Awesome book that gives you step-by-step photos th-cam.com/users/postUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt and directions to make every day project. I can see myself making a few of these projects and giving them as housewarming and holiday gifts!
It’s not possible for you to post too many bench building videos. Keep ‘em coming. It’s always helpful to see your process. This one turned out beautifully.
This took a little bit to get used to th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfzbDkCRyv3CFXnLZI4APZtRRuG2uRmP2 but once I got the hang of it this has been an awesome tool. The slow start and the adjustable speeds are just what I needed to control the cutting and polishing I needed to do. Adjusting the side handle from left-to-right helped in a few spots. the top bar was basically useless, as it failed to keep it's seat under pressure. This tool is a little heavy, though. I am a big guy and not in the best of shape, but could still muscle this thing around my boat in this summer's heat. This thing is worth it's weight in gold given the shine I was able to bring back to my heavily oxidized boat. If you need it, buy it, you won't regret it.
Jason, I might live in a country where the average monthly salary is around 500$, we don't have forests so wood is twice as expensive and thanks to the 27% VAT, even tools cost more, but your presentation and enthusiasm lets me forget all of it and inspires me to keep going.
Poland ...feel your pain Average person earn 600$ per month Renting 30m2 cost 400-600$ Food 150$ Phone etc 30$ Other bills like water etc 100$ So its impossible to live alone If u want a house ..oh man... Prices are the same if u already have one so u will pay taxes etc for it like for renting 30m2 And i dont even add to that wood etc for heating (around 1200$ per year for 100-150m2 house or if u have heat pump around 600$) Fuel is like 2$ so u spend like 100$++ per month to drive to work And what u left with ? Nothing? Average dewalt tool because of taxes and transport Drill with battery is like 350$ Plywood is like 80$ sheet ... Yes 80$ with your 600$ monthly sallary (lets say u are good welder.... U will earn around 1200$ (good welder in good job) U will spend 500$ house 100$ bills like water electricity , 20$ phone 100$ fuel , food 150$ and ad to your year budget 200$ per month for heating the house Car repair Other taxes And u left with 100$ Per month If u are good welder that works 12h 5 days per week Renting / building a workshop is like 200$ / 30000$ Tools cheap ones 300$ cheapest ones 100$ Do i need to ad festool to the list 😅 Overall we can stay positive only because of vids/tutorials like this So keep them comming 😁
"so much of a mess and you have to clean everything up..." I think that describes everything that you do, but the finished product(s) are certainly worth it! Good job!
You can use that trick when installing baseboard between two walls, only you don't need the the piece of wood, it'll just snap tightly into place. Of course the baseboard has to be long enough to be able to bow slightly.
That Emerald Urethane Enamel is fantastic stuff. It self levels very nicely. So, if you don't have a sprayer, rolling it still looks great. Just don't overwork it.
A tip on painting, always start with the edges, and hard to reach places, then the faces. By doing this you avoid over spray, and bad finish on the face.
Nobody else going to comment about sweeping in my socks song!? Love the woodworking and that’s why I’m here but man I got the content I needed with the song❤
I am glad I subscribed to your channel a couple of months ago. You get my Sunday off to a good start because you are silly and make me laugh just about every episode. Thanks.
I have to point this out: I recognize a gorgeous Aussie when I see one! I hadn’t finished the video till tonight and I spotted that absolutely, unmistakable, beautiful coloring, pattern and her thick, luscious coat… reminds me of mine with that face of concern… Had to point her out, mine is a mini only not so mini and she has the traditional tri coloration too only black, white and tan with fun polka dots on her legs and belly. You can kind of see her in my profile pic
Super nice. Yes Blum needs to get it figured out PRONTO. My supplier hinted that things should be getting much better in the next few months. FINGERS CROSSED. Shaker door/drawer frames are timeless, as well as white oak. Great combo its pretty hot here too on the west coast. (No idea where you are)
Sweeping in my socks, catchy tune, I bit hard to dance to though Dick I give it a 90 lol. Seriously the old unit looks like a pre built unit laid on its side and tacked into place. You always rock everything. This is so impressive. I love it. Come on pocket holes are better than sanding. We know you love sanding.
Wow. For a few seconds, I thought this was the bench you built last year. I had to go back and rewatch. OK. I approve of the new one. Funny that you mentioned the other bench at the end.
If you want the bench top to look absolutely perfect against a textured wall you can get color matched caulk and run the smallest bead along the edges. Then wipe all excess off leaving it perfectly level with the bench. It looks so crisp and no one will ever be able to tell that its there but it just makes a good scribe look 10x better.
It must be an incredible joy to have all the right tools; Here in Ontario Canada to afford a house plus a beautiful work shop 😑 good luck..... Nice craftsmanship 👌🏾
I love your sense of humor... Great improv song, "Sweepin' in My Socks." AWESOME!!!!!!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏. And thanks for the video, I'm going to be building something similar at my house in what's going to be my kids' study room.
I've been watching this channel for like 4 hours straight now. Totally just blew off my current project for the day. "Sweeping in my socks" just did it for me... THANK YOU for the detailed vids and comic relief. I'm now subscribed. Keep up the great content.
The sweeping in my socks scene was very Julien Smith esque. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Was definitely waiting for it to tuen into a bombas add though. Pleasantly surprised it was just inspired genius
Try swapping that drill out for an impact the next time you're drilling pocket holes, the impact is noticeably faster and easier. Not sure why drills are still around, they're just crappier slower versions of impacts lol. Drilling through metal? Throw a step bit in an impact, so fast and easy it's like magic
Playing cards as spacers is genius and the black with the Rubio mud looks great. Making a template for the top is totally worth the effort. Having not done it a couple of times, and then having to screw around trying to make the top look like it actually fit ends up costing you a lot of frustrating work. Nice job, good advice.
I really like the way you do your videos. All the information and explanations and reasons why, just great. I like that you show your work, and that I can see you do pretty much all the steps. The way you do it and your narration, makes it informative but also entertaining. I appreciate the way you go about teaching, I feel like I am learning and will be able to apply the learnt knowledge towards projects not necessarily the same as what you showed. Maybe after watching a few hundred more videos of yours and I will change my renovation budget into a power tool budget to try my hand. 😂😅🤞
Your double clamping of the pocket holes is crucial. Most times I see people concentrating on keeping them flat, but if they’re not tight together, the angle of the screw will still pull them out of coplanar.
Brooooo, your the freakin man! I’ve learned so much from you. Getting ready to build a bench for a client, will be almost the exact bench but with some book shelves on top of each end of the seat! Thank you 🙏
Beautiful bench build. I'm actually thinking of doing something similar soon but the sides of the window are open so I want to put bookshelves up both sides. Make a comfortable little reading nook. Or napping spot.
Where I live a layer of Celotex (PIR) foam insulation on the wall helps to avoid black mould growing in the cold unventilated space behind the cabinet. You lose an inch of interior depth but its not really noticeable.
First time on the channel, I'm interested in all the home DIY projects and creating things. I came because the project looked interesting, i stayed and subscribed because you explained what you were doing well and were super funny. Loved all the humor mixed in man, keep it up!
Amazing skills, my man. I've been looking for a tutorial for a DIY bench just like this but this is definitely not DIY, at least not at my DIY level. haha you're a professional with all those tools. Keep these videos coming - very information. Thank you!
U can always mock something up with ikea upper 15x 30 cabinet frames, 30 inch base cabinet drawers and 2 by 4 reinforcements for the seating. I went to ikea a few times and found all the stuff in the as is section, 80$ drawer fronts will sell for 5-10$ there. Takes a few visits to get all the parts u need but u can cut the counter prices down to like 25% this way
the bench I beautiful. I used the scribing tip I saw on your tips and tricks with some shelves in my pantry and it worked perfect. As for the contest, I invited you here to show the haters that it's not the equipment on your river table video. And to "sweeten" the deal, I'm in Kentucky - known for 2 things. horse racing and bourbon whiskey!!!
Wanted you to know that you provide me and my family with a lot of enjoyment as well as ideas, tips, and tricks to make our home more beautiful. Keep on keeping on.
Had to buy identical undermounting drawer slides from Amazon for the same reason. Boy, are they heavy! I am still putting face frames on my three units, so the slides will be next. Hope they go in easy!
Beautifully done! Thanks for the inspiration. I'm kicking myself for not using MDF on my last project! I wonder why not use MDF for all of the front piece that ends up painted?
*_Sweeping In My Sox_* is the official summer jam of 2022
Platinum single for sure 😂 should be on a shirt soon
Huge tune!!! *Airhorn Noises*. Wamp Waaamp WAAAAAMPPP!!!
The only thing missing is more cowbell.
It will be available on epidemic sound soon
Im watching this first thing in the morning.... will be singing it all day 🤣🤣

That scrap piece in the middle when installing the top just blew my brains. Looks beautiful. Love the black pain finish.
It’s not possible for you to post too many bench building videos. Keep ‘em coming. It’s always helpful to see your process. This one turned out beautifully.
Especially with hit songs.

@@ErtsenPlayGames if you are lucky you live near the (German) border and get your tools there?

Wow!! That trick on adding the top was life changing 😳😂 you’re the man!👍

Best woodworking music video of all time.
A tip on painting, always start with the edges, and hard to reach places, then the faces. By doing this you avoid over spray, and bad finish on the face.
Same method when brushing. Do the edges and mouldings (if there are any) before doing the easy flat faces.
Was going to mention this as well
I love it when he uses words like thingy ma bob or thingy ma whatsit. My family and I use them often so it kind of feels like he's part of the family
always love the funny humour that takes the seriousness out of hard work sweeping in the socks ill try that
Humorous and instructional videos, always get happy when I get a notification you've uploaded a new video..YAY!! 🤗🙌👍
Nobody else going to comment about sweeping in my socks song!? Love the woodworking and that’s why I’m here but man I got the content I needed with the song❤
I thought I just signed up for entertaining woodworking content and was totally unprepared for the dropping of mad beats. The bar has been raised.
Richelieu concealed with built in soft close. I just went through that issue these have done well so far
When you said you’d like to build things just to destroy them 2:55 I just went back to your awesome river table build.😂😂
Hey Jason, I'm watching this video in my socks... LOL... Awesome job, what a transformation and upgrade to your house!
Jason, I really love your videos. I learn a lot of thing from you while laughing my @ss off!
Thank you for you’re content!
Hysterical!!!!! Sweeping in my socks!!
"Sweeping in my socks"... Nice jam and great work on the bench.
Thank you for all your explanation. Even if this is over the top of my abilities I enjoy watching videos on wood working. Your bench is beautiful.
I am glad I subscribed to your channel a couple of months ago. You get my Sunday off to a good start because you are silly and make me laugh just about every episode. Thanks.
Was not thrilled by the thumbnail but the result is pretty darn cool! Fresh and clean....

Man, SUNDAY sponsors all the best content. 😆
“Sweeping in my socks” sounds like a Bside from The Flight of the Conchords. I love it.

The song is the surprise hit of Spring!
It's so odd what we like/dislike as woodworkers. I enjoy sanding and spraying paint. The project turned out well brother👍
Only woodpeckers I have are the ones that put holes in my trees.
As much as I enjoy the building process, sanding and finishing are my favorite
That's so great to see. Always great to be able to restore something that was thought to be lost.
Love your rhodies... one of the things we miss about living over there.
Love the diy with a full woodworking setup. Im sure we all have that in our garage.
Wow. For a few seconds, I thought this was the bench you built last year. I had to go back and rewatch. OK. I approve of the new one. Funny that you mentioned the other bench at the end.
I'm Sweeping in My Socks is my favorite book in the Green Eggs and Bourbon book series.
Dude, I'm superfan of woodworking and your funny as hell!!!
You have amazing sense of humor

LMBO! Oh mylanta! Sweeping in my socks is amazing!
Have to build one of these for a bay window. Will use the tips from here. Will have hinged bench top for internal storage rather than drawers.
I think I'll use the hinged top for mine too.
I love your sense of humor... Great improv song, "Sweepin' in My Socks." AWESOME!!!!!!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏. And thanks for the video, I'm going to be building something similar at my house in what's going to be my kids' study room.

unbelievable work... you are the most amazing & fun carpenter ever :) ... CONGRATULATIONS... glad to know that Craig is still with you :)
WOOOOW... "swipin' in my socks " was AMAZIN', (for FOX sakes) get it...
One of the few TH-cam channels I laugh out loud to. Great work Bourbon Moth Woodworking!
That sweeping action was 🔥

Great job and video. Sweeping in my socks was great too, for a joke song it turned out awsome. Thanks for making and sharing.
Full scale The Mighty Boosh vibes from 3.20 - 4.20. Howard moon and Vince would be proud
I feel ya on the Blum slides. I have about 6 projects delayed because of it.
Blum & Hettich = ❤
Greetings from a german carpenter
bruh... you are so weird. I love it! keep being you dude! By far my favorite woodworking channel
Bench looks great. I wish you had done this video before I made the bench for my breakfast nook.
You had me at “mobile bar cart”!
First time on the channel, I'm interested in all the home DIY projects and creating things. I came because the project looked interesting, i stayed and subscribed because you explained what you were doing well and were super funny. Loved all the humor mixed in man, keep it up!

Sweeping in my socks got me to hit the like and share 😊

That music video is so good we need full version of it!🤣
Sweeping in my socks was absolute fire.
Now you need to make the “Sweeping in My Sox” official music video. That scene was awesome.
bellissimo lavoro come sempre
I don't give many likes to YT vids but damn. That "Sweepin' In My Sox" is a banger! Well done sir
Once again... fantastic work👍🏻
Sweeping in my socks could be a HUGE hit! You should definitely release it as a single 😎
Nice job Pal, classy addition to your home. 👍
Nice build, is it just me that had faithless ' I can't get no sleep ' playing in my head to I swept in my socks 😂🧦🎶
29:07 maan, that last push is just satifaction af.
You’re my new favorite maker! Love you projects and videos!
Coffee????? I was thinking a glass of single malt is the best way to christen that window bench. Way to go, Hibbs!
Wanted you to know that you provide me and my family with a lot of enjoyment as well as ideas, tips, and tricks to make our home more beautiful. Keep on keeping on.
“Sometimes a man needs to sweep in his socks” hahaha love it!
What a beautiful piece of work ! Enjoyed the film and your narrative! Have a great weekend buddy.
I thought I was the only one who spent multiple years on a single project, I’ve been working on a display project for 4 years now 😳😂
Had to buy identical undermounting drawer slides from Amazon for the same reason. Boy, are they heavy! I am still putting face frames on my three units, so the slides will be next. Hope they go in easy!
Great job Jason! Looks mighty fine.
Gorgeous. Well done sir.
I just want you to know - the pocket-hole drilling face is what made me subscribe. Cheers, mate!🤣
"The Sweeping in my socks" will be in my brain for a couple of days, maybe weeks
Great video homie 👊
Wow, really, really nice. Great job.
If woodworking doesn't work out, you can always fall back on music. Sweeping in my socks is a banger!
Sweeping in my socks is gonna get stuck in my head now. Thanks
As always good job sir. Thanks for sharing. God bless you.
Beautifully done! Thanks for the inspiration. I'm kicking myself for not using MDF on my last project! I wonder why not use MDF for all of the front piece that ends up painted?
