Pavlo clearly didn't cross the line but the referee clearly gave it to him. Bad judging in my opinion. Why do you even have just 1 judge for 2 athletes?
I'm friends with Pavlo and we all know that mistakes like that cost u. Pav will learn from it and tbh I think if u looked at points Pavlo still would have still come sixth anyway
@@petershortland478 I get being a stickler for the rules but why take away the full 20m and not just give a tax of 5m or something? Even that is pretty substantial. He prob went 19.9m

Some people go more over the line than others, I'm sure that's counted and if it's not then it should be. Hooper is an animal. I remember the first year I saw him compete (2021 maybe?) I knew he was going to be monstrous in another year or two. Also insane how fast the Slavs are, they just dominate in the speed department
What's the point of that crossing the line rule? I mean, they're not counting how many times they touch the lines, but the distance they carry the shield 🤔
There shouldn’t be ANY booing ffs. How disrespectful of the crowd. Fair enough if there is a bad judgement decision but for the crowd to be booing competitors just because they aren’t from their country is pretty pathetic.
I worked in a steel foundary and I'll tell you now Soldier Boys solid shiled would be impossible to hold as a normal strong man. Strap it to their arm 😂
when that guy fell why did they have to call for a medic. why not have them on standby. and that indecisive ref costing that guy points. wsm always feels cobbled together
They do all kinds of events. Many are static type. Your preference is not uncommon though, and a frequent discussion amongst strongman enthusiasts. I like 50/50. Things like this shield carry are unorthodox enough to test different types of "strength", imo. But a good old fashioned log press (e.g..) is necessary in the mix.
Try carrying anything close to that heavy and walking slowly. You wouldn't make it anywhere near as far as you would moving quickly, it's all about the upper body muscle fatigue.
11:00 “Eddie how difficult was it, those final metres for Mitchell”
Why not ask Mitchell, you’re literally interviewing him.
He does
Mitchell Hooper endured that impressively.
Almost died 😂
@@IRONRIDER97nah, he is smart, used his back first, then his biceps, then his forearms. That was what kept him going

Hooper was like "I don't always carry 400 pound shields around, but when I do, I crip walk"
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA...................................................................................................

Hooper is 28 years old and destroyed everyone. He will be dominating for awhile at his age. 2024 he will win too
Aged wine
Didn’t age well did it
Yeah, he didn't, Caledonia! Come on!
Way to count out a 2 (now 3) time wsm winner Tom Stoltman
The ref says "turn" and then calls it back, such a odd decision.
we're witnessing the birth of a pothole at the end of each carry

Bad refing is just a part of sports but they should have had 2 refs
Clearly it was clearly clear
Would’ve been the first one to cross the line anyways. Should have just crossed it convincingly.

WSM has been a joke as of late tbh for many reasons including this
It went over my head at first but the replay ten seconds later literally showed the ref giving Pavlo the all clear, so like wtf???? Just give him the distance then cuz you told him he did enough
Like yeah he technically didn't do a full lap, he did 99.99% of a lap. Take the missing inch off, don't take the whole lap.

Haha was wondering how they got that back.

Thank u 👍
Props to Thragg for his superb acting skills as if a 400+ lb shield would be a challenge.
Tom got a lesson
The will of Hooper to win is impossible to match!
I was there in person and only a year later can I actually see the competition in general and there aren't even jackasses on ladders blocking the way.
Poor officiating. Should have called him back instantky
Nice to see Ol Eddie on the other side of the mic now.
I love how this casually was happening like it wasn’t happening in my hometown

Pavlo Kordiyaka I hope to see in 2024
As a 6+ year fan of world strongest man, it took me a while that the final was split into several videos. We need better broadcasting.
the best announcer team
I can instantly hear Nick Best saying he has a world record in shield carrying in my head..
Those shields are wicked!

Classless behavior.
Not boos they’re saying the names “Luuuuuke” and “Hooooop” for Hooper. An announcer explained it during another competition.

I'm not sure why they aren't required to carry those shields, like one would carry a shield. I mean it only weighs 430 lbs lol
