    This is a tactic that I seen used many times on the U.S.'s Shark Tank. He came in knowing full well that with his evaluation he wouldn't get any investors, that wasn't his goal. He used his time on the show as free advertising to promote his trike.

    Pushed a wheelchair stroke victim for the first time in my life. Couldn't believe how hopeless the wheel chair was outside on a flat pavement. Very difficult to manoeuvre, very heavy, felt unstable, and the person pushing needs to be strong. The idea of allowing a disabled person more freedom is genius.

    Sometimes people just go on these shows for the exposure of their products. Like this guy, now millions have seen it. Great advertising! This presenter was well educated and had one of the best overall presentations I've seen on any DD or ST show. If he really came looking for an investor he would have come with reasonable figures, he chose not to. Simply because he never intended to close a deal, only get his product some air time.

  • @advancedcogs4372
    @advancedcogs4372 8 ปีที่แล้ว +25

    The product's unique selling point is an all terrain vehicle, specifically designed for disabled users. ''Deep mud, snow and sandy beaches'' with that enormous amount of drag and resistance along with the shopping cart wheel at the back, how do you honestly expect any man or women to use their upper body strength to travel anywhere other than a flat road, never mind up the side of mountains. Granted the majority of people with disabilities are the older generation who would be more frail than others, army soldiers particularly suffer from missing or damaged limbs. The middle aged customer seemed to be putting considerable effort in moving the trike along a smooth surface, which again ultimately contradicts the whole appeal of the product as it's only advantage over traditional wheelchairs is that this trike can travel along flat country trails along side push bikes, although if this only has a messily top speed of 5mph how could you possible keep up with your more abled family.

    • @NickLiang
      @NickLiang 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It's in the clever leverage system. Also the suspension units used makes it extremely durable and more comfortable over rough terrain. Even if it is only used over a few curbs, bumps or grass. If you've used a traditional wheel chair before, you would know it is not very durable, difficult to propel if you have weak grip strength (which is the most common weakness in the elder generation or any degenerative condition) because the leverage does not allow you to maximise your upper limb strength. And then it offers much more stability compared to a traditional wheel chair over rough grounds, bumps and curbs. Easier to drive independently, more durable, safer and more comfortable. 3- 4 mph is a brisk walk, 5+ is a jog, so you can easily keep up. I know this because I work as a physiotherapist and I would love to be able to offer this product to many of my patients. Your logic is completely flawed.

    • @firstnamelastname-oy7es
      @firstnamelastname-oy7es 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, exactly, wealthy people who vacation in the alps can buy one of these.
      Not every day normal disabled people who can't afford to buy it. I can't see this business being hugely successful, which means it will fail over time since the target market will already have bought these wheelchairs, and not need another one.

    • @Gorantaylis
      @Gorantaylis 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They are used in the alps for hire, and nobody ever buys them. They're never hugely popular, and fail to realise that for tourists, seeing real mountains and going up on the lifts are just as exciting.

    • @davidmellish3295
      @davidmellish3295 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not a wheelchair user so I'm not going to argue with you as you obviously know a lot more about it than me.
      BUT....his advocate has been using the chair and he says there is nothing he doesn't like about the product, so if there was an issue with this ruining shoulders and hurting backs I think the advocate would have noticed.
      So my question to you is,why fo you think this would hurt your shoulders and give you a sore back when the man testing it has had none of these issues and says it's the best chair he's used and there is nothing he doesn't like.

    like i suggested below, if the deal were to allow. 5% shares of common, first right to buy the others out at a later date, and the right to buy chairs at cost and sell them at what the Dragon can get to recoup the initial investment of $100k. after the 100k recouped then the Dragon has to send all signed sales deals thru the proper normal accounts of the company and the profits rise and dividends occur, paying all them owners the declared dividends. the Dragon only receiving their 5% of the total declared. thanks for the upload.

      you know you could pay that for a mountain bike, not even top of the range one? such as a "Scott Genius 730" priced in Evans £3999 so its not so badly priced as you might think! especially if it has similar component quality and off road potential as this example of bike! and to limit negotiations to 5% or less is going to be hamstringing any investment chances! the Dragons had nothing to work with! or do you want people to get one of these supplied for nothing?

    It's quite slow, even slower than a normal wheelchair, which certainly shouldn't be the case for an off road sporty trike. You can get wheelchairs for £48. This is worth about £200. Not £4000. There is a limited small market of absolute fools. Dragons were crazy to give him offers. He was crazy not to accept.

    • @makavelismith
      @makavelismith 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly. Especially when you're looking at manufacturing a small amount of a complex and material/labour heavy product. These would cost a fortune per unit.

    • @firstnamelastname-oy7es
      @firstnamelastname-oy7es 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's exactly Sid H's point though, guys.
      It does cost quite a bit to make. But it is absolutely never going to be 'worth' spending £4k to the target audience, and so as a business and product, it is a massive failure. Why would a disabled person spend 4k on this wheel chair when they already have a wheelchair that cost £50, and they could use the 4k to buy a car to enable them to travel further?

    • @andreiandrei3387

      I agree with you.that product it wasn't such a great product..seeing the hands movements of the person riding it..they were "psychotic"to get that thing moving..i can't imagine a normal person doing that for half hour let alone one hour..he was doing those movements on smooth surface..imagine it on "off road" terrain..i don't anybody that is on wheelchair but if someone wants the best just get a electric wheelchair.
