    Nice work. I just completed the same install two weeks ago (same winch with control box on the side rather than top). Pretty straight forward. I did have problems getting the pax fog light disconnected until discovering the cover comes off over the light. I could not imagine trying to film the process as you did. Lots of work to do both. Kuddos to you both.

      The control box on the side would have made things easier

    Do you have to remove the TRD skid to install? Or does it just make it easier? Thanks.

    The Dynamic Duo you two! Sweet project and giving Southern Style Overland a little competition for a low profile bumper. I like it a lot. No blue Loctite on dem bolts man? Oh my.

    Are the plastic radiator air pieces necessary? Instead of trimming them. Are there downsides when they are removed?

    • @SnailTrail4x4
      @SnailTrail4x4  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I recall we needed to keep the plastic because it was a part of the mounting brackets for the radiator

    Once the cuts are made, is there any reason you can't put the stock bumper back on and then install the C4? Just wondering if after the cuts, the stock bumper has to stay off before you install the C4. Thanks

    • @SnailTrail4x4
      @SnailTrail4x4  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's quite possible, but there are lots of bolts and connectors that you need to work on that would be behind the bumper

    Did you have to do a leveling kit or lift kit to deal with the extra weight up front? I want to do this to my 2015 TRD pro but wondering how much the weight up front sinks the nose of the truck on my stock bilstein suspension

    What KC light bar is this? I cannot find one. BD is really expensive so looking for something of quality, but not as expensive as BD.

  • @davej7426

    I'd think for the price of the bumper that C4 would include hardware to move the power steering line and AC line. Seems like they are cheaping out on that. I have looked at this bumper as a future upgrade and hope C4 makes these changes.

    • @SnailTrail4x4
      @SnailTrail4x4  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It actually isn't C4s issue, the problem was with the winch. I'm not sure if C4 has a specific winch they suggest for their bumpers.
      Now the smittybilt winch does have the option to move the control box off to the side, but we figured it would be easier to adjust the power steering line over completely removing the bumper and changing up all the wires and then reinstalling everything.

    looks great but the trim seems a little gappy around the edge ther compared to other ones ive saw but maybe they just tryd not to show the fitmint id like to get one for my 4runner

    • @SnailTrail4x4
      @SnailTrail4x4  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the videos didn't really show the fitment from what I've seen this is why I wanted to show it. There are definitely ways to improve the fitment. I think we cut off to much but we were just following C4s instructions.

    Looks great! Also those rectangular cut outs on both sides of fairlead, Can they be used to access the winch or they are just for aesthetics?

    Looks good. I've been looking at the Southern Style Offroad stubby but now I suppose I need to check this one out. Sliders are next for me then either front bumper/winch or lift. What is your opinion on brand of winch? I'm thinking Warn but I'm open for ideas.

    How do you access your freespool and remote hookup on the winch?

    • @SnailTrail4x4
      @SnailTrail4x4  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's holes designed into the bumper that we can use to preform those tasks. They are a funky angled shape so they won't be used for lights

      Thanks for pointing out to me that that link is incorrect. That was the link that Brenan sent me, and I didn't review it. I see now that it's just a write-up of the same install as the video. I contacted him to see if he's done a write-up on the winch and lights install as he said he would. When the bumper came to me it already had the winch and lights installed so I couldn't show that in the video. Trail4r.com should have a ride up on setting up the bumper, but I haven't been able to find it. As soon as Brenan response to me I will update the link in the description.
