Schuco restoration BMW Turbo 1972 prototype. Diecast model toy.

The Schuco toy company produced the BMW Turbo model in 1972. The model was created in two versions: one for self-assembly and the other, already assembled, ready to play. The scale of this model is 1: 43. The model was two-colored - red and orange. In the video, you can turn on subtitles in your language with a commentary on the action. Schuco made this toy with great care. All the moving parts were open. It contained a very well copied engine and interior equipment. My model had no wheels. I made wheels from polyurethane resin, based on wheels from another model of the same company. I also completed the exhaust pipe and made a new painting, according to the original one. I also show in the video how to pack this BMW. The self-assembly models were packed in cardboard boxes, showing all the parts, and had instructions for self-assembly. Ready-to-play models were sold in transparent plastic boxes. I made my version of the packaging based on the graphics from the cardboard model for folding. Ein seltenes BMW-Modell. So wie dieser Wagen aussieht hat er die Restaurierung dringend nötig und das Ergebnis überzeugt. Entstanden ist ein tolles Schmuckstück.

Wspaniały samochód. Miałam szczęście raz zobaczyć jednego, gdy wyprzedził mnie na autostradzie 👀.
Praca pierwsza klasa Paweł, model znów jest jak nowy (a nawet lepszy 🤩) Schucos był marzeniem nas facetów (i dziewczyn... pozdro dla mojej siostry 😆). Doskonale dopracowane, ale i drogie....

Piekny model! Bardoz podobny jest model BMW M1 G4. mam taki model RC firmy Gama Tronic. Jest niesamowicie wykonany, ma kierunkowskazy gdy skrecasz kolami, oraz otweirane z przodu swiatla osobnym przycikiem. Zabawki RC z lat 80-tych byly genialne i naprawde swietnie wykonane. Twoja renowacja jak zwykle tez jest swietna, zreszta jak zawsze ;)

So that's where the M1 originated. One of the best sounding cars ever , I remember them running in the World Champioship of makes in the late 1990s. Like the proverbial ripping calico they had the most addictive exhaust note from that straight six engine.

Przepiękny model... Zresztą Schuco zawsze trzymało wysoki poziom. To samo BMW Turbo ale z Majorette było gorzej opracowane, nawet uwzględniając inne skale. Serdecznie pozdrawiam.

Hallo Paul, das ist eine wirklich tolle Restauration. Ich kannte das Modell gar nicht (ist ja auch ein Proto-Typ, haha). Wieder was dazugelernt. Die Radkappen hätte ich aber vor dem Zusammenbau chromfarbig lackiert. Das wäre einfacher. Falls beim reindrücken Abdrücke auftreten, kann man ja nochmal nacharbeiten. Was mich immer wieder beeindruckt, ist die Gestaltung und Ausführung der Faltschachteln. Super genial.

Dearest Paul, always good. For me you are truly a dive into pleasure! I wanted to tell you that those wheels are from Norev (ref 854) and not Schuco. Since you have cloned them entirely, to obtain more realistic circles, you can turn them over, that is, put the starry part inside and file it a little. The rim will look more like the original Schuco one. I did it many years ago with the Stratos Norev which had the same wheels.

Thank you very much Rodrigo. Of course I use an adhesive, it's ambersil formula 5. My axle end welding machine is mine. it works on the principle of a welding machine, it is a 12 V 200 W transformer and a time switch. Kind regards

Essa miniatura é bem comum aqui no Brasil, foi fabricada sob licença pela Miniaturas Rei, da Zona Franca de Manaus. Parece que a empresa negociou um lote de ferramental usado da Schuco, de vários modelos, e a licença para produção. Eram minis muito comuns nos anos 70 e 80, infelizmente inflacionaram muito com essa onda retrô, e apesar de ser relativamente fácil de achar, o preço é bem caro. Um grande abraço Paul.

Norev avait repris un temps l'outillage pour réaliser ce modèle, mais malheureusement l'avait équipée de roues "boutons de culotte" comme on les appelait à l'époque !!
Résultat un modèle moins attractif
Le plancher était gravé Norev
J'ai les deux modèles, c'est le seul échange d'outillage entre les deux fabricants
Il n'y a pas eu de suite ??? 🥺
