This may be the best Polaris video I’ve seen! Thank you! Also, I flew 1L a few months ago, and I have 12G tomorrow, and looking fwd to ice cream + warm nuts.
Some observations. Remote boarding on a long haul flight is not good. United's Polaris class seats are very nice, but I find Uniteds catering and service inconsistent.
To each their own when it comes to remote boarding. If its during the day, I'm personally a fan. Agreed that the Polaris seat was VERY comfortable. The lunch service was solid with the prawn dishes, but the pre-arrival meal left much to be desired.
Domestic U.S. airlines have been serving ice cream sundaes for ages- including international flights.. ( American has been offering them on U.S. and international flights for eons, including transcon in First as well as Business Class ) Some international based carriers even have their own versions in premium cabins.
@__withMark yes very true I have flown Polaris numerous times and every time has been wonderful. It really pays to fly Polaris if it is a long haul flight.
hi Mark, did some additional research and unfortunately, Virgin Atlantic doesn't transfer to Virgin Australia Velocity... only Marriott transfers but 3:1... other YTs also confirmed this... also aside from Aeroplan, Velocity has the 2nd best availability on business class awards... maybe thats why... only Australians can access
I'm doing a LAX to Tokyo, March 2025. 12 hours in Polaris. I'm looking forward to the Polaris lounge at LAX. I can't see people being shoehorned in Economy for 12 hours. I haven't boarded a flight, on stairs, since 1983. I wonder how clean those headphones are? PS. I'll check out your Japan trip video.
Hope you enjoy the flight! There's no stairs on this aircraft, its not like a B747 or A380. As for the headphones, didnt get around to trying them but atleast the movie/show selection was good
Nice work! I flew Polaris for the first time recently. Pleasantly surprised. Best biz class bedding I’ve had so far. Nice seats. One passive aggressive cabin crew didn’t like we changed our minds and asked for express dining; otherwise very friendly staff. On the return I did need to wipe down the surfaces with three of their complimentary wet wipes since there were quite a few stains, but after that the rest of the fight was great.
hi, just checked seats aero... does transferring UR to Virgin Atlantic enables me to book via Virgin Australia? I see lots of availability either Aeroplan, Alaska, AA, Qantas & Virgin Australia, thanks
I believe you can transfer UR to Virgin Atlantic then you need to call Virgin Atlantic to book via Virgin Australia. Best advice is to call Virgin Atlantic to confirm the process before transferring any points over
Yes choose the middle seats if your priority is to be close enough to chat with your husband! If you're in the front cabin, choose an odd numbered row. If you're in the rear business cabin, take rows either 10 or 12.
@@__withMarkwhy do you suggest odd number middle seats toward the front, rows 11 or 12 toward the back of the section if you wish to be near your spouse?
Sir, Could you plz help me out best option for me to book a flight from ICN to MLE round trip around august or sep? I cant really find one and not sure what im doing wrong
Worst catering of the big three. Did you know your valuable points or dollars bought you a frozen meal that they warmed up in the commissary rather than make it fresh. All United meals are shipped in frozen now to the airports .
For spending thousands of dollars in the sky? The food was not up to par with elegance and prestigious compared to other airlines. Or Maybe, it's just US airlines lol 😂
Honestly United Polaris is trash I recently flew united polaris to Europe on the Boeing 787 the amount of leg room for you to move around is horrible and the flight was delayed for over 6 hours United is overall just a horrible airline. The food on the flight made my stomach sick as well
Awesome flight review Mark, I've been wanting to try United Polaris. And YES a flight without Lord of the Rings or Star Wars is a lesser flight.
Great minds think alike, Monty 🙌🏾
I love United Polaris class !
This may be the best Polaris video I’ve seen! Thank you! Also, I flew 1L a few months ago, and I have 12G tomorrow, and looking fwd to ice cream + warm nuts.
Thanks for the high praise! Enjoy!
Update: 12G is small compared to 1L. Lol.
Great trip report. The Lord of the Rings in Star Wars test is such a great idea. Two of my favorite movie series of all time I’d say
Haha same here. Glad that segment is attracting fellow fans!

Just booked my sf-heathrow and Frankfort -sf tickets. This made me super excited!
Hope you enjoy it!
Great video! Im flying in 1L later in the year from MEL to SFO and I cant wait!

Looking forward to trying those international flights in upcoming videos!
United hasnt done me wrong yet. Very excited for my flight to Netherlands next month
Enjoy the flight!
Great review and I love flying Polaris...both domestic and international
I agree, it was a great product and what I appreciate the most is Polaris is consistent across the fleet

Thanks for getting back to me on this! Good to know for future reference
Very nice. Will fly this class soon from SFO to FRA
Enjoy the flight!

Traveling is amazing. Enjoy the Polaris!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the breakdown. My highest priority is ability to sleep. How well did you sleep? How were your back, ne k and legs?
Polaris bedding was very comfortable imo. No issues at all with space!

Agree with the bedding, it was super comfortable. I can see cabin crew differing flight to flight especially since this is a US airline
Where are the affiliate links for your camera gear! The video quality is great
Haha no affiliate links for any of my gear just yet. I film with an iPhone 15 Pro Max!

Nice. And you have enough room to recline? I could t tell.
Yep, plenty of room for both lie flat and reclining!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Hey are you able to actually lay down comfortably? I have back problems and need to be able to fully lay down. Thanks!!
Yes, I was able to lay down completely flat! And it was comfortable
Also, request a mattress pad. It adds even more padding when lying flat.
To be closer to my husband would it be better to choose middle seats?

@@lucindavaninwagen6057 If your aircraft is a B777-200ER, sit in Rows 10 or 12 in the rear cabin to be closer to your partner
@@__withMark thank you.
We are on a 787-9. From the seat diagram, row 11 looks like a “couples” row.
How packed was the Polaris area. Was every seat sold out?
Yes, or folks got upgraded

Flying in style

Sir,
Could you plz help me out best option for me to book a flight from ICN to MLE round trip around august or sep?
I cant really find one and not sure what im doing wrong
question , did you pay the ticket by yourself?
Transferred points to Aeroplan and booked Polaris through there! Cost 60K pts.
Do you get to keep the blanket?
No, all the blankets are supposed to stay at the seat
I like simply beautiful cabin like this ! I don’t like airlines when put colors on like Emirates, they push too much fancying looks odd
The food is not that good, Mark's presentation is great, he miss nothing. I'll Polaris next time.
bro whats your job to afford this?
Can you do a Harry Potter test next time??
Now this is a good suggestion 🙌🏾
Why the hell didn't you record the arrival meal?? I feel robbed. :-(
Its at 8:29
Worst catering of the big three. Did you know your valuable points or dollars bought you a frozen meal that they warmed up in the commissary rather than make it fresh. All United meals are shipped in frozen now to the airports .
Flight was delayed a whole day and the polaris business class...SUCKED!!! Bad from A to Z..will never fly United again.
For spending thousands of dollars in the sky? The food was not up to par with elegance and prestigious compared to other airlines. Or Maybe, it's just US airlines lol 😂
Polaris is nothing special for the cost. Delta is way better. Even Jet Blue has better business class
One of my least favorite airlines.
What is your preferred airline for international European travel?
Continental was better. United ruined Continental
Back in my day👆
One of my favorite airlines
Honestly United Polaris is trash I recently flew united polaris to Europe on the Boeing 787 the amount of leg room for you to move around is horrible and the flight was delayed for over 6 hours United is overall just a horrible airline. The food on the flight made my stomach sick as well
Is there such a thing as a ‘good’ US airline? I think not, they are all terrible, period.
There are some US airlines that are "less worse" than others ;)
