Great video. Just what I was looking for. But, how would this set-up go with entering the seed on a Trezor One. Does it appear in a similar fashion, on the device?. Trezor One is a lot smaller.
I purchased a new Trezor due to needing support for additional coins not supported by my old Trezor. Once I restore to the new Trezor and add these new coins, will the old Trezor see them, but perhaps not be able to send/receive/trade?
Thanks for another great video. I have a question. Is it possible to go from a Trezor Model T to an Ledger Nano X, using the Backup Phrase I originally created with my Trezor Model T? And is it perhaps also possible to use this at the same time? I hope you can answer me on this 😉
It is possible. But there might be some discrepancies due to the use of different derivation paths. Ledger and Trezor don't always use the exact same derivation paths. It is a complicated subject: blog.mycrypto.com/the-journey-from-mnemonic-phrase-to-address medium.com/myetherwallet/hd-wallets-and-derivation-paths-explained-865a643c7bf2 So If you do it, you may see some coins but not others. However, you can manually transfer coins from Trezor the Ledger after the import. Once you have everything synced up, you are good to go. P.S you may not run in to this problem at all if you are lucky.
I have a question about how Trezor handles data recovery. If my original device is lost, how does Trezor restore all my information onto a new device? This suggests that the data must be stored elsewhere to transfer it to the new device. Is this information only stored on the computer I connect to, or is there an online backup? What happens if both the computer and the Trezor are damaged-will all the information be lost?
I have a Trezor 1 and want to upgrade to a Trezor Safe 5. The Trezor 1 works fine, no issues. Would it be more advisable to simply set up the new device and transfer the crypto into it from the Trezor 1, or restore from the seed phrase? Not sure if recovery makes more sense in this case, the main concern is transfer fees. Thoughts?
The recovery option works well and avoids transfer fees. Also the Trezor 1 can now be your mirror backup in case something happens to the Trezor Safe 5. This is an older video on doing restores from 12 word backups, but still relevant: th-cam.com/video/fXExFUy8bSo/w-d-xo.html

Hi, CryptoDad. Good video about restoring trezor wallet when you cannot make use of your cold device. But if I need, for example, to format my pc for any reason, I assume I have to install the suite app again. But, would my PIN be enough to have access to my account? Or would I have to use my seedphrase in this case?
@@btau1808 as long as your device is intact you’ll just reconnect it once you’ve got Trezor suite reinstalled. There’s no need to do the seed phrase restore. In other words. Just connect to your computer. Enter your pin and launch your new Trezor suite and you should be fine.
