      I believe hustle culture is similar to workout culture. While there's nothing wrong with pushing yourself hard, it's crucial to listen to your body to avoid overtraining and injury. Similarly, you must be mindful of your emotions and social cues to ensure you don't over-hustle and damage your relationships.

    for many of us, it's about picking the camera up. but I know you have "you can do this" videos too. One of the things about you doing this solo is that you really create a "buddy" feel which is totally unique. I have been letting you role in the background when I'm doing other work.

    Sure, you do what you need to survive, then at some point you reach a limit: Do you want more, or do you some free time to enjoy what you worked for. The American mindset: You want more, always. The European mindset: Do I have the capability AND capacity to do more or do I get a fulfilling job and peace of mind.
    Big difference. And the reason for it: The social structure is there to accommodate that choice.

    • @Paul_C
      @Paul_C หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, you have the chance to do more, nobody but you can decide that. Thus do what YOU want to do, that is completely up to you. As you would do in the USA, just try to remember, that safety net still exists for you too, right? In the USA wouldn't have choice, you'd do it no matter what.
      That was what said Big Difference.

    The greater the rewards the greater the sacrifice. It’s very easy to say you regret something that made you successful once its all said and done and it sounds good to the people that might have been affected on your road to success but we as creative shouldn’t necessarily take the end of someone’s story criticizing what they did that made us care to even listen to them taking back things that they’ve done in the past to make them who they are now. Casey is a storyteller… he seems to always be willing to tell the story people wanna hear to get him where he needs to get. Whether he tells that story on a vlog or a podcast… a story and the truth… isn’t always as interconnected as we would expect it to be.

    OG Casey Neistat follower here.😊 I think the piece of the puzzle that people forget and I noticed that he doesn’t repeat in his interviews often is that he started daily vlogging to promote and bring attention to the media company Beme that he was building. He stated this in one of his earlier vlogs. Beme was his version of a raw video social media app. Millions of people fell in love with his story telling but his original intent for daily vlogging was Beme. He probably put to much pressure on the quality of the vlogs because of his love of film making. However, he has said many times that his goal was never to be a vlogger. I do not believe in hustling to simply hustle. However, I rarely hear a person that is building a business say that they have work life balance all the time. For everything there is a season!

    Listen (luister), life happens in seasons. For me, I'm in a season where I was fortunate enough to be able to take a break from my work. Not because I wanted to, but because I burnt out in a major way. But now, after healing my body, the hustle is back on. On the one hand because I also just love to work, and I have new dreams and aspirations and don't want to go back to my job. And on the other hand, I needs to make monies. That's just the way it is. Like you, I ain't going broke. I know what it's like and I don't want to go back. Casey had his season of hustle and it paid off. Now he can choose to do stuff or nothing at all. He earned it. Those are my thoughts, just another random internet aunty with an opinion 😂😂

    I think everyone is just different, some people can grind and have it make sense for their life and some people need more breaks to deal with potential burn out
    And also what stage you’re at in your life, me personally right now, I can take my time and grind everyday lol but I don’t have a family so that changes the entire game lol
    My mindset on hustle is, the time is gonna pass either way, so make something of it or don’t but either way you gotta live with the consequence of your actions

    Totally agree! It's all about balance. I even made a video about that - my last one - and I even sung in it some verses of the song Time from Pink Floyd:
    And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
    Racing around to come up behind you again
    The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older
    Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
    (...)
    Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
    Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
    Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
    The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say...
    Sometimes, hustling hard for a long time for more could let us relatively wealthy but ruined, without a family, even without friends... The thin line of the middle ground seems to be so difficult to find and to stick with it. In the same time I feel that the economy is organised in such a way, that you are hustling to get a stability in your life, then some crisis happens, and even if that doesn't hit you hard, you have to continue to hustle just to recover, and... Sometimes a question arises: What's the point to be wealthy and to be able not to work anymore when you are in your sixties, alone, with plenty of health issues that prevents you from having the good life you dreamed about? Tough question. But, again - balance is everything although it is so difficult to find and maintain.
    Anyway, thanks for the thoughts 🙏😊
    ~Philip

    Hey success ain’t easy dude and sometimes somethings gotta give. Look! Today Casey can do whatever he wants and his family benefited from that sacrifice. Although it was tough for his family, it eventually worked out because I believe his wife understood the vision.
    George Lucas got divorced when he created Star Wars (his wife was the editor on the first movie and it won her and Oscar) but later he sold a devision of his company to pay for the settlement and that sold company became Pixar, Steve Jobs company and made Toy Story 😄. I know I am off topic but sometimes life happens but it shouldn’t derail you from the vision.

  • @TheAdamToy
    @TheAdamToy หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think getting out there, and doing what you need to do, to not be broke, is good. Especially when it's to take care of your family. I think when it comes to neglecting your wife and kids because you're so focused on the money then it's the issue, cause money is your priority not your family and that's when you need to re-evaluate things. Can you survive making less to spend more time with your family instead of "keeping up with the jonses" mind set we see a lot of. There is nothing wrong with hustling, especially for a season, maybe to get out of debt or whatever it may be. It's when it becomes a lifestyle and other parts of your life are paying for it.

    I think the term hustle culture is just a term to give a pass to how you go about making a living and how you go about your lifestyle ....
