The Wind That Shakes The Barley is an Irish rebel song written from the perspective of a young Wexford rebel during the 1798 rebellion in Ireland. The rebels were mainly part of the Society of United Irishmen, an Irish organisation mentioned in the song. The Battle of Oulart Hill, a massive rebel victory, is also mentioned.
