Awesome! I bought a couple fobs off Amazon and Ace Hardware cut them both for the price of one ($25.00) and this video was so easy. The guy would've charged me another 20 to do it himself
I had a replacement fob that was already programmed. I replaced the battery and nothing. Tried this and now both remotes are working. Thank you for posting this information.
This work just like he showed it was unbelievably easy and I saved alot of $$$. I bought my key off Amazon for 10.99 and switch the key itself to the new fob this video is very much appreciated
Thanks a lot!!!! When I went to the dealership ,they wanted to charge me $150 for program it, I only pay for the key and I went to this Channel and did it myself and save myself a lot of money. So once again thank you 🙏 yo
I got my car key remote from ebay do i need to get my key cut? or do i just program it only? Look forward to hearing from you or anyone on this channel. Thank you
Thank you! I only had one cut. So I took pin out started for 5 seconds or dings then took the old key and put in it the new fob then it started right up and connected the new fob.
Thanks so much for the video. My key had physically broken off but just use a pair of pliers to turn the ignition while holding the fob against the steering column and di you instructions...work perfect and saved me 130 dollars from the dealership.
Ordered the fob from Amazon and after I get it cut I’m gonna try this. I put this off for like a year and a half bc I thought it was complicated and it gave me anxiety lol
You are Heaven sent 🙏 THANK YOU. The hardware store was still trying to charge me over $100 to cut close to the dealership price, and they only cut their own keys u buy. So I went to a locksmith instead who literally only charged me $10 to cut. And yes there's a difference between the hardware store and locksmith store Especially price wise

You still don't have to take it to a dealership to program if you don't have a working fob. As long as you have the laser cut key. You can buy a new fob, switch the key blades, and go through a slightly longer process with your ignition.
Thanks for posting this. For some reason, when I do this I am able to get the car to start with the new key once, but even while it is running the dash reads “service theft deterrent system”. When I turn the car off, the buttons on the fob do not work and the new car will not start the car again. 2011 Chevy Cruze.

Hello, I have a key fob that was mostly destroyed (well at least the shell). I cannot get the shell apart to get the green motherboard (which is still intact) so I tired to program this way however when I insert the key the horn goes off like I’m stealing it. I used the original cut key in my new fob - any ideas here?
When you say key fob can you still program it without the factory key? I have a key that I use the turn the car on but it isn’t a fob key. It’s a regular key.
Is that possible with a keyless ignition? I have a Chevy cruze sw 2013 and it hás smartkey, the car dont even has ignition! Thanks for you support in advance 🙏
It should unless there’s an issue with the car itself. Some common things that cause the remote start to not work include a stored or active code, low fuel, hood ajar switch faulty
Mine didn’t work the yellow theft light on dash flashed with the new key but didn’t disappear like it does with the original key and when I try the remote the new key doesn’t work

Weird because ive done this on several Chevy cruze 2012 models more on the 1.4 and 1.8 engines from my home. All I did was grab old that doesnt work remote. insert key hold on ignition for 5 secs to 8 secs then had the new remote with another original key i had. Turn on to ignition held for few seconds then I turned the car on. This works for me every time.
Only thing I can think of is when you opened the remote did you drop the green part it had inside because the key is not connected to nothing electronic so it should not affect the new remote in any way.The other thing I can think of is that the key design wasn't done well and that's why the car doesn't turn on.
