Essentially, the infected in left 4 dead are basically trapped within their own bodies due to the green flu, passengers within that can feel, see, and hear EVERYTHING. But they cannot control their own bodies and see un-infected individuals as monsters or demonic beasts, thus causing them to attack instead of just running away (though an exception to this would be the Fallen Survivor Uncommon Infected from The Passing, as it runs away if it is shot at).

The Green Flu. Truly like a piece of hell brought to earth. Most zombie viruses are alike. When you get bitten, you’re basically doomed to die and become a mindless husk that hungers for living flesh. At least those kind of zombie viruses are somewhat merciful, because it kills you. The Green Flu keeps you alive, let’s you experience the agony, the pain, and the unbridled rage that it causes. You’re forced to wander like a lost soul, forced to attack any survivor you see. Forced to watch as you mercilessly tear that survivors innards out in rage. With the green flu, all you can wish for, is death. But how long will it take to finally come? How long will you be forced to commit such inhuman atrocities until your misery is finally put to rest.

When I listen to this, I always imagine a mother singing this to her baby in a stroller, rocking it back and forth. She’s at a CEDA evacuation center and one of the guards hears her humming. He says how much her humming calms the her baby, making it going to sleep. However the mother is infected and CEDA has to force her to leave. The guard gives her a radio before she has to leave. She locks herself in a nearby building. She knows she’s gonna turn soon so she turns on the radio and the guard turns on his. She hums one last time to her baby (0:45). The guard rocks the stroller back in forth, calming the baby. The mother turns into a witch after she finishes humming.
That story really reinforces the fact that the virus forced most people away from both their loved ones, and the life that they knew. The virus took everything from them...and they couldn't do a single thing about it.

left 4 dead is actually really competent with how it handle the entire genre, the main reason we find it silly is because the characters are complex and colorful despite being stereotypes, and they seem to use humor to cope with the outbreak realistically
This menu shows that the l4d infection would actually be impossible to survive and how the survivors deal with it, imagine, a zombie apocalypse with zombies that throw cars like they were toy cars, or that can crush you to the ground or that can take you away, killing you melted with acid... Zombies feel pain as seen in the comics, so imagine the tank, taking every shot, catching fire or taking katanas and axes to the face.
For me, the first part of Left 4 Dead will always be cool. Even this theme is very epic, and shows how desperate the world is.. and how he dies... It even got to goosebumps at the moment when the vocals came from the radio.

Truly one of the most tragic and haunting Survival Horror game theme has ever had. You can feel the hopelessness, the horror, the dread, and the end of humanity through it.
Now THIS is how you make the perfect Survival-Horror Menu theme.
I hope it happens in real life. Humanity deserves it.
@Calverio did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?
@@cavaleiroanelado9532 my dude you will be begging for your father's life as his throat gets ripped open by his own wife
Pamiętam gdy ta gra wyszła i z ciekawości ją zakupiłem. Ta magia jaka panowała wtedy była nie do opisania. Tyle setek godzin przegrane z ekipą wieczorami, że głowa boli. Ehhh łezka kręci się w oku ;[
Man i prefer this classic menu background, is so iconic for me
Bill's and Humanity's Funeral theme
I always thought this was the witch humming before she was infected
the mmmm part had me cry..
me too...i just can't 😢
Will forever be on of the most sinister / Apocalyptic Video Game themes of all time.
0:35 ... Wow. This just makes me sad...
Joder, siempre recordaré a este juego con mucho cariño
Imagine you are the only survivor in the world and you playing this song:
You can see agony in their moves.....
If there was a zombie apocalypse, and my mom was getting attacked by a zombie, I would sacrifice myself to savers her
L4D theme: CEDA failed, the military failed, all hope is gone.
Swamp Fever menu theme: A new world borns while trying to survive a new enviroment
I wish someone added this as a backround in ps4
Yeah, it’d be sick.
But sadly l4d isn’t on ps3/4
@@BenAntSimmons I feel like L4D would've been more popular if it was on PS3/PS4 and that thought makes me sad.
@@Pachvco_ yeah
@@Pachvco_ but aren't all valve games only on xbox and pc
Would be great if there's an extended version of this and l4d2
I love how it's basically the Gameover theme for Humanity. It's not metal or fun, it's just depression and lost hope. In this universe, we failed.
Left 4 Dead is the best xbox game that my brother showed me and i love it. Thank you valve for this creation
Full of sad and depression...love this game !
left 4 dead is actually really competent with how it handle the entire genre, the main reason we find it silly is because the characters are complex and colorful despite being stereotypes, and they seem to use humor to cope with the outbreak realistically
This game is a fucking horror game in my childhood, and still is now. Turtle Rock & VALVe managed to keep the theme relevant while making the sequel's theme different.
Nostalgia at its finest.
Bill you will be forever missed. Rest In Peace
Good Luck Bill 1929 - 2017 RIP :(
Good guy Bill
I respect this game the first one
brings you back 10 years. omg
l4d2: goofy mods and overall a good experience even in vanilla
l4d1: *What's left..?*
This game really was ahead of its time man. Such a great zombie shooter to play especially with friends and family
Back 4 Blood never stood a chance
Left 4 dead and 28 days later have the best zombie horror themes. Literally perfectly captures a zombie-torn world void of hope and life
This is so sad. Especially after reading the sacrifice comic
The song that plays when the calendar says December 32nd 2020
Вот после вступительного ролика эта песня так пробивает тебя и ты чувствуешь атмосферу.
I've been playing this game recently. It's a blast. The music fits the dreary, apocalyptic world perfectly.
The fact that I was born in 2008 and this was my Favorite game is very interesting to me for some reason and this game was made in 2008
I miss this game so much
