Its becoz of the sorbitol which is also present in gum. i used to chew a few pieces of gum a day to keep a minty breath. After a few days i had the worst diarrhea and unlike filipe i didnt immediately know the culprit so i had killer diarrhea for almost 2 weeks before connecting the dots.
