I was going down a hill and I panicked cause there's a sharp turn on the bottom so I jumped off. I decided I should learn this lol
ok
i did this and almost got hit by a car last week. so here i am lmao
Partially tore my rotator cuff doing the same thing😬
My first time back on a board in over 15 years. Immediately stood on the board and went down a hill. Ended up jumping off into the grass while my board gracefully glided away into the horizon.
Yeah my legs just turned jello and I panicked and had to ride the wobbles :○
Almost died today so had to come here lol
Ha ditto that
Me too!!
SAME
hahaha sameeee
that’s why I’m here lmao
Michael: what beginners need to know the most.
*does a 360 flip*
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I got a skateboard around a month ago, I can stand on it, turn and go and go quite fast but I need to learn to slow down if I want to go down bigger hills so this helps, thanks for this video :)
I love Powerslides, and they make an awesome sounds :D.
However at certain speed it a little bit scary :D. To get San-Francisco hill-bombing level, I still need some time 😅
Does is flat your whells a lot ?
@@brouczek4897 no
@@brouczek4897 not if they’re spitfire formula 4
Yeah, I am a beginner skateboarder, got a regular board on some cruiser wheels, 78a 59mm, they are perfect for commuting, since therz no skateparks here, my board is for commuting...and since I live in the mountains, you gotta teach powerslides with soft wheels :-)
Hey I ride skate wheels that are about that size, actual longboard wheels will be softer and 70-80mm, also longboards have different trucks and a lot of different features that make them much better, you shouldn’t ride a skateboard for downhill and commuting a longboard will be much safer and easier, and you can go fast with it, that’s why I’m getting one
I live in the Rockies, my street is a steep downhill, and I’d like to start using Skateboarding as my main mode of transportation (with the crazy high gas prices and all). I’ll probably just stick to walking for this hill, but when it comes to others I decided to look this up lol
im in this predicament, the soft wheels actually bounce a lot of rocks out of the way and can kill you if you try to power slide with them... on the other hand, hard wheels will skid on rocks but are easy to powerslide with
i'm an absolute beginner, so thanks for your help! that sounds like a good solution and i need to train that.
I just ate sh!t last night going down a hill so I’ve now decided to learn how to slow down
While watching this I’m just thinking it’s like skiing when you just turn while going down the hill 😂
I hope so cuz I’m way better at skiing then I am at skateboarding
More like snowboarding
Went down a pretty steep hill yesterday and almost almost broke my face on a pole. Decided I should learn how to do this
You’re a good teacher.
I just started skateboarding again recently after not skateboarding in like 10 years and I'm pretty sure if I attempted a power slide right now I would probably hurt myself lol
Then don’t do it. Just do whatever you’re comfortable with. It’ll come naturally.
You make the best video’s
almost twisted my ankle on a powerslide
same LMAO
I’m a decent skateboarder, but I would think the learning curve of how to do a power slide, would mean a lot of falls LOL would it be nice if you would’ve shown this with a regular longboard with bigger wheels, this seems like would be more of a challenge
just got a board today this helped
How is it going
@@monicacastillo8087 he died
Thx from brisbane Australia dude 🤙
But what if you're going fast down a steep hill? Will you go flying or with it actually stop you?
you'll need to put your foot down several times before you go too fast
You’re gonna get sent
@@therealanthony-9529 Ah yes I already learned this the hard way 🤕👍
Very helpful, thanks for creating this.
Can you make a video of how to pick your first board?
When I make an easy video like this it’s usually because I’m hurt in some way.
We want more of these
@@user-wv1vq I've got some more easy videos coming soon.
Everyone come here after eating the street?
Yes
Good thing i have skied since i was 4 and ice skating since i was 7😎
Great info
I always end up stamping on the floor when trying to stop is there a way to drag it instead?
you need the right wheels. Anything above 87 hardness you can powerslide with, anything lower its almost impossible. but be careful, hard wheels dont go over rocks and pebbles as easy as soft wheels so you have to really watch in front of you or get wider wheels
Are powerslides still possible with rubber wheels??
First time I bought my skateboard I went down a long slope and jumped off the skate to stay alive.
I broke a tooth and had a concussion
Does skating facing the right side effect your ability to skate? All the good skaters I know face the left
No
No, ride with whatever foot is comfortable, right or left food forward doesn't matter
No. Left is normal, however, some people prefer to skate with their right foot forward. This is called "goofy"
My advice is that if you're going down a hill that's too steep and narrow with no run out, DON'T! Just carry to the bottom and then start riding again. Steep hills with wheels and no brakes is not the ideal combination.
can you still powerslide on softer wheels?
i almost broke my head down a steep hill then instantly when to this vid😭
I was about to order one for me. But thought of looking out this video first. As it doesnt matter whether you know how to ride some thing but atleast one should how to stop that shit beforehand.
Almost broke my leg yesterday here i am
Thankss
Nearly became a sticker on the road so I figured I should get some tips first😂
thank you so much!
What's stops you from flipping back and falling off when you power slide?
Friction and balance.
Mad Skilz
I just razor tailed and the skateboard was new ang got damaged, but I'm thinking rather than my shoes hahaha! power slide isn't for beginners though.
True
i came here to see if theres a better way then dragging your shoe because i dont want to grind the crap out of my shoes
To add to the difficulty, my soft wheels are squared/sharp lips...not rounded....should be challenging enough for you....lol
Yeet 😆
lmao bro whys your grip like that
Homie had only 2 squares
Its not even even to like bro that looks nasty
@@thesharinganknight9859 maybe it’s just wear an tear looks like an old deck
@@Sonyrocks1Of grip tape doesnt come off like that
@@Sonyrocks1Of its so he knows where NOT to put his feet
i wanna learn to skate board to school but its like all down hill
This video should help.
Didn't lean back so i ate concrete
I still don't know how to brake when I ride the skateboard. I fell and hit my head and my shoulder. Yeah soo fast forward... now I ride with helmet on. But I still cant find a perfect balance I ride one side. And its all in the brakes and clean street 2 ride in
Do you need pro wheels to power slide?
No, but bones or spitfires would help.
Clarify small hill I'm talking about half a mile long and steep
You can slide with cruisers... have you never seen someone on a longboard slide lol
I’d like to see you try. I longboard every night but longboards slide way easier. The longboard wheels are much larger and have a different shape. Longboard wheels slide great because the length and leverage of the longer board allow it. I’d like to see someone try to blunt slide a concrete ledge with soft wheels.
Also sliding in a grind or blunt slide on a ledge is much different than doing some kind of Powerslide on a hill.
Broke my collar bone because I didn’t know how to stop
Dude looks a lot like Bud Bundy
Hahaha I can see that. I’m about a foot taller than David Faustino who plays that character.
He did some skateboarding.
Got rammed so came here
There are a lot more than 3 ways to slow down on a skateboard tho
Zugis Bugis there is but hes just sayig three ways
Ты хороший скейтер но ты не умеешь делать хорошо powerslide
I got better at em. Check my Powerslide video.

Your grip tape annoys me
good thing it's not your grip tape, let him do what he wants with his
@@birchlasagna8804 tell him again 😂😂
I had a grip sponsor back then too
Can someone tell me how he got that tone? Is multi effects pedal enough? 🥲
