Aw, yes, I've been waiting for a new Portal track for a while! Sounds phenomenal as always, Fluppy, really fits in with the style of The Escape Pod, your previous song - it sounds like an interesting mixture of the Old Aperture and Modern Aperture styles found in the game. I could definitely see this being the menu track for a fan-made mod, or even for Portal 3. Great job! :)
Demon Arisen You should totally hire this guy for Portal 2: Desolation, I can already imagine this song being in it. It fits really well from what I know from the setting so far.
Even three years later. . . I find myself coming back to listen to this and the other track. They're so beautiful. So much atmosphere. Wherever you are now, my guy, just know you've left an impact on the world, however small it may be. Hope things are going well for you, and thank you for these treasures.
Thank you so much for your comment, it's fantastic that you're still coming back to listen to my tracks! It means a lot to me! I am still here, just not active on TH-cam. With that said, I'm slowly planning a new video that I promised to a few people in the comments over the years.
Oh snap, I only just now saw this (Wouldn't you know, it's because I came in for another listen) and that's really cool! I can't wait to see what you drop!
I really liked this track, really feels at home early in the game where you are only just discovering the desolation and corrosion of the labs around you
I can hear a little bit of "the escape pod" in there, which sounds really nice. I'd imagine this would be something that would play before the escape pod part. It would be really nice to see these in a portal 2 mod, I'd play it.
You're really the best out there for making these Portal styled songs. That's amazing. Really feels like Valve was behind it, but you created your own style. I am thirsty as hell for new Portal OST for years now, and your work is the only thing that satisfies me. Thanks to you, I'm still alive!
"Hello and welcome to the Aperture Science ETP Program. You are one of the very few test subjects we have to work with, my name is *BZZRT* and I will be your computer-aid throughout the enrichment center."
Yup. This is Portal. This is exactly Portal! The music is awesome, and the style is 200% accurate! Mark my words. If Portal 3 (or a sequel) ever comes out, I'll pray to Valve and everyone that this track may be inserted in the game!
The portal games were some of the best games to ever be created. Just as this soundtrack is the best to have ever been made! Love the work and hope another song will eventually come out.

Hey! I’m currently working on recreating all of the portal games in Minecraft (the entire aperture facility), and have been looking for a menu soundtrack for this huge project. This fits perfectly, and i was wondering if i could use it. I will of course credit you in the menu itself, in clear text. If you want more information, the project is on PlanetMinecraft, under the name of Aperture Facility.
Hey there, sure thing, feel free to use the track! The project looks impressive btw, you definitely captured the atmosphere of Aperture Science in Minecraft!
Hello again. Recently I found the Native Instruments that Mike used. This is a huge package with a huge number of presets. If you know, then maybe you'll tell me the name of the preset, if that's the case, LFO-background sound. Example: "Portal2 07 The Part Where He Kills You (2:40)"
Also, can you tell, if not hard, the names of the other presets, if you remember. Those that I found: *Mssive -Action to reaction -Applecrate magma *Kontakt -Kontakt Factory Library -> Electronic Piano & other *Reaktor -new school library Also Mike used Plogue Chipsound
I've used your music in my custom Portal 2 map, named "Frequent Freakout" on the Portal 2 Steam Community Workshop. You can find information crediting you for your soundtrack in the description of the 3rd 'map'. (let me know if this is an issue, amazing music!)
I used Propellerhead Reason 9, for the synth sounds I used one of Reason's synths (Thor) as well as Rob Papen's Predator. The orchestra parts were done with ProjectSAM's sample library (arp, strings, brass) but I'm also using Zampled's Euphonic Strings refill and even the stock Orkester sound bank for the flute sound. I was actually thinking about doing a video where I go over some of the sounds used in my Portal 2 songs, but I'm not really sure if enough people would be interested in that.

Hi, thank you so much! In the past few years I've been mostly focusing on uni and work. I'm happy to say that I get to do both level design related stuff and music stuff as my job, so I think that's probably the best way to use my skills! I'm glad that even after a few years of no activity you haven't forgotten about my channel! I'd love to make some more videos, but to be honest I'm not quite sure which project I should do next - I think most of my subscribers would probably expect me to make another Portal track or a Doctor Who remix :D One thing I've wanted to do for a while is to do a project file breakdown and explain how I made those tracks, but my previous soundcard didn't allow me to record videos like that. But just a few days ago I finally upgraded my soundcard so I might actually get myself to record the videos! Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see from me, it might inspire me to consider making new videos!
@@VojtaSiman That is great to hear and I'm really happy for you! I'm glad you were able to find an appropriate job (and hopefully one that somewhat pays well)! About your next project - I would definitely love to watch a breakdown video of one of your tracks, and I'm sure other people would too. (Though it's your channel after all, so feel free to upload anything to your heart's content ;) ) Also, I really appreciated this sort of 'update' from you and I'm looking forward to seeing what you make! Ps. Of course I didn't forget, how am I supposed to forget such a great artist?? :D
Thanks! I'm using Rob Papen's Predator synth, but it doesn't really matter which one you use as long as you can sync two oscillators in it (that's an important part of getting that sound). I believe Mike Morasky used NI Pro 53.
There are a lot of instruments and effects in this track, is there anything in particular you're looking for? The beepy sample-and-hold synth was made with Rob Papen's Predator, the arp is from Reason's soundbank library (probably layered with ProjectSAM arp if I remember correctly), the main sync lead sound was also made with Rob Papen's Predator. I don't remember the exact process for that glitchy percussion but it involved resampling a percussion loop and timestretching it (and abusing it so it actually produces those glitchy artifacts that add it that digital flavour). I hope this has helped at least a little!
I don't know, imagining 535 people standing in a room shouting "we clicked on a button because we watched some of your videos and wanted to see more" sounds pretty impressive to me! I'm grateful for every one of them
