Debut of Channel 39 Miami, 1982

Not DX……Here we have a very-retro video: the debut of WDZL channel 39 Miami, today known as WSFL-TV.
Per Wikipedia, the date of this has to be October 16, 1982. I owned my first VCR for about one year at that time.
A contest is mentioned here, which I forget about. However, a bit of trivia: there was another contest to name the robot in the video; the winning name for the robot was “Dazzle.” That fit in well with the call letters!

“Hee Haw” I assume was shown on Ch 39 at that time, but the last place I saw it was the Circle Network (now Circle Country, streaming only)-and Circle might have dropped it anyway. The cost of showing musical guests now in reruns is out of sight, and that’s a problem.
