    awesome! I want to sell my Peak for this. I know I probably shouldn't as it's my only polysynth..but wow, the Grand Mother has such a character.

      @@Nemorosus that's cool! It's weird though because one is poly and one is mono/Para. Too bad you couldn't keep the Peak so you'd have a poly synth to go with your grandmother.

      @@ultrajayme I agree. It was a decision that had to be made because of money. Couldn't have one, without selling the other.

      @@Nemorosus been there many times! I'm just saying it's hard to get stuff back once you sell it. Made that mistake before and it's a hard one.

    I don’t know why, but I prefer the bass here over what the Subsequent 37 does. I tend to like smooth deep music over hard aggressive music.. guess I answered my own question lol. To me, I feel like the Grandmother/Matriarch has a fuller sound. I hear the fullness in the midrange area. On the Subsequent 37 it sounds more hollow in the mids but very subby on the bottom and it has a sharp top end.

    It’s curious. The Grandmother was the first synth I ever played personally, but I couldn’t really afford it. Since then I’ve played many synths, trying to find the right one, and even owned a couple.. but the reality is that none of them have the Grandmother’s magic.
    The truth is, it’s not perfect (for me, anyway). I would much prefer it was truly polyphonic (thus not paraphonic like the Matriarch) and had presets. But nothing else in the world has that same sonic quality. Instantly familiar somehow, like something found in the back of an old dusty attic..

    So, this synth doesn't let you store sounds that you create? I don't see a patch menu screen.

    • @MrCard
      @MrCard  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, it's a semi-modular synthesizer, and there are no presets.

      If I was mainly working on samples, then why not. If you love the Moog sound, the Grandmother is a wonderful choice.
