called The Deep Transition i found them on facebook, actually really good, Influenced by The Horrors, The Stooges & The Libertines. :) really good band, I know there supporting The Primevals & Carl Barat in London soon , :)
Joy Division?
For people who say its bad production - Its not, thats just how they wanted it. As far as similarities go - Id say the vocals were recorded almost the same style as the strokes "is this it" album
Undercover of Darkness??? :v
nice guess
Puflitoxer El Album Primary Colours salió en 2009

kiero verlos en vivo, insistooooooooo!!!
sigues viv@?
was anybody here a voider on the void??? if u were once part of the john earls brigade come a chat, i miss it!
I've flirted with all genres over the years and would'nt hesitate to place Primary Colours in my all-time top ten albums.Exhilarating stuff! You young'uns should try Mr Clarinet by The Birthday Party, one of the best post-punk tracks EVER.
that bass guitar is the reason cause i start to listen this band !!!
Cool. For some reason the singer comes off as Joey Ramone's illegitimate kid! and that's a good thing!
My ringtone since 2009.
2:33
:') es invevitable escucharla y ponerte melancolico
I hear some Gary Numan influence (as well as many others).
I think Gary Numan and Echo and the Bunnyman had a baby. I also think The Cult and Jesus and Mary Chain and a splash of Joy Division got a little side action. Take this and add a new millennium twist. I dig The Horrors.
who fucking cares if it is a cover? it sounds fucking brilliant and that's what matters really... enjoy music and stop making such a big fuzz about it!
I love the lyrics, fucking mind-blowing haha
@KasperSparrow Nice find! The Horrors really know their music, and have incorporated other references to old Sixties music in other songs. Even "Count In Fives" is a nod to The Count Five!
agree that the video is awful.
when i just got the album I only liked "Mirror's Image" and "Scarlet Fields" but after that i started to like all songs except the two 7-minute ones
@AlexAcrata 'The Horrors' reminded you of Ian Curtis? Same here! How would you describe their sound? 'Joy Division' with a strain of Dave Gahan in places?
I love the Horrors but please tell me someone else watching this knows that the Birthday Party or Sid Vicious's solo stuff made this music......!?!
Pinche canción rompemadres banda :'(
Y aun la rompen
Fuck I revisited this video on its 10th anniversary on being upload in youtube. my fave song since teenhood.
Joy Division mixed with My Bloody Valentine mixed with punk (creative re-modelling) = 50%
The Horrors creativity = 50%
@leedarkcindarella surely it couldn't be joy division? :l
Are they playing in the states anytime this year?
This film was inspired by psychedelia too, check it out
Black Biscuit - Official Trailer
@yayachi59 to make that comment do you love most as The Horrors also love Death Note :3
i honestly dont get the appeal of this band......it's just odd and not in a good way.
Best breakup song ever
I've only found out about them now. First thirty seconds in to the song, I already knew I'd be listening to them my whole life.
