A powerful message Suzy, if only more people could be encouraged to believe that there can be a peaceful solution to relationship issues, the world would be a better place.
Suzy your message and position as a divorce strategist is so important in today's world. I hope your message is shared far and wide so parents can begin to put their children central when in the mire of breakup.
Im one of the happy people who divorced peacefully as we were both taking decision as grown up people. Unfortunately I know very few people who had such experience and went through a war. I think they should all hear your message Suzy! Thank you for sharing it with us
I am one of the family lawyers who left the profession after seeing my clients and their spouses commit suicide. I saw attorneys ruin lives. As a mediator, I now have many clients choose this peaceful option because they are still vividly traumatized from their parents' divorce. My own children were just one and three when their father and I divorced - we decided not to ruin their lives. Peace in divorce is not only possible, it's our best and truest nature...Yes, it takes, "vision, courage, and boundaries", and I appreciate your explanation of how it is possible.
Such an important message that needs to be heard across the globe. Living through this myself I could see what an impact it was having on my own children, but unfortunately trying to implement peace was one sided. If only..... there was a way that law firms incorporate this as a must .
There has been a huge push to move away from an adversarial approach and the battle terminology with only children caught in the cross-fire and to encourage couples to mediate or have couples therapy, but there needs to be even more emphasis on the damage caused by 'warring' parents on the family. This is a great talk. Suzy puts this into context and how a more peaceful approach is possible.
Your message is so important, Suzy. So much unhappiness can be avoided if more divorcing couples took time to listen to your message x
