i just struggled with having to do this with only my broken key fob and the blank replacement fob. could not get it to program to my car or get the theft deterrent to go away....and i see a lot of people asking about it. so after trying everything i thought of without having to spend money i decided to rip open the plastic case to my old fob making sure the green "motherboard?" stayed unharmed and popped open the new fob the just put the green computer piece in the old fob to the new one.. placed the spring piece and crap back in then closed the new fob and it worked... old fob is shredded though lol. dont think it was meant to be taken apart but hey this worked for me hope it helps someone else and saves you time..also i have a 2017 chevy impala.
Yeah, I noticed there are no comments for the question responses. I saved money on the fob, might as well pay the price for the “Cut & Programming “. I also noticed that the first video had 1 “cut” key transferred. How did he end up with 2 “cut” in this video? Especially if the 1 cut was switched between fobs! Since I made this video, I had to replace the computer in my wife's car. Currently, her remote start doesn't work. I don't know if its due to the computer change or it didn't work before. Its still worth trying out.
Why did you start the car with the broken key first? Didn't you have a spare good key to start the car with (usually the car comes with 2 good key fobs)? I am assuming that after the steps in this video worked that you then placed the broken key that you started the car in this video into another key fob and had to reprogram that key also with the 2nd new fob?

This is most likely a silly question...but I only have a 2020 Chevy Spark LS. It only came with a basic turn key. No fob. I do know that somehow the driver side front door as a feature that can unlock/lock with OnStar. Is there some way I can program a GM key fob to lock and unlock the front driver side door?

I do believe when I made this video several years ago it worked. But I had to change the computer on it a year or so ago.
