The window here is already recessed. Looking to build this on a flat wall. It’s for my tiny dog to see out the window when we’re gone.

If you’re using pine and painting it why would you not finish the edges properly instead of sticking ugly melamine to them.

So this is an older home and it appears that instead of restoring the beautiful hardwood, you covered it with cheap crap laminate. 🤬
