I like the new ordering, it lets you talk about how it tastes and why it exists in the same minute, which is an enhancement, and it saves you the trouble of reminding people that you've got the timestamp marked so they don't need to complain about "10 minutes of history this time" on a 6-minute video.
Thanks for always putting the recipe in the description. I usually watch the vids I like more than once but its handy to have a quick reference while hosting. Thanks for all of the great content and ideas.
In Chicago, they do give you a bottle of Malort. And a pack of cigarettes. You'll love Lost Lake. Drinks on point and some of the best drink garnishes ever.
You know it’s going to be a good day when you have a cocktail with pineapple and a cute little blue umbrella. I will give The Lost Lake a try tonight. Thanks for the video.
What about a little heads-up before this epic Chicago trip? Perhaps a meet and greet? *nudge nudge* That way the mid westerners such as myself can maybe get the chance to be in the presence of the great Leandro without having to travel all the way to Cali?!
Yumminess!!!!! And History talk should go back to how you were doing it, not at the end. Just a thought. I still enjoy watching your channel. I like it when you talk about the drink while making it.
I bought some Passionfruit syrup like 6 weeks ago with the express purpose of making this drink.... and I completely forgot about it lol. Guess I'll mix one up tonight.
Thought of a drink for your trip-the "Concrete Jungle Bird": 2oz (60ml) Dark Jamaican Rum .75oz (22.5ml) Malort 2oz (60ml) Pineapple Juice .5oz (15m) Lime Juice .5oz (15ml) Simple Syrup Pineapple Frond Garnish
This drink looks amazing. You should try to spin the umbrella between your fingers, almost making a finger snapping motion and centrifugal motion will partially open it
You know I love you guys but I have to agree with Flarm2vids down below-I personally LOVE the history portion of your vids and I feel like this “new order” can lead to digression. At about 3:58 you say something like “you’re gonna say this is just a riff on a Jungle Bird and you’re not wrong.” Then you say it’s actually a riff on a Riviera cocktail from Tony Maloney-sorry if I got that man’s name wrong-but then that’s the last you said about it! I was hoping to hear what the Riviera cocktail is, how it compares to the Jungle Bird, and how the Lost Lake compares to these two-admittedly because the JB is one of my all-time favorite, go-to tiki drinks. Anyway, all we heard after the comment on the Riviera was about going to Chicago and Malort. Now I love your channel above ALL OTHERS so I hope I don’t come off as a grumpy ass old “Get Off My Lawn!” retired Marine. I’ll keep watching you guys no matter how you change up! (You know the USMC motto-Semper Fidelis means ALWAYS FAITHFUL!) Just my .02 cents here-or perhaps .09 cents. I think I wrote way too much. Thanks for all the wonderful work you guys do and I now have to go get some Luxardo liqueur so I can make this drink!! (And look up what a Riviera is!) 😂❤️👍
Agree 100%. There are a lot of cocktail channels on TH-cam, and I think what sets Educated Barfly apart are the history and the tasting notes. Both suffer a bit here from the new format, I think.
Now that I know you Can be coerced into making the drink first and Then give the history, I’m more comfortable now to visit you. JK. I kind of liked the history part first. The history lesson is like the trailer to the main event! (..but if I’m sitting at the bar and I gotta listen to you yip yap and flip flap the gums before each drink... idk man.. I just don’t know.. 💪🏽😆)
Prefer the history first personally. Also feels like there was less history on this one and Im not sure if thats because of history going after the cocktail or not. Still a great video and the cocktail looks great
HOW did you know I had all those ingredients in my kitchen?! I'm gonna make it tonight. It's gonna be Aperol and Plantation Original Dark for me, though.
You must be new. Marius is Leandro's production partner. He does all the camera and audio work and edits and uploads the videos, and much more. He's the one that gives us little hearts in our comments. You spelled it right.
This drink looks amazing. You should try to spin the umbrella between your fingers, almost making a finger snapping motion and centrifugal motion will partially open it
“Knowing a thing or two about a thing or two” now that sounds like a Tarantino line if ever I’ve heard one
Or a State Farm Commercial.
YOU are the MAN! You've inspired me to start my own bartending channel, watch me make great craft drinks for you guys!

"Aerating the old pineapple." I've never heard it called that before ;-)
Terrible! :p
In Chicago, they do give you a bottle of Malort. And a pack of cigarettes. You'll love Lost Lake. Drinks on point and some of the best drink garnishes ever.
Tasting notes: Auogh, that is fantastic!
That's all the tasting notes one need to know!
Love this format!! Seeing the cocktail then figuring out if its something i want to hear more about!!
The cocktail looks great. Skål is definitely right. Good to see the ol' bottle of Malort come out.
You know it’s going to be a good day when you have a cocktail with pineapple and a cute little blue umbrella. I will give The Lost Lake a try tonight. Thanks for the video.

That looks and sounds amazing
Like the new layout of the video, keep it up!
History is the warm up, straight into the recipe doesnt hit the same.
In an all day meeting right now from home.....very tempted to make one of these right now...Looks amazing! Great Garnish.
I like the history of the drink no matter when you have it in the video.
I love when I have all the ingredients on hand. But no orchid or umbrella. :( Tastes great. Thanks.
PS. Always love pounding on the Lewis bag. LOL
Thanks for the cool video Leandro!!! I'm loving the Tiki drinks!!!🤙Can't wait to visit all the Tiki bars after this pandemic is over.
I like making it first then talking about it too. It feels like you are chatting with us over a drink then.
Another outstanding video!
I liked that you did the recipe first and the history afterward.
New subscriber but can tell I'm already gonna like these videos. Superb garnishing and knowledge is fun as well.
Oooh! I'll definitely put this on the list to make. Maraschino and Campari is an interesting combination.
Can confirm, there’s a bottle of Malort waiting for every person who flies into Chicago. But only at O’Hare. You get nothing at that dump Midway.
#malörtoclock every night at 9pm since March!
Yumminess!!!!! And History talk should go back to how you were doing it, not at the end. Just a thought. I still enjoy watching your channel. I like it when you talk about the drink while making it.

Skål works in Swedish as well, fittingly.
You should totally do a book tour, what is your top pick for a beginner? Love the channel!
I don’t think they’ll give you Malört at the airport but Bunny @CHDistillery will!
,Skol! (They like to yell it in Denmark)

You finally brought me over to the “dark side” of Tiki drinks and now it’s getting cold where I am. Ugggh, time for cold weather cocktails.
Tasting notes: "Oh that is fantastic"
Thought of a drink for your trip-the "Concrete Jungle Bird":
2oz (60ml) Dark Jamaican Rum
.75oz (22.5ml) Malort
2oz (60ml) Pineapple Juice
.5oz (15m) Lime Juice
.5oz (15ml) Simple Syrup
Pineapple Frond Garnish
I love the name.
Let’s try it!
This drink looks amazing.
You should try to spin the umbrella between your fingers, almost making a finger snapping motion and centrifugal motion will partially open it
I thought it was TH-cam policy that if you mention your pet, you have to give it screen time. Pretty sure I read that somewhere. 🥃 🐈
Salud🍻from mexico
wow
Nice. A bit Tiki for Chicago, isn't it?
It's "Maraskino", not "Marashino", but, that said, love the recipe. Dialling down the Campari is always a good idea.
Please pardon the accent.
Pineapple season almost over. Gotta squeeze this one in
Great video feat: Lily the dog and some sexy pineapples
Don't mind me, here to support the algorithm :)
Tiki cocktails in tall almost pilsner lookin glasses de be lookin extra fine tho
HOLY SHIT HE TOOK A SHOT OF MALORT!😂😂😂
I personally prefer the "history first"
Tiki 😍❤️

Have a Chicago style deep dish pizza while you're there.
This cocktails looks like it’s gonna be a new favorite, how much is a scouch?

Looks like the beer
Where did you get the allspice bracelet?
Allspice bracelet? 😂 it’s Tiger’s Eye 👁 totes looks like allspice though!
@@TheEducatedBarfly Lol, I'm making pimento dram right now and it was on my mind. Couldn't resist.
You know a cocktail is bad when you’ve got to chase it with Malort... /s
Nice :)
Prefer the history first personally. Also feels like there was less history on this one and Im not sure if thats because of history going after the cocktail or not. Still a great video and the cocktail looks great
Clearly someone does not use those drink umbrellas. Ever.
I knew the purpose of the tiny rubber band on those since I was a little kid.
MALORT. that is all.
Plot twist: we never see Marius because he's also a pitbull like Lily.
Skål!

Stop by Three Dots and Dash while you're in Chicago
who is "marius"? forgive my spelling :(

Hey man, I think it's kinda anti climatic with the history after the cocktail :(
Good video though
Agreed. This is gonna kill engagement time. 😕
First
This drink looks amazing.
