thanks, my life was made of living with anticipation of doing better/faster but It only gave me deception. I can not be the other guy. I can only be myself and be happy/gracious of all I have.

Hurry makes me unhappy, angry and unappraciative of blessings which I have received, being it work or opportunity to meet people, do things or else. It's a toxic experience.

Is it ironic that I'm listening to this on double speed 🙄

But have you tried listening at 0.75 or 0.5 of the speed? It's trippy.... :)

Thank you so much for this. It’s especially relevant to this season when many of us are trying to discern the opportunity of this global shutdown. I needed to remember this. It is well with my soul...

Ok, so I struggle with this message. Slowing down is a great idea in theory, but living in a capitalist nation that literally reduces people's value to their degree of productivity, I need the people who teach on this ideal to explain to me how "eliminating hurry" is a viable option for the millions of people who can already barely make ends meet? I'm not talking about people clamouring to get that promotion they don't actually need; I'm talking about people who aren't sure if they can make rent or buy enough groceries this month. I'm not trying to sound hostile or defensive here, just... messages like this one feel very out of touch for the less-than-middle-class Christian, to me.

God can create that life for you if you let Him. I am a minimalist slow living person in a capitalistic country. God expects us to work diligently at our job it is in the Bible but stress is NOT Biblical. He can design that life for you, if we pray and submit to His plan for us (I had to change field entirely). It is possible.

Theres a difference between being lazy and being paced...... Being patient doesnt mean you aren't organized or prepared or on time. If you have a busy life, look for areas of waste, organize your life more precisely, and get rid of excess.... and then refill the time with more sabbath. That's what I'd say to that. I think you're understandably confusing patience with laziness. Theres an arguement to be made that hurry is a result of hurry which is a result of hurry which is a result of unreasonable and irrational expectations. If we took all of the essentials of our life and got rid of everything else, we'd be surprised with how much freedom we really have. Even those who work 2-3 jobs as single parent making minimum wage still place unreasonable time constrainted expectations upon themselves. In my life for example, I work partime as an engineer while finishing my engineering degree and am a musician at church and youth leader and am married to a perfect wife who works as a mental health therapist 9-5 and is also a youth leader at our church..... And I am at home the most so I am cooking and cleaning and fixing and washing clothes 80% of the load. So we recognize that we are busy but we are currently planning to reposition our life and career that would allow us more time and pace. She wants to start a private practice and I want to start an internet company. And we want to save enough money to travel the world for half a year. We arnt focused on time. We are focused on destinations. We never put time above our marriage, Jesus, our passions, our convictions, our health, our mental health.....
We are fortunate i know but we've struggled and have been poor working college kids eating ramen. It's taken a lot of hard work to reposition our life around the things that matter rather than deadlines. Again, being patient doesnt mean you are not working hard.

I went through about 10 years in my life where I lived considerably below the poverty line and had to work a whole lot to make ends meet. It was easy to justify not tithing, not spending my time properly with God and people, and generally not trusting God in obedience in quite a few areas. The crazy thing is that when I sacrificed my money my tithing, God rewarded in ridiculous ways and I it was always way more than the 10%+ I gave away. When I sacrificed my time to honor Him by listening, reading His Word more, and creating margin to have quality time with God, I was always more productive. And believe it or not, these issues or more trust issues than need issues. As we trust and obey, He tends to work out the details in abundance. Simplify your needs, use of time, and use of money, and He honors that with fruit in your life.

@@p.r.9982 Amen. I'm on a similar journey. God has increased the range of finances that I can live on and the amount of space I need to have to carry out daily living (i.e., my minimum has become smaller for both).
In little and in plenty... Paul said he could do all things through Christ who strengthened him... to follow Christ.

This is really stressful to watch and listen to! The intro music with this high tempo beat and quickly shifting scenes almost made me mad. I thought this would be something that would make me calm down. I had to turn the whole thing off...
