Thank you for making these videos. There are very few presenters out there (for our platform) that can deliver the winning trifecta of articulate/informative instruction, good videography, and mechanical aptitude.
This is a great guide. I'm in the middle of inspecting my C56 and installing a TRD helical diff. This is so much more detailed than a lot of the older guides. And hopefully when I open up my C56, it's in better condition than this.
Thank you for the kind words. It’s important to understand this video is only a guide and should be used in conjunction with the OEM service manual. The next episode will be uploaded tomorrow. Stay tuned. Pls subscribe. Thx again, AJ
Much appreciated. There’s no time like today to start practicing and a manual transmission is a perfect practice part… they r simple and well documented. Also, there are tons of broken ones out there. I bet u can get one for free…. That’s how I got 4 C56s. Thx for watching and commenting. Pls subscribe. -AJ
Yeah, you definitely don't want your balls to fall out. Then you'll have Jesus balls 😂 Seriously though thanks for all the informative content, always subscribed 👍🏼
@@patricedeschilder1321 Sorry, I haven’t edited parts 3 and 4, but as the OEM service manual reads sometimes… assembly is the opposite of disassembly. 😂 All kidding aside, these vids take an enormous amount of effort and time and I honestly don’t know when I will edit parts 3 and 4 based on all my projects. In fact, you are the only one watching these vids. If you follow the OEM service manual it details the process for each shaft assembly very well. Get in there and get dirty. Manual transmissions are much easier than rebuilding an engine. As my dad once told me, don’t be afraid. Good luck. -AJ
Great videos, plenty of detail and very good editing. A question on the the bearing puller you used to remove the input and output shaft bearings. Did you have to modify the feet of the puller to fit under the roller bearings? Or was there enough space between the rollers and the oil diverter? thx
The orange speedometer drive ring is not used on the Spyder. The Spyder uses the ABS sensors to determine vehicle speed, not the transmission. Also, while the 2 tapered bearings on the differential look similar, they are different and not interchangeable (including the races that are pressed into the case), so plan accordingly. It is easy to mix them up (ask me how I know).
You are correct on both statements. However, this diff is used in other vehicles and the orange ring is used by the VSS. BUT AGAIN, u r correct… w the MRS the orange ring is not used. U will see in a future video, I don’t install it when I change the diff bearings. With respect to the diff bearings, I believe i did not say they were the same bc just like u I have mixed em up. When I first installed the diff bearings for an LSD in a C60, I did the same thing. What’s $85ish in diff bearings wasted anyways? 🤣 As my buddy Rob says, it’s only money. Thx for being one of the few ppl to watch this video. -AJ
Thx for the kind words. Ultrasonic cleaners and paint are for peasants 🤣 Stay tuned to find out how I clean transmission cases. Pls subscribe. Thx again, AJ

Great vid, AJ. I hope to one day be as mechanically competent as you!

Jesus clips and Jesus balls…. Trust me, I’ve searched for them in my lab for at least a few hours 🤣
Cristal clear ! Thanks

@@RelentlessRacingAJ I did subscribe. Question: seems you have not done further videos about the C56 Transmission Rebuild. Have you ?

Thank you… striving for a diff kind of video. Pls subscribe. No tools were hurt or modified in this video. Thx AJ

Great explanations. Are you going to clean it all in an ultrasonic cleaner?
