Office watch: Speedy “reduced” (38ish mm) on a none other than Teddy B black alligator strap (18mm). Enjoyable enough for me personally and subtle enough to fly under the radar for co-workers and clients to avoid any possible negative connotations that could be associated with “some” brands. My first “watch” (excluding smartwatches) was a vincero, specifically the icon automatic. It sent me down the rabbit hole into learning about watches, and lead me into buying its replacement, the tissot gentleman titanium. I wear the gentleman to work every day (sales job) and wear the vincero as my beat up watch. While I now know vincero isn’t a great brand, and am still within the year return policy, I plan on keeping it for the simple reason that I like the design and it ignited my love of watches!
My grail watch is the omega aqua terra 41.5, but unless I win the lotto I will probably never own it!
There’s just something about the classic blue dial watches that I can’t get enough of. I’ve also found I like the weight of the stainless steel and size of the automatic a bit better!

The first watch I bought as a young professional was a weekend watch, a Casio Pro trek, a few of years after graduating, must have been in 1996. Before that I wore a Casio DBX-103 Data Bank Calculator watch I bought whilst in University, I am an Engineer. Then in 1999 I bought a Longines Conquest, thus called back then. It is the exact same watch as the current 35mm Conquest Heritage, but without the word "Heritage". Around 2005 I bought a TAG Heuer Carrera Twin Time and started my watch collection.

My "office" daily is the Islander ISL-82. 38mm field watch, NH38, 100m water resist, blackout DLC case, sapphire AR crystal, highly legible dial and handset in all lighting conditions with no fauxtina. Yellow second hand on black dial is a personal favorite color combination. Came with leather-back black canvas strap with yellow contrast stitch, swapped for a plain black elastic para-band that won't discolor and deteriorate as obviously with dirt and grime. I work in an automotive repair shop. It's not getting knocked about and abused, but it's not getting babied and taken off while working, either. I'm careful what I do with my hands as it is to prevent injury. Doesn't draw attention to itself in a blue-collar environment, stands up well to daily shop wear, more compact than a G-Shock so less likely to get in the way in tight spaces. Sure, something like a Casio F-105 would have been the "sensible" choice, but I wanted something nicer.

I started working last year and with the job, came my love for watches to be honest. Started my collection last year and I own a Tissot Le Locle with a white dial on the bracelet. I also own a Seiko SSA393J1 (brown dial with gold accents, brown strap). Love them both!
The Tissot is amazing both for the business casual and business executive attires. However, I do love more the Seiko for the business professional. Got some comments as well on the watches and it always brings a smile out of me.
    Thanks for the great video

Hey Teddy, after watching one of your previous videos, I have purchased my first dress watch, i.e Tissot Gentleman Quartz Titanium, with a blue dial. Thanks for making me enter this World of Watches, which I did not even know existed.
I will definately come back to this video, for suggestions while buying my next.

Mido ocean star was my graduation present some 50+ years ago and still going strong; I don't it wear that much but for special occasions, hope to pass it down to one of my grandsons. Watches are a look into one's past, usually a reminder of special or significant event in our lives.

If you are really deep down in below $200. I can personally suggest Casio Edifice EFR-S567D-2AVUDF. Quartz Movement with Sapphire glass, Stainless steel strap and a blue dial. I got mine for around $120 in local Casio store.

my first watch was the seiko cocktail time silver dial, on the strap as sort of the first dress watch to start in the banking industry , then after a couple paychecks went for the tissot gentlemen powermatic 80 black dial, typically in a dress shirt, and pants, sometimes blazer no tie, but wanted something that can basically go with anything. Yet most notably picked up a solid green seiko 5, for casual fridays which seems to get the most compliments

Great video as always, Teddy! What would you recommend for someone who purchased a tissot le locle silver dial, because of its good looks, simplicity yet elegance in nature, and of course your reviews, but feels a bit short/small on when I join/sit in the big table (Rolex, JLC, etc) I'm trying for a longines but feel an IWC portofino is better if I save up, Omega De vile feels to mature and old design wise. I would like a black/brown leather strap, light colored dial to easily match day/evening events/attires. (Tried Longines dress watches, omega de vile and IWC portofino, even tried Cartier Tank quartz since they're pretty much around the $4k)Thank you.

My first watch was the Tag Heuer Formula 1, quartz version. I know a lot of people hate tag heuer, but I love it! I wear it everyday even though I have better watches now, very special watch for me.

I always have this idealized view of a potential watch purchase "I'll wear it at the bar while I'm hanging out with friends" or "oh I'll wear this in a business meeting where I'm giving a presentation" and then get the watch and its just 'what's next?' 😂😂

Right on the money with the Le Locle Teddy. It's the best dress watch model Tissot has to offer despite their thicker-than-phonebook catalogue. I have it on leather as my winter watch.

Just starting to look for my first watch… thinking about getting. Daydate mint dail with the jubilee on bracelet and fluted bezel. Then a Cartier tank solo, and lastly an omega speed master.
It’s a bit of money, but I think I’d be fine with that 3 watch collection for a very long time.
    Any suggestions or comments?

That Mido Multifort is still on my radar. Haven’t seen it in person but I’ve heard the movements leave much to be desired in term of looks but I’m not sure I care when a dial looks as good as that.
The Baumatic is a great choice too. 5 day PR!

I have both Multifort and Clifton in my collection. The Multifort in the grey dial version. Trust me, both grey and blue are just stunning. The Clifton is just another level and amazing deal at the price point. I’m in Europe by the way. Was able to buy the Clifton way below the mentioned price, at 2300 euro

Glad you mentioned the Omega Deville Prestige. I own one and consider it a great looking trational dress watch. However, it doesn't get a lot of love considering Omega's other offerings. If I were going to a formal affair, the Deville would be my choice.

  • @balesjo
    @balesjo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

That model wearing the well-tailored suit and white shirt, the Cartier Tank XL really completed the professional look. The Omega DeVille would have too, but the Cartier gave a more polished look. The Baume & Mercier and the Longines watches would also be nice professional watcches, the Baumatic in Blue a bit less formal than a white or silver dial, but would really get people's attention. The Tissot Le Locle would really work well for quite a range of young professionals or for more dressy occasions where a suit & tie or a tux are expected. I generally don't care for Roman Numeral dials, but those on the Le Locle are really nice.

I went from a Casio A158 to a Timex Marlin to a Seiko Presage with an open heart and have my sights set on the next tier of watches soon. That Longines Spirit might have to be next on my list but I still have a Hamilton Khaki Field auto and a couple of different Seiko 5's that I want to add first!

I guess I started my career a year ago in banking compliance but was never into watches. My office attire is pretty laid back so my first watch was a Hamilton khaki field auto that I put on a NATO strap. Absolutely love it, when I get the chance though my next watch is definitely going to be a speedmaster.
