An artist’s heaven 😂
Teoh, I'm from Waterford, Ireland. About 75,000 population. We don't have ONE dedicated art store. 3 or 4 shops have a section where most of the supplies are not even student grade, absolute garbage. I nearly fell over when I saw the Derwent display 😳 Ironically, it's a town very close to where I live, very short plane ride to reach it, yet you have a huge variety of products available to you all the way over in Singapore. Derwent is a river BTW. Thanks for the tour 👏
Yeah, to find dedicated art shops in Ireland you have to go to the cities, or order online (which I do more often than my wallet would like it to xD ).
I follow you from the begging of your channel, and something I really admire from you Teoh, and your people as well, is the amount of modesty and humbleness you have as individuals. Your videos are focused, informative, and really show passion for artistic interests. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
I’ve been filming art store tours in Melbourne Australia. If ever I get to visit Singapore, I’m definitely adding Art Friend to my list! Looks awesome…especially all of the papers. ❤
A sweet shop for artists! I could stay in that store for hours if not days!! Nicely done 👍🤓
What a great store, thanks for the tour, Teoh!
😊🙏 This brought back so many fond memories of our schooling times ... Stationary stores have these inspiring smells from their various products that reminded us about our incoming Art Projects! Used to frequented bookstores or stationary stores like Popular Bookstores , MPH , Kinokuniya , Borders & one particular stationary stores always team-up with CD Rama music shoplets in many MRT Stations back in 1990s & early 2000s ... Was it Art Friend?! OMG , forgotten about that once popular stationary stores! Thank You So Much for sharing! 😊🙏🌷🌿🌍✌💜🕊🇸🇬🇲🇾🇦🇺
Wow! What a great selection! You’re very fortunate to have such variety and well-stocked stores. Our one local art supply store has bare shelves and a sad selection. Amazon it is. Thanks for the tour!
Thanks Teoh. I could stay in that store for hours! Great inventory.
What fun. Thank you. I live in a town with no big Art Supply store except Michael's. What a treat to see Art Friend.
This was really interesting to watch 😊 you did really well only walking out with the pens, I would not have been able to haha 😂
Same! 😂
art stores are heaven! I enjoyed your tour. Thank you.
Favorite part of the entire video - "it looks like.... glittery foam? Not sure what that is for..." hehe. So cute :)
Hii! I found you yesterday and it took me one second to subscribe lol. Anyway I hope you are doing well and have a good day!
I used to go there a lot when I lived in Singapore. Used to go to Gong Cha just next to that Art Friend.
All this eye candy. Got to watch! Thanks for posting.
Always love the art store tours!! Thank you!! ❤️
Tiffany would love to decorate your apartment with all sorts of crafts made from that glittery fun foam!! You use it like felt for crafts.
Thanks for the tour Teoh. Fun!
Thank you for taking us shopping with you!
What a dream place!! I wouldn’t know where to begin with! ❤
Great videos as usual I love your videos. This one was like Aladdin’s cave so tempting. Thank you for the info on the watercolour papers. My sister lived in Singapore from 1965 to 1980 her husband worked there. I was a teenager and used to visit and I loved Singapore. Orchard Road was really leafy in the 60s/70s. No big shopping malls. Then there was the huge store CK Tang? I have great memories. I’m Australian. Thank you, Kathy.😊
There is also krafters paradise at Sim Lim, they have the full range of Raphael brushes! Also Drawing etc art supplies! Their range of Micheal Harding colours and rosemary brushes are awesome!
Always fun to be out and about in Singapore! Love seeing the art supplies.
Great video! Love art stores!! Thank you.
Thanks for the stealth mode filming! What a huge art store. Love your red sneakers Teoh!
Used to go to bras basah one. Its good that they expanded. Besides Artfriend, another fav art store is Overjoyed
One more reason to visit Singapore!! Thank you for showing us that store, and feel free to visit often 😄
Thank you for taking us on a tour. My younger brother can speak Chinese.
Very nice store .Have not been to Singapore for many years.I was lucky to live here in the early 1980's while serving with 1 RNZIR,at Dieppe Barracks.
Look at the size of the place. 😵💫 I could get lost in there for a couple of days.
Now that I've seen the art store with you I am ready to relocate to Singapore! Beautiful store. Thank you for taking us ❤️
I enjoyed the tour. I doubt I will ever get to Singapore, but it is interesting to see other cities in other countries. One can learn a lot by seeing how other people live, dress, eat, and interact with one another. Always interesting to see. I do have one question for you, ‘Are you planning on attending the symposium in New Zealand? I’ll never get there either, but the videos and the sketches will tell me a lot about the country. Looking forward to your next video. -OkieSketcher1949
I'll be covering the USk Symposium in New Zealand as the official video correspondent. Follow the main Urban Sketchers TH-cam channel because the videos will be posted there.
@@teohyc Is that www.youtube.com/@URBANSKETCHERSOFFICIAL/videos ?
@@PaulaBean Yes that's the one
Looks like a paradise 😍
Oh, I really enjoyed that. I don't live close to a large art supply store, so this was such a treat. Thank you. 🙂
Great store , so many supplies for watercolor ❤
Thanks a lot for the tour!
Wow!, prices are pretty good! Here in the States, sure beats our Hobby Lobby
I sketch and watercolor in the Hahnemuhle Nostalie sketchbooks right now. The paper is smooth and nice for fountain pen, fine liners, and colored pencil as well. For some reason they are easier to find right now than Moleskine watercolor books which I've always like.
This is my best art&craft supply on peninsular!
Wow , just wow 😮❤!
Thank you for taking us along!
From what I've seen via Aliexpress, the Potentate stuff in the tins are postcard blanks.
Wow wow wow how lucky you are to have such choices. I have NO choices here in the UK and have to order on line. Enjoy your shopping trips!
Ah that's so fun! I wish there were many dedicated art stores here in Indonesia, I'd be so happy 😭
You put back a marker in the wrong place! Twice! How dare you! 😱
very cool. i hope your finances are in order. watching an artist in an art supplis store makes my wallet nervous
Didn't know this. Now I got more reasons to go Plaza Singapura
Thanks for the trip!❤
my desire to buy more art supplies after watching this is sky high rn.
You have lots of brands there that I've never seen before. Looks like a great store. Here in New Zealand I've found some Winsor and Newton branded sketchbooks with 100% cotton paper at a really reasonable price compared to the other 100% cotton sketchbooks available here. They're made in Malaysia but I can't find them mentioned anywhere on Winsor and Newtons website so I wonder if it's just something they're trying out down here? You can buy them online slightly cheaper but if you're interested in having a look while you're down here for the Sketcher's symposium you should be able to find some in the Warehouse Stationery shops. I'm fairly new to sketching so don't have much experience with different brands but these are my favorite books from what I've tried so far.
Hi Teoh.. can't chat gotta go to the art store, bye'eeee 🚴🚴🚴🚴
You CAN refill those “disposable” Pigma Micron pens if the nib is still good when they’re empty… just pull the nib with tweezers and drip some Bombay/Indian ink in with a syringe… cheap and waterproof! But I agree, fountain pens are better anyways 🤗 I bought some myself after watching you use them a couple years ago 🤗🤗🤗
Oh wow! I could spend a lot of $ there on things I don't really need. So many things! I live near two Cheap Joes in the US, and they are much smaller. I still have to buy some things online - mostly sketchbooks.
Amazing demand this store proposes!
always interesting to see other stores in other countries. in my town/country art-stores are mostly much much smaller and have only a few, mostly local brands - so we "have to" order online to get others 😞
I was surprised that all the signs in the store were written in English.
⭐As always I enjoyed your video! You are so authentic and nice apart from being a great artist. The video was very informative; also it was very interesting to see the prices of the different art products . Would love to visit Singapore and that store for sure :)⭐
I think the company that put the sheets in the green tin was inspired by Hahnemuhle.
So jealous 😮😮
I've tried Inktense (both the blocks and the pencils) but I find them a bit chalky. For watercolor pencil, I prefer Caran d'Ache 'Museum'.
The outlet at Bras Basah Complex feels larger 🤨
Nice!
Hi Teoh 👋
Hello😄
Thank you for a walk!))
So fun
🙌
Iif I had gone in there for a few pens I would have spent way too many hours looking around and coming out with everything except the pens I came for LOL
I SWEAR TO GOD I STARTED DROOLING 😂😂😂
Arches is nowadays rivalled by Fabriano and Baohong.
The prices look expensive to me, but that's probably because most of the supplies (at least from what you showed) were imported. I'm curious about the paper in tins you found.... :-)
Seriously????Wowsa! That would be a very dangerous place for me!
the one at Clementi is actually the largest. =) FYI
My friend visiting my friend😂
Do they sell Prismacolor pencils at Art Friend?
I think so if I remember correctly
What's the difference between hot pressed and cold pressed paper? Maybe you explained it in another video: if you did, could you please give me the link?
Maybe check out this video th-cam.com/video/0kVz--X68Qc/w-d-xo.html
@@teohyc thanks!
Wowwwww 🫣🥰
Do they have worldwide delivery.
Not sure. If you need global delivery, look at Jackson's Art or Dick Blick.
