My husband and I were 25 and 31 when we married… we did a ‘joint party’ a week or 2 before, with alllll of our friends and families, at a bar with a DJ and big dance floor… I had one drink that I sipped on (all night) and didn’t even finish- and we had the best time. Just a few hours, at a neighborhood bar on a Friday night, dancing and singing… no huge trips and crazy expense. It was a great time!

Inside Out 2 hits different when you have older children. My 2 girls are teenagers and some of the things she does and says in the movie just reminds me so much of how my girls acted at her age and I teared up.
Watching both 1 and 2 when your kids are around her age in those movies is so different. I feel that Disney did such a great job of capturing that time in a young persons life and how it is a struggle to figure out who you are but also struggle to parent them at those ages. I have loved my kids so much at every age but becoming teenagers was rough.

It’s actually really sad that so many Nashville natives (like myself) are being pushed out because this is the “trendy” place to live. Nashville is not the same and I agree with the over-saturation of Californians and other transplants it’s lost a bit of its southern charm

In my adulthood I've lived in the south where it can get crazy hot and humid in the summer - but I grew up in Michigan where it's hard to enjoy the outdoors in the coldest months. For sure every area has its drawbacks but has different enjoyable months.

Your family could also relocate to the Nashville area if you decide to move to TN. There are major tax incentives such as no income tax and low property tax. The cost of living is more affordable and you would be closer to Matt's parents in Missouri and other extended family members if you move to the midwest. All positive factors!! You could own land for your kids to explore in their childhood. The winters arent as harsh as where Abby was raised and the summers would be more bearable than in Az. You would find a lot of great young couples to socialize with and some that you already know. The state is very family friendly.

I actually strongly disagree with the concept that for the Dallas Cheerleaders, this is a passion project and it doesn't really matter how much they are payed. We often only have this notion with female dominanted fields (nurses want to help people, elementary school teachers love kids ....) We never say this about the man. Isn't playing in the NFL the ultimate passion project? By that logic, they could be payed the same wages as the Cheerleaders. But they are not, because they are men, they have worked so hard , trained so hard and it's such an elite group of people who are chosen for the NFL. Couldn't the same be said about the cheerleaders?

All the great things in life have passed and now its only about providing for the kids, stressing over expenses.. idk I can imagine how overwhelming that could be. Like your life as a kid is over...

I agree with you about having an expectation of excellence. They excel in their field. I don’t care about football but I would go to the game just to watch the cheerleaders. Matt is so right about paying the DCC team needing to get paid more. Yes, like Abby said, it means more to the girls than just money, it is a huge honor, but with the extremely high standards they hold for the women on the team, they truly deserve more compensation. Not even the football players on the team are held to such high expectations.

So my main objective to give you, Abby, is that everyone is capable of reaching their athletic goals and are able to try, fail and learn and try again. Perspective on the dancer conversation: I danced from age 3 to age 18.
My best friend and I were tall & while I was never overweight, I was much more broad-shouldered than some of the other dancers.
Yes- we felt awkward in many situations. But our dance teacher was amazing. Having a good teacher matters - she was inclusive before that was a thing.
In another class later on, they had us do a pyramid like cheerleaders & of course, my friend and I were the lifters.
On the flip side: I was an assistant swim teacher from age 12 to age 15 & being a swim teacher definitely triggered me as far as feeling pressure to be rail-thin. I now realize how important it is for swim teachers to not all be the same rail-thin person for the sake of the kids seeing someone who they feel they can identify with. ❤

When my girls(they are 13 months apart) were younger and would have a meltdown, "tantrum" I would take our cart to customer service and ask to hang out to for a few minutes. We would go outside and I would wait it out. Once little more calm, we would talk about what they were feeling and if they knew why.
Then go back in to finish our shopping.
I also did my absolute best to see from their perspective, that we are walking around the store and I get to touch/handle anything and everything yet continually tell them "we look with our eyes, hands down please."
I mean how f'n grumpy and annoyed would I be?

8:54 absolutely wrong lol! My mom is an elementary school teacher and she has noticed the behavior getting worse and worse. The cause of this is because of the lack of rules and parenting at home. I suppose you could say kids are getting into less trouble but only because their parents refuse to discipline them lol. No hate! Just wanted to point it 🙂 God bless you both!

I think you missed the mark on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders-it’s not about limiting the job to people who can perform it well. They are not doing lifts, so their weight is not affecting a partner. They obviously aren’t taking people who are too inflexible or weak to achieve their dance moves-and no one cares about that being a filter. We are talking about women physically capable of doing the moves being filtered for aesthetic goals that we as a society can choose to further or reject. The issue isn’t necessarily the fact that a dance team wants to choose to filter their dancers for aesthetics, it’s about what aesthetics they are choosing to uphold.

I don't know about any of the other states you listed, but in WY they do have high property tax and their annual vehicle registration is based on the value of the vehicle. My parents live there and 1 vehicle was/is over $300 a year for their tags. I live in Ohio and we have State Tax and our vehicle registration is $58/year. Something else to look into if you decide to leave AZ.

Our youth group would do polaroid scavenger hunts. We had to do crazy things and take a photo of it. We had to go to a fast food place and sing, find a phone booth and see how many we could get in it, find a cop and have him hancuff one of our group and make it look like they were getting arrested, etc.
Those were the best times of my teenage years.

Nashville isn’t as fun as it sounds. If you’re not surrounded by drunk tourists, it’s crime. You have to have substantial amounts of money to live here comfortably. It’s getting so busy and it’s nothing fancy unless you have millions and millions to make yourself comfortable. But if it’s what you really want I’d say go for it :)

    Forget NASHVILLE!!
We live (23 years) outside of Knoxville, 5 of our 6 kids live in Nashville so I speak in truth.
As was mentioned above with all the benefits there is something else to think about….Nashville:
    1) too expensive
    2) too crowded !!!
    3) it’s more CA, losing the true southern feel
    4) raising kids it’s too crazy there in Nashville
    5) Knoxville is cheaper, Crossville is more so
    6) in Knoxville we are 2 1/2 hours from Nashville & 2 1/2 to Atlanta, where most movies are being made.
    Blessings to you both❤️

my kids are grown adults with kids of their own now , but when they were little and they'd fall and cry , to get their minds off of it this is what I'd do....my daughter hit her head on the wall and was crying , I said oh no , where on the wall did you hit the wall , she showed me , we examined the wall together and I said , the wall didn't get dented ,but it might be sore , maybe you should kiss that spot better , she did and that was the end of the tears....sometimes you just need to change the scenario lol

You can celebrate their birthday as just your small family on their actual birthday, and then combine a big party for the both of them. 🤷‍♀️
Follow Iowa Dairy Farmer. He’s great for learning about the dairy industry. And he often says, milk is a complete meal. Or something like that. It had everything you need. It better for you then but milk, (unless someone is allergic to it).

Humans are the only mammals who drink milk after they are weaned. Milk from pasture raised cows is probably okay (A2 milk) but 'normal' milk is full of antibiotics, growth hormones and pesticides.

My parents used to live next to a woman and her son. My parents are the greatest they liked having their grandchildren over they had a beautiful the kids would go out and play lots of happy noises from the yard (summertime) the wouldn’t let them go outside till after 9:30 pm and the neighbors would go over and yell and scream. It got so bad the the house I grew up in got sold. They moved because of this woman and so did the people on the other side of her. There is so much more but I won’t bore you. Point is you guys are great.

I feel like with the dcc girls it’s the fact that these girls are maybe a size 2 if not smaller and they still tear them down and tell them they don’t look good too fat etc. I think it could be really harmful for younger girls watching it. That being said I also love watching the show especially when it used to be on cmt.
