Tough fishing. Sometimes bringing a shrimp gun is the best way to insure fresh sandshrimp, buying them is convenient but spendy and some times hard to find.
Enjoyed the vid... Neat drone footage.. My Son and I are going to try bank fishing, Cheadle Lake, later this week.. any tips on lures... first time there.. We take both casting and spinning..
It depends on what you're fishing for. If you're just looking to just catch some fish then trout are pretty easy to catch in most mountain lakes! North fork reservoir isn't too far from the Portland area and it is heavily stocked with trout. Spinners work well and powerbait on the bottom. I moved here from Texas myself with no boat about three years ago myself so I know what it's like. The best thing you can do is go out and experiment with different spots and different methods. Good luck!
@@OregonReelFishing thank you! I definitely want to try all that Oregon has to offer, I have a car so distance isn’t an issue for me but I want to it all from coast fishing, rivers, lakes, you name it I want to try my hand at them!
Nice! Sounds like a lot of fun, but I've been pretty busy with school lately (which is why I haven't been uploading much) so I doubt I'd be able to make it. I am planning on fishing with some subscribers later in the summer though. Good luck!
I have a deep respect for my dad actually. We're just so close that when we're out fishing he's my friend and I'm not always worried about saying the wrong thing, and he knows I still respect him. I'm sorry more people can't have that same kind of relationship
I hope you guys enjoy this video even though there wasn't much catching. Also sorry the audio messed up at the end
all good still good content in my opinion
Appreciate you 🔥
Rough day. We all have them. Just keep at it. Long introduction are not necessary. The title is fishing not shopping and walking
Boondockin Ron
Harry's closed for good. Retired. Great vid.
Oh ok. Makes sense
What?! Really?
@@joepapa71 Sadly ya...
@@blackbeard68 aww man it is. I would buy my crab rings and tackle for saltwater fishing there... It shall be missed.
@@joepapa71 big time. There is a another place in south beach that is filling the gap. Not a bad selection but it isn't Harry's
Looks like a fun day fishing the coast.

I noticed the wood on the wall by the door. Do you do wood burning?
I love Depot Bay and have eaten a ton of chowder at the Chowder Bowl. Never caught a lot of fish there but still had a great time!
The chowder there is great!
Relax fish a and wait a little longer to set the hook. Cool video!

I would recommend evening just before dark, and you can never go wrong with Texas rigged senkos or a topwater frog
Catch bluegill with weightless night crawlers on Aberdeen hooks, I run 2 lb mono on ultralight and look for them or cast into pools in the weeds
Herrys was closed because he retired and sold the shop I believe
Ace Hardware in Newport for your fishing needs
I've never fished the ocean before but I'm thinking of trying, any suggestions on rod and reel for our coast?
7 ' or 8' salmon/steelhead rod and a fairly good reel is all you need, nothing extravagant.
@@kdlev4903 can I use a 6’6 medium action bass rod?
Looks like a anchovy
i dont even know how many times he called his dad bro if i called my dad that he would ground me cmon dude just stop
Just moved to Portland from West Texas, do you have any recommendations for where to fish for someone with no boat and brand new to Oregon?

You call your dad bro?
Yeah I don't know why we've always had that type of relationship. He's pretty chill 😂
Where exactly is 'Ukleenahay' (your second location). I'm not sure what the spelling is.
It's called yaquina bay and it's in Newport
Smellt
Calling your dad dude.... I would have slapped you into the drink if you were my son!!!
