Out of the 3 versions you uploaded, this one is my all time favorite. I love the 8 bit version of the Sugarplum Fairies. (why does that word look like if it was spelled wrong lol) for Theme A, Theme B is super catchy, and Theme C is so beautiful. This Theme C is my personal favorite but i also really love GB Type C. Overall though, this one is my favorite. Gotta love Tanaka's work.
Indeed, this and the Game Boy version have had a real stronghold on that market, and they have become so well known in the music of gaming. All thanks to Hirokazu Tanaka ;D
I always loved music 3 (Theme C) it was so mellow and tranquil lol it made it so you could relax a little while playing and not feel so uptight from the other music. I used to sometimes play the game with this music just to hear the music and not really care about how far I got. That golden age of video gaming was great.
Hey Wiiguy, the song at 5:14 I always thought it was so creepy, yet beautiful, like something out of a lonely alien world in a Metroid game. And guess what? Just found out it's the same composer! Thanks for sharing :p
Funny story (perhaps years too late for anyone to read) -- My mother's best friend, in the late 80's, was insanely good, like commonly starting on Level 12 or 13 whenever she'd play. However, she then saw that her ~6 month old kid would go over to the controller when the system was off and play around with it like he was playing it himself. So, she recorded herself playing on levels like ~15 or 16, and when there was someone visiting, she would play that VHS tape (of her gameplay) with her kid playing around on the controller, and they'd think they're literally in the room with a prodigy.
The Tetris app isn't allowed to use this music WHY??? The Russiany, Nutcrackery first theme is so iconic, but I've actually come to really appreciate the third one. It's got a really spacey, surreal yet soothing quality to it.

I always use music 3, Even now when I play the new ones, I am always listening to celtic music or something along those lines. Progressive music, to the slightest degree is not suitable for me when I play this game. I dunno why.
It was called The New Tetris and it was for the Nintendo 64, you could make these giant squares, and gather enough lines to make wonders of the world and get new music. =D plus it was multi player and had battle modes. XD it was sooooo addictive. I saw Tetris pieces every time I closed my eyes.
Which game is it again? Shadowgate? The new version or the classic NES one? If not Shadowgate, where else have you heard the awesome third theme? I must know!

Easily, not as great as the Tengen version, but at least it had some great music. :) Also it's worth mentioning, that this version HAS a two-player co-op function, (I even tested it and works) but it was never used in the game's final version.
