I've had 1.25 spidertrax on my 4runner for over 6 years and the same spacers on my FJ Cruiser for two years now. I've rock crawled, jumped dunes, blasted desert trails at over 90mph, towed heavy trailers and daily drove them. Not worried about my Spidertrax even while running 35x12.5 tires.
I need to do some more research on the spacers. I love the look, but just one horror story got me scared. Not for myself per say, but it's my daily driver. I have a 5 year old and a baby on the way. Got this daddy worried ha
@@Brandles5 I don't blame your skepticism. About 12 years ago I had a wheel spacer catastrophe of my own on my car on the freeway. It's proof you get what you pay for and the spidertrax makes a very high quality product. You can see in my last video of me blasting my FJ in excess of 80mph on unforgiving terrain, big jumps and crash landings with 6 year old wheel spacers. The spidertrax spacers are hubcentric so the weight of the vehicle isn't stressing out the wheel studs.

The guy from the 'Engineering Explained' channel says spacers are fine and backs it up with actual math & science. Plus...you have to love the 'look' of the rig! Its your rig, build it like you want it!

Looks amazing! With all that schteel, however, and the small bladder of the 4Runner, really wondering what gas mileage is going to be. It has to be 10mpg's hopefully not less!
If he goes up a tire size without regearing, he will probably lose an additional 2mpg. If he gets MTs rather than ATs, it will also be another 1mpg or more loss. Tires make all the difference usually. Hopefully he stays realistic.
It looks like aftermarket bumpers block a lot of the airflow to the radiator, did you notice a rise in engine temp or have cooling system issues when it was hot outside?

Where he is cutting at 6:26 in the video to be more specific. The edge is going to be bare even tho it’s small I would think it would rust since it would be bare. I was wondering if he painted it or put a clear coat on the edge to keep that from happening. Thanks for the reply.

Who’s saying spacer are bad? We run huge spacers in drifting and yeah I’ve see then are spacers bad videos but as long as they’re hub centric and quality then it’s all good. Not every mod can be 100% functional. A lot of modding vehicles is aesthetics and thats okay!

SpiderTrax spacers are top notch! I wouldn't worry too much about what others think of you using them.

Love watching the transformation of your rig. Did you do anything to the the rear tail light, I saw they were removed during the skid plate install.

Yup 40k on my spacers (wheel adapters) always torque checked every tire rotation no probs.

Spacers are fine. Ppl run them on track cars all the time with no issues.

Yes they powder coated them. You can get the color matched to your truck as well. Or you can get bare steel if you want to handle it yourself
I have a 2018 white sr5 and I’d like to color match the bumper to be white. But I don’t see the options for different colors when I go to order it.

Jason, do the larger tires when, and only when you are willing and able to do gears. Just my opinion but you would be foolish to otherwise.
