  • I had to leave Thailand . This is my airline review of 24 hours in United Polaris business class, ANA business class and United First class on my flight from Bangkok to Austin, Texas. I also show you business class lounges at three different airports. My 24 hours of travel stars in Bangkok aboard ANA Business class enroute to Narita, Japan. There I switched to United Polaris Business class for a very long flight to Houston, Texas. The last flight is a relatively short 28 minute flight to Austin. Join me as I share my thoughts and review of United Polaris Business Class, ANA business class and United first class. I also show and review 3 different business class lounges at 3 different international airports. This was a very long 24 hours of travel, but it was time for me to go back to America to visit friends and family for a few weeks. I truly love flying united business class international, come along and share the experience with me as I show you what it’s all about and give you an in depth review.

    OH man, this was a cool video. People that haven't made this journey can't understand how LONG it is of a flight. Being able to relax and actually REST on this flight makes all the difference. This was fun and actually really educational. I've always wondered what it was like to do this. As much as I like the Asian-based air crews, there is something just comforting when the American crew arrived, they are confident, accepted the gift, and enjoyed it. I feel the same when I get American customer support on the phone, just really competent and fast. You did SUCH a nice job on this and I'm excited to see your US content. Thank you for doing this, it can't be easy, especially on a flight.

    Serg, your vlogs are great! I don't get to watch a lot of videos because I'm constantly traveling and editing for another channel, but I really, really enjoyed this video. It's like a how-to on travel vlogging.
    ANA is still my favorite airline and that lounge in Nariita is giant. We travel with our kids and lounges definitely make life easier. The best part is that we have been rotating through credit cards to get access to basically all lounges for free while not having to spend money we otherwise wouldn't have spent.

    Wife and I flew to Thailand in March. It was a pure hell of a trip. Over 30 hrs. from the states with the layovers. We flew regular economy and miserable it was. Sure wish we had such comfort as you did.

    • @LifewithSerg
      @LifewithSerg  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yah I know what you mean. I’ve done this trip in economy before. One of the reason this flight was pricey was that my max layover was 2 hours (expect the one delay). I picked an itinerary with short layovers in both directions.

      If I don’t have to fly into a smaller airport in Texas, and didn’t book just 3 weeks in advance, this would have cost me closer to $4k. I know this is expensive. Not flexing, just sharing. Glad you enjoyed this video. More coming soon!

      @@LifewithSerg Thank you for sharing. I was teasing. Recently, I’ve had to upgrade to Premium Economy on United for the long flight from Japan to California, making the 12+ hour flight more tolerable.
      It’s perfectly alright to enjoy the finer things in life, now and then, like flying business class or first class especially on long flights.

      Who’s upgrades do yon think are not worth getting? I could’ve easily flown coach on the last 30 minute flight from Houston to Austin. I booked a whole ticket in one shot so that’s why I had the first class flight on the 30 minute leg. It really didn’t make any difference.

    On the ANA flight the amenity kit normally is located in the storage compartment to your left. Chances are you left it there untouched. On United flying from Asia back to the US you can order in advance anything you want for your main meal. That is something that most passengers in Business class either forget or are not aware of it.

    I'm not trying to knock your experience but ANA Business class from Bangkok to Japan and vise versa is very sub par (feels like business class from the early 90s) compared to their longer flights (say Chicago to Japan and vise versa) that has the newer The Room Business Class setup. If coming from the US or Bangkok to US, I would recommend Singapore Airlines Business class. Their older Business Class seats are just from Bangkok to Singapore (less than 2 hours) while their newer are from Singapore to US (13+ hours). If you want the absolute best experience, then make sure to purchase a bulk head seat 19K, 19A, or 11K on the longer flight (I think A350-900ULR model plane). They will give you the widest footwells making sleeping and sitting so much more comfortable than their other business class seats. NOTHING compares to these particular seats in size, comfort and along with their insane customer service (I felt like a king...).
    EDIT: Also make sure you login to their website after making your booking to do Book The Cook, this is where you can preselect your meal from an extended multi-Chef created menu beyond the inflight Business Class menu at no additional charge. The selection is so much better than the inflight menu in my opinion.
