Very informative, and I appreciate the straight up approach. Was surprised the edge planed so well. PS: take care of that cough (don’t let ideology get in the way of your health)
Thank you for showing this video. This is EXACTLY what i needed to see. My husband ans I just bought a sawmill last spring, but as you know it doesn't always come out perfectly smooth. Sometimes theirs dips or bumps. Ive been wanting to make cutting boards but cant buy a $250+ bench planer. This makes me more confident in the hand held planer and ive been working with wood since i can remember.
@Lelliana1985 , you are welcome. yeah, for rough cut, it works great. I'd recommend a couple of 5ah batteries for it, though. also save time on planning by getting the saw mill perfectly level on your log. I have another video on that if you have a chainsaw mill!! :)
I thought i was having a stoke reading the first comment. But yes you could have clamped a holder vert without screwing. still, my workshop hasn’t seen a live slab yet. Good viewing mate.
@Psybot222 yeah clamping would have worked too. The way I made the saw horses the top I'd easily removable so once they get cut up or screwed into to many times I can put a new one in.
Your presentation was very helpful to us DIY beginners to electric tools, simple and authentic. Thanks much!
Didn't expect this could be accomplished so easily. Thanks!
Thank you. Someone that actually shows a demo of wood that hasn't already been planed smooth!
Yeah it does a great job for the price on chainsw milled lumber.
If you enjoyed this video I'd urge to check out some of my others and subscribe😊
